I tried their lavender latte, oat milk latte (extra hot), and of course their drip coffee because you cannot judge a coffee shop without trying the drip. The latte was just as good, creamy with proper foam and a smooth lavender flavor that did not overpower the coffee. It's in a great location in downtown Fort Worth and is a beautiful space. It's peaceful, it's meditative, and there's lofi hip-hop bumping through the speakers. On my quiet comedown, it was exactly what I needed. I ordered their spring menu's White Rose Latte out of curiosity. There were actual roses in it. They aren't liars. I got it hot like I typically do, and the one-man band running the shop was on top of it. The coffee was pretty good. It had a solid balance of milk to espresso, and the flavors didn't overpower the espresso like a lot of coffee shops try to do. You can tell they know their ratios when it comes to pulling the perfect shot. Good energy is what you want after a city run, and good energy is what Sons of Liberty Coffee provided.

They also shared that the employee helping me was in her first week, which gave helpful context to the situation. As a kind gesture, they sent me a $10 gift card, which I thought was very thoughtful. When I came back in to use it, they recognized my name from the situation and took the time to talk with me in person and explain everything again. That really meant a lot and showed how much they care about their customers. Customer service and communication go a long way, and I'm grateful for the way they handled everything. I'm looking forward to continuing to support them. Old review: Melby's has really great drinks and the atmosphere is honestly one of the reasons I keep going back. It's a cozy spot and the coffee itself is consistently good. That said, the customer service can be hit or miss. The employees often come across as a bit unpleasant, which takes away from the experience. One thing that's especially frustrating is their refusal to allow personal cups. Almost every other coffee shop I visit is happy to accommodate this, and it doesn't require much effort, many places simply set the cup on the counter and pour the drink without even touching it. It's a small thing, but it makes a difference for customers who are trying to reduce waste or just prefer using their own cup. There was a sizeable chicken breast. Not dry but also not too flavorful by itself but that's okay. The pesto really delivered on the flavor with a savory, nutty, and slightly herbal flavor. In the future, I'd love to try a one of their many drinks - non-alcoholic and alcoholic included!

Another time, they just forgot my drink (it was the only thing in my order) & there were no other order left... the group was again chatting away with with each other, then during another visit they forgot my croissant. Each time they did apologize, but three out of four times aren't good odds. I probably won't frequent this location as much, but I will stop by once in awhile because their drinks are worth it.
