My husband and I came for brunch after church one morning. The service was a little slow and it wasn't super busy, but we are understanding of that knowing that sometimes people call off and this is also a newer restaurant, so maybe they haven't figured out staffing yet. We enjoyed our breakfast. We had the beignets and they were a little crispier than I would've liked. I ordered a breakfast sandwich, which was pretty basic. Rise is a really nice spot--well decorated and very clean. Service was prompt right from the start and stayed solid throughout. We actually came for oysters, which was a bit disappointing to find out they only serve oysters on the half shell on Fridays and Saturdays. That said, the charcuterie board was a standout--beautifully put together and really well done. I had the Chicago-style hot dog, which surprisingly didn't come with mustard like you'd expect, but it was still very good. The Michigan salad was fresh and excellent. Only knock was the tenderloin sliders--the buns were a bit over-grilled, which took away from them a little. Overall, service was excellent and the experience was strong. Rise lounge is quickly one of my new fav places to go. It has a relaxing atmosphere and the food and drinks are to die for. I would recommend if you are looking for a menu with a wide variety of foods to go elsewhere but for a girls night where you are okay with a small menu it is great! (Just review it prior to going to make sure everyone has something they like) The service both times I have gone has been fantastic. No wait and it was later on a Friday and Saturday nights. I cannot wait to come back and am excited for summer to come and the rooftop to open up. read more

The ahi heat and bbq burnt ends were decent but not great. To the eye, they weren't pleasing. We felt the Ahi tuna should've been presented more delicately. And burnt ends were under the heat lamp a little too long as the barbecue sauce looked baked. The Pearl martini and service were excellent. Made by Sophia. Great natural lighting and ambiance in the restaurant. Unique brunch menu, we started with the breakfast arancini and I had a breakfast bowl and strawberry cheesecake pancakes. Everything was great, arancini was an awesome way to start, breakfast bowl was solid, the potatoes and grilled onions were really complimentary to the bowl. The sauce on the pancakes was a perfect way to balance it and wasn't too sweet. Ruby was a great server, she was quick and attentive. This is a new brunch spot located in Lake Orion. My sister and I wanted to get together for brunch and when our kids said they wanted to come with us we gladly obliged. They do not take reservations and this place gets packed. We were able to put our names in and they text you when your table is ready. We went next door to sage brush for a margarita while we waited. They told us 30 minutes but it only ended up being 15. That was definitely a bonus. They had a lot of unique choices for drinks so that was fun. They even made my sister a special drink that wasn't on the menu. The drinks took some time so just be patient. They were all delicious! The food menu was great! There were a ton of choices. I love eggs Benedict so I was excited to see several variations of it. I ended up with Southern Style which was a biscuit with a sausage patty poached egg and sausage gravy. I'm very picky about my biscuits and gravy and they did a wonderful job with them. Everyone devoured their food. Our waitress was great and even took pictures of us. The restaurant itself is small but charming. They have a little area that our sons hung out in and played connect four and tick tac toe in. I was really hoping to like this place, but was disappointed in the food and the service. It started when I had made a reservation for my mom's birthday brunch and specifically asked for seating on the main floor. When I arrived they started to take us upstairs which I had to correct. Service was OK, but disinterested. Food came from the kitchen which one dish having jam with toast and one that didn't. French toast was served without syrup and had to be requested. The food quality was mediocre. The omelets seemed overcooked-with less than fresh ingredients. The goat cheese completely overwhelmed one of the omelets. The cheese grits had one bite of cheese on the top, but the balance of the dish were bland and cheese-less. The breakfast sandwich was underwhelming-about the same as a fast food egg muffin. And sadly, the Cinnamon French toast was uninspired with little cinnamon and not anything special. The golden mimosa was tasty and well presented.The space is cute and comfortable, but the rest of the experience left us disappointed. Finally, the reservation when made asked if brunch was a special event. I had noted we were celebrating a birthday. The birthday was never acknowledged by host or wait staff. Best not to ask patrons about reason for visit-it set the expectation of acknowledgement of the birthday which never happened, which was a surprise and a little disappointing.Maybe it was an off day and I may give it another chance, but LO has other great brunch spots so Rise needs to rise to the occasion! read more

Sat the downstairs bar. Great ambiance. Not crowded but not empty. Parking is getting nearly impossible in Lake Orion on a Saturday night. Ordered vodka drinks, The Pearl and The Emerald Hour. Both exceptional. Ordered the Prime Tenderloin Trio sliders and the Ahi Heat. The sliders were good, and the onions weren't overpowering. The aioli was fantastic. The beef, however, was a bit on the chewy side, which was a bit distracting. (Think: having to bite down hard and pull the burger away and hope it doesn't all come sliding out). The Ahi Heat was a masterpiece. Fresh ingredients, some heat from the jalapeños, all balanced by the tuna and the rice, and beautifully presented with microgreens as a garnish. The rice was very good, nearly a rice pilaf, but perfectly crispy. Service at the bar was great, not slow, not rushed. It set a relaxed tone. Zac mixes a mean drink and tells a meaner dad joke. The atmosphere is laid back. Some folks dressed up, some more casual. We didn't make it to the bar upstairs, but we will for sure come back and try that. I heard they have a lounge with a fireplace? Yes please. For being new, Rise Lounge is doing it right already. Looking forward to our return. read more

Another restaurant that looks good from the outside but has terrible low quality food. The space is new and the ambiance is decent. Menu looks promising. But the execution is just not great. The burger patty is obviously a frozen patty, the fries are soggy and lukewarm. The eggs Benedict are smothered in a sauce that seems store bought, flavors are bland. Just seems like overpriced Gordon food service stuff. It's a shame that these new restaurants can't get the food right. The service was good but the prices are crazy for the quality of food they are serving. Not impressed and won't return. read more

Tonight's visit wasn't planned, we happened to be walking by on our way to another restaurant. We decided to pop in and check it out. We were greeted very warmly by the host - he did an excellent job sharing menus and reasons for us to come try it out. So we did... Sat at the bar and had the Tuna rice cakes and Prime beef sliders. The "Ahi Heat" Tuna app was great, I mean it's a 11/10 on the scale. Hoping the environment will soon catch up to the vibe. Would love so see a more "lounge" feel vs the old Anita's kitchen set up. They've got a fabulous line up of wines and cocktails at as well. Although the martini pour was a lot smaller than what we get at other restaurants , and at a cost of $17. That's the main reason we may not be going back for a while. read more

We went to Rise Lounge on a Saturday evening with another couple. It was busy when we visited, which always feels like a good sign. The drinks were excellent and clearly crafted with care. The food was absolutely delicious and packed with flavor in every bite. Even with a full crowd, the staff handled everything smoothly and did a great job. Our waitress Nicole was great. However, the manager needs to learn a lesson that you don't reprimand or yell at employees in front of customers. I feel sorry for the employees that work under her. Beware when you pay the handheld credit card reader they hand you automatically goes to a higher tip. They stand there and watch you while you tip. We went brunch the waitress was very rude. And the tables and chairs are dirty . Some staff wears their hair down and looks dirty. The food is very overpriced. We watched people come in get seated and then decide to walk out due to the bad service. Another couple had to be reseated due to dirty table and were understandably unhappy when they got seated at another dirty table. Don't waste your money or your time. Wife and friend went for brunch. No place to park. Food was cold. May need some work on their communication between the kitchen and servers.

we got to RL without a plan and ended up staying for dinner! As I waited for my party on Saturday after the No Kings rally I was seated at the upstairs bar where the bartender (I wish id gotten his name) set me up with a refreshing mocktail and a lovey plate of sweet heat sliders. The bartending team guided us to a table as our party of 4 showed up and waiter Jet took over with 2 plates of the tenderloin sliders, 2 soups, the Salmon Fresca and an order of Truffle fries, all delivered and evaporated ( it had been a long cold day). Additional drinks were the Godfather Whiskey, beer on tap and hot water with lemon. The food was amazing, fresh. My sweet heat sliders reminded me of a Bon mi, truffle fries were soo good. So much goodness in the Salmon and tenderloin sliders with caramelized onions! Everyone was so impressed by the excellent service with what I would say was a complicated table, the delicious food and drink! Thank RL for making our evening! read more
