As a native Salvi, these dishes bring a lot of comfort to me. The food at El Rinconcito is always authentic, made with so much care and love. Being around for almost 35 years speaks volume. The service by Ena and Betty whom are usually around is great. The owners David and Edwin are also very welcoming as they are following parents footsteps. The location is well kept and spacious so you have your privacy if your a large party or date night. Also heating food up at home mostly microwaveable but the pupusas I like to heat on a pan/griddle stove top. I will always recommend this location as my favorite Salvadorean restaurant. read more

Absolutely Incredible! They exceeded our expectations, we really loved it ! The atmosphere was welcoming. The owner's son was very friendly. I kept it simple with chicken and rice but the seasoning was a symphony of heat washed down very neatly with a very welcome margarita. Usually food and service is good, however today was unacceptable. After purchasing two separate items that should've totaled 21.65 plus tax An older lady charged me $29. I looked at the receipt and she did not label what she charged me for just (1 custom item). I asked her about it and she said it was an accident and tried to give me $1.65 back. I told them just to keep it after realizing I wasn't going to get my money back without the owner present. It gets four stars because, frankly, this area is saturated with restaurants that serve similar cuisine and they are all good - the competition to rise above the rest is tough. But the beef soup here and the rice and beans are truly excellent - these seem like staple dishes you can't get wrong but simple seasoning preferences can make the difference between good and great and they hit the "great" spot. The lunch specials are a great deal and the clientele is diverse - they've reached audiences that typically don't frequent these Mom and Pop Hispanic restaurants. Went for my aunts birthday it took 20 minutes to get a coffee and then the server tells me I can't be in the restaurant with my emotional support animal. Come to find out the table behind us complained even though my dog made no noise and was disturbing no one, the manager was involved and said I am allowed to be in there but the server had already kicked me out without knowing the rules of the place and just to please a table that was leaving. Was disappointed. Did not like that while we were still eating, staff decided to mop the place with bleach. Definitely killed everything and it's very it's unhealthy to do. I understand the staff wanted to get a jump in cleaning up so they can leave sooner rather than later, but using cleaning chemicals while customers are still eating isn't right and it comes off as rude. read more

Very amazing spot! Went there yesterday and had pupusas de frijoles y queso! So good! The curtido is the best I've had. My daughter had the chicken and fries and even that was delicious! This is one of the best Salvadorian places in the tri state area. I have made the trip twice from lower Manhattan to here and I couldn't stop loving it more.
