What a great find within walking distance of the courthouses downtown! I love that the building has so much historic character--you can really feel its age in the best way. The staff was very friendly and helpful, and I was pleasantly surprised by how reasonable the prices were. My cinnamon honey matcha latte was delicious, and at only six dollars, I thought it was a great deal. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, with uplifting music, cozy couches, and even books to borrow if you want to relax and read. This spot has definitely become my new go-to whenever I'm downtown. I tried their iced horchata latte half sweet and boy howdy that thing was still sweeter than my granny. Yummy flavor though. If you're in the mood to drink Cinnamon Toast Crunch this drink will be your jam. The baristas were super sweet and helpful. The cafe is on the small side but still has some nice seating if you wanna chill.

Looking for a chill, cozy and inviting place to caffeinate in downtown this morning??? Look no further. This little gem is quiet, clean, and inviting, and just a stones throw away from some great eats and other downtown shenanigans!!! (And the courthouse, if need be, you naughty little so-and-so. ) The service is quick, and friendly, and the prep area is well organized and sparkling clean. After the rain last night, I even managed to take advantage of the bistro tables set up on the sidewalk outside, although I'd be remiss if I didn't mention the super cozy bar-style chairs at the bar by the front window. The London Fog latte I ordered hit the spot, and wasn't too sweet or over-steeped. In fact, the young lady working the counter (I didn't catch her name.) even gave me a suggested steeping time for it. Super cool touch. (Did I mention my latte paired well with a little Charlaine Harris this morning?? ) Check this place out. And tip them well. The folks here are legit.

I got a double expresso caramel macchiato. I couldn't taste the coffee at all as much the milk over powered the flavor. Ill have to try other coffee but it was ok service was awesome nice and friendly.

Such a refreshing environment and place to decompress. I stayed for about an hour, and enjoyed the atmosphere and the coffee. I would definitely come back again. There's a lot of very average coffee shops in downtown, but this is not one of them. This is a hidden gem and the coffee/staff make this place great.

We stopped in to Rio Dulce on a Saturday afternoon. From the outside it looks like it is going to be tiny, but bigger than it looks inside. We both ordered medium size drinks. I had the Horchata latte and she had the Harvest Light latte. Total cost for the two was $13.24 before tip. Atmosphere 3 - This shop is quaint and the historic building is cute. The location is questionable. There was a houseless person sleeping in the alcove next door. There are also cameras pointed in every direction inside so it feels like there may be some crime deterrent going on. We came in Feb 22 and the menu still had reindeer and Christmas lights on it. There were flowers on the bar, but they were probably from Valentine's Day. All of the roses were wilted and sad. There isn't a concerted effort to keep this place feeling fresh. Service 2 - When we arrived the two baristas were engaged in a conversation and didn't stop to say hello. We stood alone for several minutes before anyone acknowledged us and took our order. The barista was engaging when asked about the Horchata. Someone came in later and the barista knew his drink, so this seems like a place that caters to regulars. Cleanliness 2 - Its hard to tell how clean this old building is. It's one of those tiny tile floors that isn't going to look clean even when freshly mopped. The table we sat at was sticky and so we moved. We witnessed the staff go around and push seats in, but we never saw anyone wipe down tables. Parking 2 - Street parking is free on the weekends, pay during the week. The adjacent lot is not for the coffee shop, so park at your own risk. Taste 5 - This place delivers on taste! I ordered another drink on the way out. I can see why people stop. If I worked nearby, I'd probably stop every day. The latter was that good and the foam was amazing. If you like your coffee drinks hot, ask for extra hot. Mine was served like warm. Not sure, but the thermometer may need to be calibrated. Pastries 3 - Delivered locally "every couple of days" Variety 4 - Different sizes for every drink and lots of flavors and signature drinks to choose from. Latte art/presentation 1 - No branding or latte art for the drinks. Not even a business card we could take.

We are regulars here for sure. We generally walk down every Saturday morning to sit, sip, and chat while the world goes by. We always see neighbors and other regulars so you know it's not just us that loves this place. The staff and owners are friendly & knowledgeable and always welcoming- we can't recommend it enough. Sure, there's a S---bucks or two that we pass on our way here, but we prefer to support local.

Comfortable small coffee shop downtown. Great service. Very friendly staff. Fun weird interior. And horchata lattes! As well as a fun variety of unique seasonal flavors. And they have bags of their own beans (bbq notes, sure it's Texas!). Will return. Someday.

The service was excellent especially considering there was only one barista! The environment was great! Cute little shop. Good amount of space to study/work. The espresso was amazing! Great variety of flavors. Perfect milk to espresso ratio. Overall would recommend & come back many times!

This cafe had some interesting seating and a handy downtown location. They charged me extra for oat milk that they suggested, which wasn't entirely clear, but it was a good beverage, a seasonal strawberry matcha. My almond croissant didn't blow me away and was a tad dry. The community vibe was interesting, with locals who apparently lived near the people working there, businessmen/lawyers, a police officer, and of course a non-local tourist like me.

Staff: super kind. They answer all your questions without annoyance and really seem to enjoy helping you find what you'll like. Food: I've only tried the breakfast tacos. The potato taco made me return for a round two, but I was pretty disappointed by my bacon taco. Bland and my sauce had ice chunks in it... but the potato experience was great, so definitely will be returning with the assumption that the bacon day was an off day! Drinks: I got the same drink both times, but significantly different levels of quality. Pretty barista dependent I'm thinking. But one of them was 9/10!! My biggest reason for the 3 stars is the cleanliness of the cafe. With only 2 people working and the cafe decently busy, I get that they can't constantly be cleaning - but each table I tried was sticky. Just kinda gross and not ideal for a study spot! Definitely gonna give it a round 3! Updates to come.

I am all about customer service! The staff here didn't greet me when I walked in- they were preparing drinks- but I expect an "I'll be right with you", or something of that nature. When one of the staff stopped to take my order it was a quick "what can I get you"- not in a rude way just not personable or friendly, which is what I i was expecting based on reviews. Anyway, I ordered a latte and a cinnamon roll. Everything tasted great! The place is very cozy. I sat on the sofas in the back, they are comfy, but it was just a little awkwardly arranged. I Noticed someone using their laptop with it on their legs and I was thinking a better type of table would be better for this area. Overall it was a nice place to sit and relax and the smell of coffee is the best!!! read more

this was by far the best white mocha frappe i've ever had. i feel pricing was more than fair and service was even better. the environment is perfect for studying, they have several available outlets and different types of seating, wifi is fast and the music isn't loud enough to be distracting and somehow they had all of my favorite songs playing. parking is a bit unideal but that's to be expected for downtown. i also can't emphasize how kind the staff is definitely recommend for anyone looking for a new coffee shop to try! read more

We stopped in today while in the area, ordered an almond croissant and blueberry muffin. The croissant was standard but good. Blueberry muffin was good but kinda squishy, still tasted ok overall. My iced oat milk latte was really good. For me, the flavor of the coffee was rich and delicious. Coffee snob hubby had his usual quad shot almond milk latte. His feedback was, "eh" with his tongue stuck out as if to say it's ok but not the best. We were too busy at the moment for me to get further details since the subtle nuances of coffee (obviously missed by me most of the time) are always noticed to him. For my part, it had a really nice flavor. His reaction also told me he wouldn't be opposed to trying again if in the area, but would not go out of his way to go there - while I might. The only real bummer was no vegetarian breakfast food options. Pre-made food at these cafes is commonplace so I'm not mad about it. Just a little two cents for owners to consider. Vegans and vegetarians are a growing demographic and we will pay for your overpriced coffee shop grub if you offer it. (But please don't exploit "the V word" and charge us even more! This place has delicious coffee! I was trying to grab a cup of Joe to feel better over a bad meal and by golly did this place deliver!!! First off, customer service is extremely friendly and personable. They helped me with my coffee choice and even was able with a smile change my milk choice in the middle of making my coffee. I love the choices they provide for milk and sweeteners... even sugar free ones! I was delivered the coffee with love with a very beautiful design on top and they don't skimp as my coffee was at the tippy top of the cup. So I taste it then and there in order to get the top on it and my eyes dance in the back of my head. What a delicious taste of coffee and arrangement of sweetness and milk. My only gripe is no free parking. There's $5 anytime parking right next to it. But you know what I'll come back anyways for this great tasting coffee! read more

My husband and I live downtown and even though there are other coffee shops closer we always make the walk to vaquero because it is our favorite! Every coffee I've had there is the best coffee ever. My husband always gets the drip coffee and my favorite is the matchmaker. The aesthetic in there is really hip and cool and we love to go there and do homework. The good is good too! Try the chorizo and goat cheese sandwich or the klobanskis! This place is always 5 stars all around and we love that it is so close to us so we can go almost everyday! read more

This is definitely a unique place with a GREAT business sense! The owner (I think he's the owner) definitely knows what it takes to run a small business! This place is ADORABLE. The owner started chatting wIth us and actually talking to his customers.... like a human! No one does that anymore! I haven't even mentioned the coffee- add that into the great service and this place is perfect! The owner suggested the matchmaker latte with oat milk- and it was so good! Horchata Latte. That's it. That's all I have to say, but Yelp says I need to write more. On the corner of Houston St. Parking next to the building. Cozy little place. The girl asked husband what coffee place does he usually go to and he told him. Asked what does he usually get from there and said Mocha Moon. So from that she came up with an ice version of mexican hot chocolate. Impressive. It tasted just like mexican hot chocolate.. but iced. It was so good. You can taste the cinnamon, but it wasn't overpowering. It didn't have a bitter taste or an aftertaste. I got the horchata latte and it was so amazing. I loved it. Definitely tastes like horchata. The best coffee I've had since being back from Houston. read more

Stopped by this coffee shop when I was in Ft Worth for a wedding, pretty small but great coffee and service. My boyfriend and I had a specialty latte and my mom had their regular coffee - we were all very happy with our caffeine and the service! I didn't love Ft Worth (sorry) - but I loved this place! read more

Latte we ordered weren't very good and they were lukewarm at best. The customer service was terrible asked about the breakfast taco we ordered and we're told "well whatever ". Told him it was for here and one latte was put in a to go cup. Turned the lattes and the pastry back to the employee and left. Will not return or recommend to others. read more

Took Tex-Rail to Fort Worth and decided to try out this coffee shop. We had the Horchata Latte and Matchmaker Latte. Both were really good but Horchata was favorite. The shop is quite small. All the tables were taken when we arrived so we took ours to go. The staff was very friendly and helpful. read more

Cute and convenient. Ran in to grab a latte before catching a ride to work during a business trip and was pleased to find oat and soy milk offered. Great friendly service, neighborhood feel. The latte was ok - despite pulling extra shots still weaker than I usually like and a little cold for me but delicious nonetheless! read more

This place is real local, the owner and staff are friendly, kind and happy to make recommendations. Like super local I met the owners father on my second visit the same day, you won't get that at most places. =] I had their breakfast taco, hot vanilla latte, and iced horchata latte. Everything was delicious and the espresso was smooth- not burnt. They had simple live music and the environment was real rustic and chill. It's not far from the main square but it's worth the short walk to find it. They take pride in where they source their coffee and are knowledgeable on their product. Order the: (4) BREAKFAST TACOS and an ICE HORCHATA LATTE for a happy light breakfast. read more

Cute little place! Offered gender neutral bathroom! Flavor infused water, and feee WiFi! I ordered a late and it was perfectly made! They made it to go for me.... and I ordered the cinnamon roll they warmed it for me, and it was tasty but I will try something different next time. read more

I love this coffee shop. We wandered in one day in need of caffeinating and the owner Chris made me a delicious iced Caramel latte and it was good. I love the flavor of the caramel, you can tell the coffee is made with care and lots of attention to detail. While he was making the coffee, Chris was telling us about the building and the history behind it. Def a place to check out if you're ever in the area! read more

Had a Vanilla Latte today. The coffee was fresh and no bitter aftertaste. My other co-workers got a mocha and regular coffee and loved it!! Will definitely start going here!! Thank you guys so much for making a coffee place that is great!! Next time we will have to try the food!!! read more

This place is small quiet great coffee. Love the atmosphere and the girls that work here are awesome with great conversation. Love finding shops like this they are a jewel. We had a macchiato and a doppio. Come in on Thursday they have live music. read more

One of the best coffee shops in Ft. Worth. The place is small and cozy so its perfect for meeting up with friends, but its also quiet enough to study. One of the only coffee shops that doesn't play music and isn't overly loud. It can get tricky to get a spot because it is on the smaller side. The service was really good and they were really helpful in helping us decide what to get. They even let us sample the horchata mix before we ordered. As for coffee and food, I got the iced horchata latte was so so so good. I definitely recommend it-- the best coffee in the city. I also got their tomato, mozzarella, pesto sandwich which was really good as well. I will definitely come back here. A definite favorite in my book. read more

I'm from out of town and I stopped in before I hit the road. I'm really not much of a coffee drinker so I'm still learning what I like and don't like and the barista's were amazing. There are a handful of places that have mastered the art of perfect coffee. I believe this place is one of them. I've been here twice now, and waited for a return trip with my wife (she is a complete coffee snob) before leaving a review. You can argue about the location, whether or not you like the decor or if you're keen on a getting your coffee from a homegrown establishment, but if you are enjoying coffee at Vaquero in Fort Worth, you will not be able to argue that you aren't simply drinking one of the top 3 lattes of your life. To put it bluntly, the guys here know what the hell they are doing when it comes to coffee. I don't know where their beans come from or what kind of voodoo sorcery they are up to, but you can't help but notice from the first sip that you are tasting something special. My wife and I used to live in Portland, and there were some superb small shops up there that just did coffee right. I'm surprised to say that this place does the same. I don't think you'll find better coffee in Fort Worth, very possibly in DFW. My wife and I hope this place remains our little secret, but with what they're putting in the cup at Vaquero, that's a pipe dream at best. read more

I saw that this place had just opened up so I decided to give it a try. Starbucks has kinda had the monopoly on coffee in Sundance and its nice to see another shop open up. I am an iced coffee diva so it's nice having other options than Starbucks (which is sometimes chalky). I ended up ordering the medium iced coffee and it was nice and smooth The prices here are cheaper than Starbucks too; a medium iced coffee was about $2.44 while the medium iced coffee at Starbucks is about $3.00. The staff was also very friendly. I'll definitely be getting coffee here more often and I would recommend giving this place a try! read more

Vaquero Coffee Company opened on July 27th, 2018. We thrive because of local support and building relationships with our customers over a cup of coffee; relationship coffee as we like to call it. Drawing inspiration from familiar drinks and modern espresso and coffee processes, we focused our menu on the coffee first and what would go well with its widely loved, natural flavors.

Howdy! I'm Jonathan, the brains and heart behind Rio Dulce Coffee. Hailing from the charming town of Southlake, Texas, I've always had a passion for bringing people together over a great cup of joe. In 2018, I launched Vaquero Coffee Co, a cozy spot nestled near the banks of the Trinity River in beautiful downtown Fort Worth. After five rewarding years of serving our community, I felt it was time for a refresh. Inspired by our picturesque location and the tranquil flow of the nearby Trinity River, I knew Rio Dulce was the perfect name for our reimagined venture. I also want to note one thing I really enjoyed about this syrup, or the flavoring was that it was sieved or concentrated, sometimes when you're making a syrup at home, you get bits of blueberry throughout it and while I don't mind those this made for a nice smooth, drink with no chunks coming up in my straw. The nice thing about the moon milk is you can get it in levels for instance 'half moon' which would be about 50% sweet. The staff was attentive, and got my order out quickly. I was there less than 10 minutes from start to finish.
