I found this place though Yelp and decided to give it a try. The employees were extremely welcoming and quickly sat out group down. They gave us a lot of options and recommendations to pick from. They do have a wide variety of drinks including alcohol. There's plenty of games to play like pool, darts, poker. Firts Break Cafe is a bit hidden, located on the second floor at the back of a place, but definitely worh finding. The space is clean and spacious, offering a variety of games like pool, darts, poker. pong and a few arcade machines. You don't need a reservation, just head to the bar, let them know what you'd like to play, and they'll assign you an available table. Games like pool and darts are charged by the hour. The staff and regulars are friendly, making it easy to enjoy even If you're not experienced. They also offer standard bar food and drinks. We ordered jalapeno poppers and tater tots, which were tasty and great for snacking while playing. Althought they have a full bar, we just got sparkling water and were still well taken care of. The entrance to the sports bar isnt typical; similar to the concept of a speak easy you find a door among the strip of businesses where you immediately see a flight of stairs. You take the flight of stairs and follow the noise till you get the bar. The bar is spacious and clean. There are games like darts, pong, poker and a dozen billiard tables. Darts and billiards i believe are offered by the hour you just pay by the bar. You can order drinks and food that they will make and bring to you too. December 25, 2025: Today I was at the bar. I've been a customer for two years, and tonight was an unpleasant experience. The bartender, Nicole, charged me for drinks I never ordered. She has previously shown racism towards me. I'm a customer who doesn't cause problems, and Linda, the most senior bartender, can confirm that. Nicole always tries to make me feel uncomfortable and unwelcome, even ignoring me when the bar isn't busy. I once overheard her telling another customer that she ignores people who don't leave good tips for her. Does she expect $100 tips for three beers? Tonight, she threatened to have the owner ban me from the bar for no reason. I hope the owner can correct this employee's behavior. read more

This is a pool cafe. It consists of pool tables, some automated game machines and darts. My friend and I wanted to meet up on Monday and this was a prefect option. We played a game of darts and a game of pool. Having no skills in both games, we both still had a blast. The employees and regular patrons were nice and helpful. Once you go inside you can decide what you want to play and they will tell you what number of tables are available. They also have some food/drink options. It's regular bar food but decent. We ordered some jalapeño poppers and Tatar totes. Good portions and yum to eat while playing. They have a full bar but since both of us don't drink alcohol, we ordered some sparkling water. You can pay food, drinks, and pool rental at the bar. It's a good option in Sterling to do some activity based hangout with friends. Beers on ice, cheap, and they've got great alcohol and cheap prices. What a fun place! It's located in Sugarland Run, in the back between some mini markets. You then walk in and go up a very very sketchy elevator that takes 5 minutes for the doors to open even though you can feel you're already stopped at that floor. And viola! You walk into a nice open place that has about 8 pool tables, couple dart boards in the back, a bar and a small dining place. Pool tables are $16.50 an hour. Can't believe it took me so long to find a pool hall thats clean and non-smoking area. Food is cheap and it's okay, I mean you get what you pay for. Everything on the menu is about $5-$10 bucks. We ordered the garlic parmesan wings, which I didn't like because not too much garlic or parmesan on it. And then bacon cheese fries, which barely had any cheese but a lot bacon. Hmm...wasn't too bad but I'll have to try the other food. Theres a special for 1.50 domestic everyday except for Wednesdays and $9 pitchers. I enjoy imported but hey beer is beer! This place cheated me. I ordered plain wings. They delivered buffalo sauce on the wings. I also ordered the sauce on the side. When I called to complain, they blamed the delivery company. Not sure how DoorDash or whoever delivered, is at fault for their mistake. After talking to a few of the workers, I finally got the manager. After discussing the issue for a few minutes, he told me he would refund one set of wings and I could order the plain wings again. Which I did. I was never refunded. This is a pretty cool pool hall. Getting to it can be a bit weird but once you're there, it's a friendly place. First...getting there. You have to walk to the 'center' of the strip mall where you will see two glass doors. Go up the stairs until you can't go no farther and you have arrived. Going up the stairs gave me a few moments of pause but once I forged on, I found my destination and was pleasantly surprised. My friend and I got there a bit early so it wasn't too crowded; the bar that is. The pool tables had some activity though. We ordered the chicken nachos and while it was fresh it was definitely lacking something so we ordered a side of jalapeños which did the trick. Would I go back? Absolutely. Our bartender treated us very well and answered all of questions very patiently and friendly. read more

We've been ordering from First Break via the delivery services for several months and decided to see what the inside was like. We were hoping to play some darts and maybe trying a game of pool. At least one person was in the back, but we only saw one person handling the drink and food orders. We found a table and sat down. Not seeing any menus, and figuring that the man couldn't see us, I went up to the bar. When he finally turned to me I asked for a couple of menus. He points to a QR code and says "scan this." I tell him nicely that we don't have smart phones. He says they don't have menus. Other places have gone to disposable, paper menus. So I don't know what the deal is here. But, I figure we can work around this, we've ordered on-line enough to know at least part of the menu. So I ask for 2 Sprite and an unsweet tea. I was told that they didn't have any tea. Okay, what do you have that is sugar free? Diet Coke. I guess they think diabetics don't want to play pool or darts. I walked back to my party and told them it was a probably a no-go. No menus and no diet drinks. We left and went to another restaurant. I don't think we'll be back, too rude. I've heard of BYOB, even BYOC, but this is the first time I've run into BYOM. It's been very hard to find a real pool hall around the area. The tables here are in great shape, new carpets, dart areas and a separate smoking lounge, which I really appreciate. I can't believe I've not heard of this place all of these years but considering its location, you really have to be a hardcore player to find it. It definitely isn't for the casual player with a lot of regulars and some intense and serious looking players. Spoke to the owner/manager and was told they have been there for many years. I've been driving all over the place for a good pool hall, and it was right down the street! The rates are very reasonable and the food, surprisingly OK for bar food. I had the fish and chips and they brought out a plank that hung off the plate. Well cooked and a heaping helping of crispy fries for $7.50, what?! $8 for 8 hours of pool on beautiful tables on Sunday, I'm sold. read more

I've been going to first break since I was 18. And it has undergone many changes in the past 4 years. First and foremost, it's a pool hall. So on any given day you will see tournament players practicing for league nights or tournaments. Almost all of them are regulars and most of them are friendly and helpful. If you ask one for a tip on your game, (assuming they're not in the middle of their own game) most will gladly help you. And I will concede that I have definetly seen some fights and rather uncouth people hanging around there before, but lately the owner has been making improvements to try and discourage these types from coming and attract more easygoing clientele. They have about 50 flat screen TVs showing anything from football to oprah, and the bartenders don't mind changing the channel if you ask. Regular drink prices are typical for the area, 3-4 dollar beers, but they have specials every night especially during football season they have dollar bottles on game nights. Pool pricing is by the hour per person and can get expensive if you play all night. But the tables are very well maintained and there are plenty of cues to go around. They have pool specials most nights as well. My favorite thing to do there is play darts. They have 5 dart boards and usually have a set you can borrow to play with (free btw). With the new no smoking laws in VA they turned the storage room into a smoking lounge so you don't have to go all the way outside into the cold. They also have pretty good food and their cheese fries are amazing! read more

It shouldn't have "Cafe" in its name. The food is awful, the music is too loud, and it's pretty dirty. The bartender was nice. There was poker, pool and darts going on while I was there but the layout didn't really make it easy to serve any of those customers. Great spot...crappy entrance! Getting in requires a slow one-floor elevator ride on a beat up elevator, but the place is nice when you get inside (I'm not a smoker, but there is a separate "smoking room" that seems to be pretty popular). All of the staff are fantastic - from the owner, Anthony, to the chefs and bar tenders (mostly very good looking, exceptionally professional, young ladies). Drinks are good and are bargain priced for the DC area. The food is good and portions are generous. Food is typical bar food - burgers, fries, potato skins, nachos, etc. - that is done well and very reasonably priced, but if you are looking for cordon bleu, look elsewhere. The music can be a bit too loud at times (mostly depending upon how close you are to the speakers), but generally it's about right (the music comes from a digitial juke box, which leads to a fairly ecclectic mix of music, which I like - country, to hip-hop, to classic rock, to modern pop). They specialize in pool (there are 8-10 tables) and darts (5-6 dart boards), so most evenings there are a decent number of folks there just to play. Overall, we enjoy really the entire experience there - great staff, fun regulars, good energy (very reasonable prices). read more

A hidden gem in Eastern Loudoun. It's a an adventure trying to find the place but once you've stepped inside, it's rather cozy. Food and service could have been better, but we were there for the CHEAP DRINKS and POOL TABLES. And we were not disappointed in that respect! First and foremost, First Break is about pool. Don't bring your date here. If you're serious about the game, you'll appreciate the tables. Players tend to hang around the first 4 tables as you enter the room, or around the pub tables/rail immediately overlooking the first 4 tables. League nights bring out a rather peculiar crowd, not my favorites but good people. Service is friendly; a bit slow when we went there but not so much as to be upsetting. We had wings and fries, both came out piping hot and tasty; my friends loved their wings. Sandwiches are decent, the BBq is recommended. The entrance is odd and can easily be missed, but you will have a nice time when you are here. This is in the most odd location. You enter the shopping center and it's in the back near the car repair. You walk into the building and have to take an elevator (which looks like it's been through about a bazillion fights -- security cam ripped down, dirty, old, etc) up to the 2nd floor. When you enter there are about 13 tables and a bar. No frills, just billiards. The draft beers are around $5, the cost of billiards isn't too expensive, and the music is loud as hell. The clientele was a mixed variety of thug, punk, and prep. I wouldn't start beef to begin with, as that's not my style.... but I definitely wouldn't mess with some of the characters I saw in there. Again, remember what I said about the elevator. My friend, upon entering said "so, we're going to go in an elevator and don't be surprised if you feel like you could be stabbed in there."
