Even more concerning, when my child had issues with other kids being abusive . staff did nothing to address it. There were also serious concerns about staff behavior and overall supervision that made me question whether this is an appropriate or safe environment for children at all. I would not recommend this place to any parent. They need major changes in staffing, accountability, and basic professionalism.

My older son would come home angry and sad. He was regularly put in timeouts and had his playtime taken away for what they called "bad behavior." They even claimed he had choked another child at just three years old, which was shocking and completely out of character. He would cry and beg not to go. That's when we knew we had to make a change. From the moment we toured KinderCare, we felt a difference. The staff was welcoming, professional, and genuinely caring. They also accept 4Cs, which was a huge help. From day one, my son came home smiling. He has been happy to go every single day since. His teacher, Emily, has been especially wonderful. She's patient, kind, and really understands my strong-willed child. She works with him thoughtfully and helps him thrive in a way that feels supportive rather than punitive. She's been instrumental in helping him adjust and grow. KinderCare also recently welcomed my one-year-old, and again, the experience has been amazing. I could tell from the very first day that he had a great time with the staff and the other children. It gave me so much peace of mind to know that both my kids are happy, safe, and truly cared for. KinderCare doesn't just supervise children--they see them, understand them, and support them as individuals. I can't recommend them highly enough!

Communication with the director, Kenzie, and assistant director, Rosie, was immediate, considerate and thorough. Our eldest was fully prepared for kindergarten when she graduated from TLE. She understood classroom dynamics and expectations, and she had mastered measurable skills in language, reading, math and art. Our youngest was loved and nurtured during his time at TLE, and the teachers were incredible at supporting us during potty-training and different developmental stages. Our children were given sugar almost everyday. We followed them on Facebook and saw that they were getting donuts, cookies, and sweets several times a week. We never signed a photo release waiver (even though they sent one home to us several times) and our kids were repeatedly posted on their Facebook page. Not okay, and so disrespectful. The kids were rewarded with otter pops if they napped. More sugar. We raise our kids to listen and respect their teachers, not do things because they will be rewarded with sugar. Our kids are potty trained. They were both sent home in their pull ups from nap on more occasions than I can count. Nap time starts at 12:30, and I would pick them up at 4/430. That's way too long to be in a pull up! One of my kids had a pull up so soiled it went through her pants. As if that's not enough, both our kids were sent home with dirty underwear. Fecal matter in their underwear several times. Our kids weren't being wiped thoroughly after having a bowel movement. I'll spare posting those photos, but I have several photos of all these events as I was starting to get very frustrated. There was one occasion where I picked my children up and one of them had peed their pants and the teacher had no idea. Lastly, I strongly felt one of my kids was mistreated and her self esteem was compromised due to the way she was treated behind closed doors. Over the weekends she's said things like " I don't want to go to yellow preschool. It's closed today" (yellow preschool being little angels). One time we were reading together and she stopped the book and said, "sorry is not enough". When I asked where she heard that she said yellow preschool. Who tells a 3 year old sorry is not enough, when they are trying to apologize? Nauseating. One of my kids said that miss Jessie yelled at her sister. Teachers are never suppose to yell at their students, ever. What does that teach the children? It makes me sick to think my kids were in that environment. I'm not one to leave negative Yelp reviews. Check my profile, I've literally only left 5 stars. My concern for children attending this school is what has lead to this post. I give it two stars. One for convenience as they got them in quick and they are located 3 minutes from our home. The other star is for Mrs. Jennifer who my children enjoyed most. Both Jody and Gail cultivate a nurturing, explorative, and positive environment you cannot find anywhere else. Nestled in the countryside between Sebastopol and Santa Rosa, Plum Oaks is the perfect setting for your kids to learn and explore their surroundings. Preschool age educational activities, gardening, feeding animals, and outdoor play are just a few of the things your child will experience at Plum Oaks. Both Gail and Jody are "toddler whispers" and know how to positively communicate with your child for their age level. My husband and I have learned a lot from both of them. Now that our boys entered elementary school, we feel that Plum Oaks helped prepare them for the transition. We miss the entire Plum Oaks family and couldn't recommend their childcare highly enough. The kids play outside often which I believe helped my child not catch colds as easily and run around a lot. What I appreciate most about the school is that my child learned many songs, alphabets all while having great playtime with new friends and getting creative with seasonal crafts. She gets very excited to share with me what she learned and teaches me as well! There are plenty of kind teachers to watch and care for the kids, and they all know my child by name. Also what was very important for me was nutrition: the snacks they make and provide are healthy: yogurt and blueberries, nut or seed butter with crackers, fruits, veggies...
