Batting cages at Free Stone Park. 3 options for the speed of the pitch.

My work held its annual picnic at Free Stone Park. I knew the Park had rides for the younger kids but I had no idea about the batting cages. My son had a blast. Equipment like Helmets and bats are provided. I believe there were 3 different speeds of pitches. You can pay per round or do $15 for a half hour which I think is the best deal because you can keep going and going. Snacks and drinks were also sold inside in case you get thirsty. Easy low maintenance fun. There is also shade for when it gets hot outside.

We had the best time for a little family date night. Reasonably priced and fun date night or great for kids.

Machines are very inconsistent and are faster than what's on the sign. Not good if you want to just get some good swings.

I LOVED HOW NONE OF MY WOOD BATS BROKE It took me a few rounds to get my timing down. Those foam balls fly and give a satisfying "Crack" off my wood bats when properly barrelled. Ended the day with 10 rounds in the 80mph cage and cant wait till im in town again to make a follow-up cage appearance. Fun staff good food and a great time had by all the kiddos ( 8yo& 2yo girls... and a 46yo man-child who visits several local cages, multiple times a week as my, "Therapy Sesh."

They have what seems like countless batting cages of all speeds for both baseball and softball. And they offer two mini bowling alleys with a handful of multi-player shooting games, air hockey, and some baseball throwing games! Want to see how hard you can punch? They have that game there too. Want to dance? Then go play Dance Dance Revolution! Want to play some multi-player basketball shooting games? They've got you covered! I could spend hours at Taroko! They also offer food and drinks, so maybe next time I will get some chicken wings to power me up for a few hours of game playing! So much fun at so little cost - go to Taroko... now!! *****FIVE STARS*****

There is a $5 gate fee for anyone over the age of 16. They have 8 fields which have been built as replicas of famous ballparks and the field offers stadium style seating. Sliders sports grill is located on the north and south side of the complex. You can watch your childs game from inside of the restaurant from the windows, which is pretty awesome. You don't have to miss your child's game if you're grabbing a bite to eat or needing to go inside to cool off. Bring some cash for their gaming machines inside of the restaurant. The bar only offers seltzers and beer. Their Ben's soft pretzels are the best! If you like white queso, get a side of this for your pretzel, yum! We have enjoyed all of their food, so far nothing was bad. If your child needs some batting practice, check out their batting cages near the main entrance of the park. They have a playground located next to the south restaurant. This is a plus for children who are not in a tournament to entertain themselves. I do wish there was a playground next to the north restaurant. My son usually plays on north side so my 5 year old can't go over to the playground unless someone is willing to supervise. The complex also offers your indoor sports programs year around. They offer indoor soccer league play, soccer skills training, lacrosse, preschool classes and yoga. See you in the near future!

It has large fields with fun backdrops, an indoor restaurant with seats by the window so you can enjoy the game with air conditioning on those hot AZ days, and indoor bathrooms! They also serve beer, including a couple of craft beers on draft. That was exciting to me because I've never been able to drink a beer while watching a girls' softball tournament. I got a hazy IPA from Four Peaks, along with chicken tenders and fries. The chicken was good. Fries were lightly battered, which is not my preference, but they were still pretty good. Finished my food inside, but went back out to the stadium seats because you can't hear the game from inside, so it wasn't as exciting to watch. Notes: -For any tournaments hosted by outside organizations (not the town of Gilbert), there is a $5 fee at the gate for non-Gilbert residents age 16 and over. They do ask to see ID. -Online it says no food or drink allowed, except for water.

It was about the perfect amount of activity for us as we got to try each of the activities once. There's about 8 active games including a batting game, tennis game, QB throw, field goal kick, boxing, skiing, soccer and more. Most of the games have a scoreboard that will display your score and have the top scores of the all time, weekly and daily. It's fun to see your name up on the scoreboard even when your score may be pretty brutal compared to the all-time greats. The staff was very helpful in checking us in and letting us know how each game works. There's a few games that are pretty simple and others that require some setting up (like getting boots and strapped in for the skiing. I enjoyed the QB throw the most but it looked like the bouncy basketball court was the most popular while we were there. We went on the Friday night and it wasn't very crowded...only have to wait maybe 5 minutes for any activity to open up. The place was pretty clean except I did notice they didn't spray down to clean the batting helmets after each person...that was kind of gross to put on the helmet and feel some sogginess. This may be a fun place for holding a birthday party for kids as they have ice cream, cereal and party rooms overlooking the area. For me it's probably a one and done visit, but we need more places like this where kids and families and have some good indoor activities besides bounce parks.
