Below mid Tex Mex -- nothing to write home about! A few friends and I stopped in for an early dinner. Definitely make reservations, because it gets busy! The restaurant is very large though, so there's plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. I ordered the Cheese and Onion Enchiladas. They were a bit bland and there really wasn't much flavor. It was served hot, which I appreciated! Overall, wasn't particularly impressed and probably wouldn't return!

Garbage! The food is disgusting. Don't waste your $. The only decent thing is the patio!

Rio Mambo is always a hit! The food is delectable, prices are reasonable and the service is A-1. Great place to stop in for lunch or a cozy dinner. Family vibes are there too. I miss it and need to get back soon!

4/2025 only happy hour menu and only current promotion or special

Attended hh on on April 1, 2025, which was a Tuesday. I'd previously checked the company website and they were offering the Tuesday night family meal deal that they have offered for several years. Upon arriving, I was told that menu no longer existed. Also Tuesday Thursday is gone. No current weekly specials. Additionally happy hour menu changed. They have a short and condensed menu offering no meal entrées. Just a few simple appetizers. The service was OK however it appears that the service at the bar is secondary and based on the fact that many people walked in and when they learned there was no Tuesday night meal deal anymore they left. The one shining light is the margarita prices are fair and they are good. Additionally, you can get a shot of well tequila for five bucks at happy hour. If you sit at the bar, be careful when I was sitting at the bar at the top of my barstool broke from the bottom and the chair fell back, luckily employing cat like reflexes I was able to grab the bar and put my feet on the bar rail and not fall back and smash my head. I will not be returning to this restaurant only because of the lack of what appears to be control of the menus based upon statements made by the manager. Additionally, the location isn't the best traffic wise and of course I don't need help falling off a barstool.

This was my first time at this rio mambo, I have tried another spot previously. We split the appetizer platter which was delicious as you can try the nachos, quesadillas and chicken Laura's, all great. Then we split the taco plate we asked for hard tacos and did beef it was really good, served with rice and beans. We sat at the bar and our service was good. My hubby had the margaritas flight I had a mambellini all the flavors were delicious. It was quiet the day we went but it's big in the inside and has modern decor. I'd definitely come back

Rio mambo is one of our favorite places, we come here every few weeks. It's been a family favorite for the last 10+ years! Love the chips and salsa.

We have tried this place for a couple of times and love the food and service is great. The managers came by to ckeck on all the tables, making sure things are going well. The patio is nice and spacious, perfect for brunch and happy hours when the weather is nice. They also offer a great week day happy hour with drink and food specials.

Sold Tex Mex. We've come here and always had a good meal and service. Patio is really nice and worth checking out!

This past weekend, my family and I visited Rio Mambo. The ambience was on point, and the food was absolutely delicious! Everything we ordered was fresh, flavorful, and perfectly cooked. Our server was amazing--kind, patient, and so attentive. The general manager even came by just to see how things were going, and you don't do that often at restaurants so we really did appreciate that. The entire atmosphere was welcoming, and we can't wait to come back again!

The best brunch experience! Neydalin ( Naydalin ?), was so kind and patient with us , zero rush and she helped us to substitute sides and add a pancake etc . Super food , and we had wonderful service. Going to add this one to the rotation

I am actually very surprised I have not ever been here having been a resident of Grapevine/Colleyville for quite some time. It was really delicious! We came during lunch on a Tuesday and the atmosphere was that of a typical Tex Mex restaurant. Everything was clean and orderly and smelled amazing. As for the service, it was exceptional. We were a table of 3 that had many food allergies and our waitress was very patient, accommodating and we all received our orders as requested. I had the fajita beef tacos on corn tortillas and no onion - it was so good I forgot to take a picture and had to take one of my daughters instead. Hands down one of the most filling and tasty taco plates I've gotten from the Tex mex restaurants around town. Salsa was fresh, chips were crispy, I don't think you can ask for much more!

    Outdoor patio, uncovered seating.

Shortly later our drinks were brought to us and the servers returned for our appetizer order, which we declined and went straight to the meals. I ordered the Barbacoa Taco plate. My tacos were moist and easy to eat, I added a little of the chip salsa to each which added to the flavor. I thought the rice and beans were well done as well. I did try some of my sons Mole Enchiladas. They had a chocolate flavor. He enjoyed them. The music, the decor and the layout are done nicely. They have a limited menu so be aware of that, but what they have they do it well. Chicken Fajitas: Doesn't come out smoking hot which I would've wanted but it had great flavor. It was boujee fajitas for sure lol. A bit spicy but I enjoyed that. 8/10 Tacos: a little dry but again had great flavor. 8/10 Queso; tasty but didn't come out super hot, it was kind of clumpy. 6/10 Horchata: omg so good must get 10/10

A Home-Cooked Feel with a Few Rough Edges…read more My first visit to Dona Maria started on a positive note with a warm, friendly greeting that made me feel welcome right away. I ordered the Calisticas with chicken and the Pernil (braised pork). The crispy plantains were one of the highlights of the meal, providing a nice texture and crunch. The pork was tender and juicy, although I unexpectedly encountered a large bone joint in one portion. The chicken cups were less successful. They were noticeably oily and lacked the juicy, flavorful bite I was expecting. The standout flavor of the meal was actually the chimichurri sauce. It added brightness and depth, and I found myself pouring it over nearly everything on the plate. Overall, the experience felt very much like eating at a friend's home--comforting, unpretentious, and made with care. That home-style atmosphere extended to the food preparation as well, which appeared informal (I did see prep without gloves) and may not appeal to guests who expect a more polished restaurant experience. While there were some enjoyable elements, particularly the hospitality, plantains, pork, and chimichurri, the execution of several dishes was inconsistent. A decent meal with a welcoming spirit, but not one that fully lived up to its potential.

It's heated in the winter and cranked cold in the summer, so it actually works year-round, which is not something you can say about most patios in Texas. The margaritas are amazing. They really do have something for everyone, including classic Mexican dishes alongside the Salvadoran side of the menu. Service has always been impeccable. I'm not sure I've ever walked in and gotten a bad experience, at any location. But if I'm not starving and I just want the thing I actually crave, it's the pupusas and plantains. Since I can't handle spicy food at all, I had to carefully remove the chopped jalapeños, but there weren't too many, and I was still able to enjoy the dish fully. For my main course, I had the Tropical Salad topped with skirt steak. The honey balsamic vinaigrette paired beautifully with both the steak and the fruit. The meat was tender and of good quality, and I was very pleased with it. My husband ordered the chimichanga.
