    Char Siu Ramen

I wouldn't have known about this place if not for friends who wanted to take us here. It's a super cozy, quaint and relaxed environment with well-spaced seating. I really enjoyed the food here. The ramen bowls are large and more than enough to keep you full. All the dishes came out hot and fresh. The karage and dumplings were good. The donburi was good but too heavy on the sauce so I will order the sauce on the side next time. Great dining experience and very attentive staff.

Ramen lacks a bit of flavor. The karage chicken is nice and crispy. The bubble tea is of the powdered kind so I don't recommend those. Plenty of parking in the shopping center and the staff was friendly.

Solid spot to enjoy ramen! The service is fast and friendly. Quiet spot to enjoy during a lunch break.

My husband and I were doing grocery nearby and had a craving for ramen. We found this place and everything was delicious. Staff were friendly and ambience was charming.

A new Ramen shop opened up in the neighborhood. There was a large sign on the window that read: OPEN NOW. As we walked closer, there was a much smaller sign above it that read, grand opening on February 18. Needless to say, I felt like a sucker as I worked up a craving for ramen. On Sunday, February 18, we came back to see if it was worth the wait. Ambience: contemporary modern wood paneling on the walls, the decor looks like every other modern ramen shop in the neighborhood. Maybe they all hired the same contractors? It's clean and spacious, but nothing that would really separate it from the crowd. Food: we ordered: Roasted Char Siu - this is the same Char Siu that's found in the ramen, but it is served roasted as an appetizer. Very hot, savory and yummy. 4/5 Chicken Karaage - fried chicken. How can you go wrong? While most pieces were tender, there were several smaller overfried dried pieces that were either all breading or really small mini nuggets 3/5 Takoyaki - really creamy filling with a bit of octupus. 4/5 Char Siu Ramen - I was looking for my usual Tonkatsu Ramen. This was the closest thing on the menu. The Char Siu portion size was generous, but the broth was a little watered down and not as flavorful as I hoped. 3/5

Decided to give this new place a try. The niku soba seemed to be unique, so I ordered that. I was fortunate enough to be one of the two tables occupied. The interiors are very clean and neat. Even the chopsticks were of good restaurant quality instead of those disposable wooden sticks. Out came the bowl and it was of good size. I started with a sip of the broth. It has flavor but kind of fell flat. I did not have the ohh yum! moment. Next was the onion fried pork belly and that was delicious, kind of saved the dish. The soba noodles were good. The broth is the most important ingredient in ramen and I didn't enjoy it as much as I am used to.

NEW OPEN! Tried the stir-fried seafood ramen (no soup), the crispy chicken ramen (soup), and the beef ramen (soup). The food and ambiance were very good. Each dish cost $14.95, same price cash or credit. While the food was not overly-salty, we did order not spicy and my beef ramen had a slight kick to it, likely from the bamboo shoots, which are usually soaked in the spicy soup. The chef needs to be aware that doing this adds some spicy kick patrons may not desire if they order not spicy. The service was very good (the friendly manager went around to each table asking if everything was okay), and the bathrooms were spotless. I will return, hungry for more ramen!

The char siu (roasted pork belly slices) melted in the mouth and the marinated egg was done well, but the broth was somewhat bland -- perhaps we should have tried the spicy version instead. The dish included some bok choy, and a generous amount of bamboo slices. - Two Rolls Lunch Special: $10.95; $11.92 with tax. We ordered an Eel Avocado Roll and a Salmon Avocado Roll. The eel was chewier than expected, the salmon could have been fresher. Complimentary water was provided. Service was OK, and the dining room was bright and pleasant. The restrooms could be better maintained. The women's restroom was out of service when we visited, so the men's restroom should have had more toilet paper and paper towels. I hope Miso Ramen and Hibachi considers revising its menu, as Youta Ramen down the road seems to have more contemporary and interesting offerings. I would have liked a Black Garlic option. The noodles have just the right bite, and the chashu pork is tender, flavorful, and generously portioned--melting into the broth with every bite. Simple, classic, and done right, which is harder to find than it should be. Everything arrives artfully plated, and the pacing is perfect--never rushed, never slow. The waitstaff were attentive and helpful. Only complaint about the setting is that every time someone went in or out, a rush of cold air would enter. Try not to sit too close to the door. As far as the food, daughter and I just ordered soon dubu (soft tofu stew) and ddukbokki (spicy rice cakes). We're Korean so flavor profile wise, it seemed to cater to non Korean palates. The soon dubu was not spicy and had too much of a sesame oil flavor and the ddukbokki was sweet with no spiciness at all. I think if you are non Korean, the seasoning was good and the food flavorful, just not the flavors we were expecting. Also, although the menu makes it seem like you have to pay for the banchan (appetizers), we did not, it came with the staple kimchee, and a couple other dishes. Not sure why they had prices on the menu unless they charge for refills? They also gave us this yummy ice cream bite for dessert which is usually unheard of in Korean restaurants. Having said all this, I do want to recommend this place, it was a nice local restaurant to get some Asian dishes with a great waitstaff.
