Staff was friendly and the food was good, but the décor looked the same as before. DRINKS & FOOD: Started with complimentary chips and salsa (pico de gallo style). We ordered a couple Mango Margaritas ($14/ea.) which were average (tasted like mango juice, rather than real mango in it), and a bottle of Pacifico ($7.23). For dinner, we tried the Breaded Shrimp Plate Special ($16.99) with rice & salad, the No. 33 Two Hard Shell Tacos ($16.50) which my wife got 1 chicken & 1 beef, and the No. 55 Chile Colorado ($17.50) which I asked for double beans, instead of rice. My hubby and I visited on a Monday morning, around 9:30 am. We came in and we waited about 5 minutes for anyone to come greet us. We were the only ones there, it was practically empty!!! I read many reviews comparing to previous restaurant, but I had never been here before. I do have to add that they do need a deep cleaning and some remodeling. Ok, so..... After we were sat service was great, food came out in a timely manner. Cafe the olla was tasty and salsa and chips were fresh. My hubby ordered carne en salsa verde and was tasty and meat was tender. I ordered chilaquiles verdes and they were tasty as well. When we were about to leave another customer came in, but during our whole time at the restaurant it was only us. We were seated by the entrance, to the right when you enter. The waitress was nice, but seemed a little overwhelmed. We ordered waters and our food, but everything took forever to get to us. I never got the water I requested several times. The food was cold when we got it. We could never find our server to keep requesting the water we never got. I really wanted to like this place under new management, but it was a terrible experience and we likely won't be returning. read more

The food was excellent, beans tasted like my mom made them. The service and attention to detail was above and beyond. Owner stopped and talked to us and is very proud of what he's accomplished in a year and it shows in his food and his people. Will definitely be coming back! I'm so glad to see this mexican restaurant in my adjacent neighborhood. I saw when they were preparing to open, replacing " Durangos" mexican restaurant which had been there for 40? plus years. I had stopped going to Durangos when they stopped their lunch specials. It became very expensive for lunch after Covid. Well I love the new restaurant Casa Flor. I met the cook , owner ? Chito, who was very kind and welcoming. The waitress seated me right away. I loved that they opened up the windows to allow natural light, yet it was very comfortable. The cook is the same as durangos to my understanding, so the food very similar, however lunch specials and Authentic Mexican cuisine. I ordered the lunch special 2 item $14.99 for a cup of Albondigas soup, and my preference was the beef taco with cheese en chilada, rice and beans. I could swear it was my mom's Authentic beans and rice !! I loved her cooking! The food here is great tasting Authentic Mexican, they way my mother used to make it !! Soup served quickly and it was my favorite Albondigas !!! loved it. The entree came timely and I was able to comfortably eat, pay and gone within 35 ish minutes. They come and give you chips and salsa and we have to wait another 10 min. to take our order. Food was great we enjoyed it once we got it. We celebrated my dad's 90th birthday on Saturday. We were a party of 25. Casa Flor allowed us to reserve a section of the restaurant and bring in a mariachi. They were very accommodating. I truly appreciate this restaurant and highly recommend it. The food is delicious, the service is wonderful and our overall experience was fantastic. The owner went above and beyond for us. Yesterday my family and I decided to try out this place since the whole name change and new owners well I'm sad to say but yesterday would be the last time we will go there the food was good but the service was lousy I even seen a couple leave. We were about to leave also that's how bad the service was.. back when it was Durango's the service was awesome!!! Not once did the waitress come and check to see if we were good on drinks we had a hunt her down to get a refill on our drinks!!! And she was not to friendly at all I don't understand how you're gonna work with people and get mad when they ask for more of their drink that they're paying for How do you know what I saw? I seen people go in and walk out because they weren't even being attended one lady running the floor hire more people and hire people that have common sense of being nice to people. !! I work in the fast food industry. I work with food. I deal with people customers every day. Went on a Sunday morning and got seated right away. Staff was very friendly and gave me chips and 2 types of salsa before ordering. I ordered a small menudo which was the perfect size. The menudo was very flavorful and full of lots of meat. My only complaint is that I wish the pieces were cut a little more smaller, but other than that it was delicious. Ever since the changing of staff, it takes the waitress forever to bring us our check or even a refill. It wasn't crowded when we went for dinner, only 2 other couples and it took her 30 minutes to come to our table and when I asked for the check she asked if I wanted a refill...ya pa que? We went today and the service was awful. We had been going to Durangos for over 30 years and we were never disappointed. Today we waited for 45 minutes and still no food. We didn't even get water after we sat down. I have to say we left $5 for chips but We will never go back again. Also they raised the prices and on some meals had an additional $3 for rice and beans. read more
