Rise Comedy with the famous Nick Armstrong who has been on tv shows like Young Sheldon, Grey's Anatomy, Parks & Rec, and more!

If you are in Denver you NEED to visit RISE which has the best comedy in town. Nick Armstrong and Josh Nicols are improv veterans who have helped run multiple theaters in LA. They saw an opportunity and decided to move to Denver to run their own place. It's been a while since they took over and rebranded Voodoo Comedy and my lord they are a well oiled machine. They have a FULL bar with thirst quenching drinks, hilarious shows(I recommend BATMAN LIVE and Basement Doctors), friendly staff, and an intimate theater that is conducive for laughs. They just built state of the art classrooms and if you haven't taken an improv class it is something EVERYONE should do at least once because it will change your life. Just ask Nick, Josh, or any of the performers at the theater.

We went to their happy hour show and had a good time. I'd stick to the beer next time because I had quite the salty ranch water. I'm curious to check out some of their other shows!

SO FUNNY. Went to an improv show on Saturday at 6pm. Don't really watch improv much personally but love a good comedy show. These guys were hilarious. Will be checking out more improv shows once back in Houston!

Fun for our friend's 60th birthday! Would go again! Nice intimate place! The owner is a great!

Rise Comedy is a great venue for comedy! I am a DC-based improviser, but was in town and decided to stop by on a Friday night for a Friends of Friends show, where the owners (Nick Armstrong and Josh Nicols) invite people to play with them for an hour-long set. It was such a fun show! I love that they have a full bar (normally improv theaters have beer and wine if you're lucky). It seemed the bartenders were a bit in the weeds as I approached right before the fourth show of the night, but they were attentive and got my cider quickly. The bar and patio are a great space to hang out to boot. I haven't taken any in-person classes at Rise, but I have taken a bunch of virtual classes over the past year, and they're really high quality classes. I can't speak to the introductory classes, but their advanced/specialized study classes are fantastic. I've gotten to work with a lot of incredibly talented teachers thanks to Rise. Take an improv class and support this fantastic business!

Great staff of mostly volunteers who love what they do almost as much as they love comedy! Awesome nonalcoholic options & delicious drinks, + welcoming atmosphere!

Marcus is the BEST bartender, such a kind soul with immaculate taste! Try his cold toddy, delicious! Rise is always a blast, come support!

This was a great spot to stop in after a "date night" dinner with friends... Low entry prices, 90 Shillings on tap and night full of giggles. We will be back...perhaps to take a class.

Great place for a casual date night, and all the comedians were funny! I highly recommend to see local talent!

Enjoying our drinks before the show started.

A great time and a great deal! I like that one ticket can get you in for the whole night and the full bar makes it an even better night.

Anybody who's come out of Colorado to become a big name has gone through those doors to play on the little stage. From local to traveling acts, from punk bands and karaoke talent to gritty stand-up and flirty burlesque, this place has it. If you're up for a night that doesn't stink of ordinary, swing through that creaky door and take in a most memorable evening. If there is a cover, it's usually nominal. Drinks are cheap, served by a great crew that's always up for a laugh and cheers. Sometimes hitting the town isn't about getting fancy but just kicking back, and this is a great place to do just that off the mainstream treads.

The interior is small but I like how the bar is set up kind of in a rectangle so you're actually facing some other people (maybe awkward, but feels more communal?) They had an inexpensive menu of basic beers. They were out of the drink I wanted so the bartender made me a creation that I guess is something the doorman likes - not bad, and I think it was about $10 which is pretty decent for a mixed drink. I noticed a big red counter/clock on the wall across from us and after a few seconds we deduced it was a decibel meter. I'm curious if they have restrictions here for noise - AOK by me. The volume was generally alright (a little loud but what isn't?) and they actually had a sound guy in the corner making sure the volume and quality sounded good. Overall had a very decent Saturday night here.

Their policy for cell phones and smart watches where you need to put them in a sealed security bag is kind of a pain, but I'm guessing there's good reason for it. We might just leave everything at home or in the car next time. There is a two item minimum for each person, but we ended up with three each. My wife had two glasses of the house cab and one Butter Baby Java, which is a hot coffee drink with butterscotch schnapps and other stuff too. I had a house manhattan, which was ok, a Butter Baby Java, and one of the other coffee drinks...showed up as Coffee Tail on the receipt, but the name had more to it than that. That one was my favorite. Next time, I might just stick with that. All in all, fun night. Convenient to get to and home from, about as good service and drinks as you could expect, and funny comedians. Guessing we'll be back next time someone we like is in town.

I was pleasantly surprised by how clever, risqué, and funny this show was. We attended the Alice in Wonderland show and it was the perfect mix of sexiness and comedy. We got the VIP seats right up next to the stage, but from looking around, it appears there are very few "bad" seats in the house, maybe a seat or two behind some columns. My friends and I laughed and clapped and cheered. The performances were top notch. The drinks weren't gourmet cocktails, but that's not expected. I got a pretty good sized mule and dark n stormy and my friend's husband enjoyed his many martinis. The performers were kind enough take photos with us at the end of the evening. So down to earth. I also had a great experience with their staff. Early in the year I purchased two tickets in hopes of getting a good table. Then months later, they introduced the VIP tickets right next to the stage. I purchased three of those (I had added two friends by then) and the company was kind enough to refund my two regular tickets. They were very prompt and professional in emails. Regular tickets were 50-ish, VIP tickets were 70-ish. Worth every penny. No photos or videos during the production, but they allow for some photos and video at the end.
