The food was excellent, beans tasted like my mom made them. The service and attention to detail was above and beyond. Owner stopped and talked to us and is very proud of what he's accomplished in a year and it shows in his food and his people. Will definitely be coming back! Also asked for a little side of menudo to try and didn't hesitate one second to bring a little bowl.

Albondigas soup. starter on lunch special

I'm so glad to see this mexican restaurant in my adjacent neighborhood. I saw when they were preparing to open, replacing " Durangos" mexican restaurant which had been there for 40? plus years. I had stopped going to Durangos when they stopped their lunch specials. It became very expensive for lunch after Covid. Well I love the new restaurant Casa Flor. I met the cook , owner ? Chito, who was very kind and welcoming. The waitress seated me right away. I loved that they opened up the windows to allow natural light, yet it was very comfortable. The cook is the same as durangos to my understanding, so the food very similar, however lunch specials and Authentic Mexican cuisine. I ordered the lunch special 2 item $14.99 for a cup of Albondigas soup, and my preference was the beef taco with cheese en chilada, rice and beans. I could swear it was my mom's Authentic beans and rice !! I loved her cooking! The food here is great tasting Authentic Mexican, they way my mother used to make it !! Soup served quickly and it was my favorite Albondigas !!! loved it. The entree came timely and I was able to comfortably eat, pay and gone within 35 ish minutes. (I had a dr appt. ) I will definitely be back. to try other dishes and reminisce of my Dear Mother's cooking.

    Potato taco

Potato tacos were barely any potatoes in there. It's like just eating the shell. I feel like the chili verde lacks flavor. No AC, so the place is super hot. Almost 40 mins for two plates.

Dinner with my grandparents. They had albondigas and I ate the costa brava. Albondigas Albondigas Cup Caldo De Pescado

My grandparents liked their albondigas. My grandma was super happy they have a cup size as she doesn't eat much. Thier costa Brava caldo was wonderful. Very flavorful. Very attentive waitress.

I went the other day to get albóndiga soup. I think the price is reasonable at $16 plus tax and I had a good amount of albóndigas.

Since new ownership. Prices increased. Less food served. House salad dressing has changed (for the worst).

We ordered the American breakfast, which is supposed to come with: eggs, bacon, sausage, and pancakes. Instead we got eggs, bacon, potatoes, beans and a pancake that was a mix between a cookie and dry corn bread. The orange juice is freshly squeezed with fresh SEEDS included. The over easy eggs were swimming in oil as well as the potatoes. Everything was just oily. They advertise their daily agua frescas on a hand written menu but when we ask for horchata they said "not today". Should've gone to the burger joint down the block instead. Waste of time and money. I'm giving it 2 stars because of good coffee and friendly servers.

It's the type of place that I would be stoked finding it, if I was on a road trip driving from California through Texas (and through New Mexico). It just has that certain quality of authenticity or how you would imagine a Mexican spot like you see in the movies or something. I came in for a late lunch so I was the only one in the restaurant so the service was pretty quick. The menu is full of those combination classics that you would see at certain Mexican restaurants. I ended up ordering the three tacos dorados combo. I thought the food was great. Because it wasn't busy at the time parking was easy to find on the street. I parked right out front.

Now the food.... I had the Chon's Breakfast Comal. The chorizo was ok. Lacked quite a bit of flavor. Potatoes tasted kinda like they were boiled and then finished in a sauce, then plated. The bell peppers and onions were fantastic. A lot. But they were cooked well. Over easy eggs were decent, despite one of them being cooked all the way through. Comal was perfect temperature. But insanely greasy (which is expected from chorizo). Rice. Eh... Rice is rice. Wasn't bad. But was all "Oh my goodness this is amazing." Beans tasted like the refried Rosarita's can. Just topped with cheese. The salsa. It was pretty good. The 1st time. Until I found a hair. Then I was given a 2nd one. And when I decided to eat it, it was no good. It was starting to spoil. I realized this once I put it on a bite I was about to take and immediately put it in my food i was about to chew in my napkin. After about 15 minutes when my server finally came by, I told her of the situation. She said "I'll go check." Then disappeared. Someone else gave me the check, and then someone else brought the receipt. The initial server didn't pop up until I was getting up to walk out. So no manager interaction. No "we'll comp your coffee." Just a "Sorry you didn't like it." As I walked out. Ambiance is cool, but some table placement doesn't make sense. That needs to be addressed. Will I come back here? I don't know. Maybe. Maybe not. But I'm talking like 80 no /20 yea. So I guess we'll see.. So I'm giving this place 1 star. I'm sorry, but this is my opinion based on my 1st experience here. Maybe it'll be better. We'll see....
