On a whim I popped in for a grab-n-go breakfast biscuit. Immediately I was befuddled by the complete absence of a human to take my order. Since they are cashless, they feel they can be humanless. The order and paying processes were cumbersome. Oh ... and the food was just so-so. My hot honey butter chicken biscuit was tolerable and nothing more. Definitely not a do-over. read more

This was my first time at this location. I haven't been to a Rise in years. I walked in and placed an order at the one kiosk available (only option to place an order in store). They have screens to show which orders are being prepared and which orders are ready. After placing an order, we waited about four 25 minutes to find that their system had some type of glitch and then all of a sudden a bunch of online orders popped up above our order. Someone finally walked up to me and I asked about all the names that showed up and if online orders get priority over in store orders. I was told yes online orders her priority and we would get bumped down even after waiting so long. At that point, I asked for a refund. Very disappointed after waiting all that time that no one felt the need to explain what was going on to everyone waiting and no apology. IF you decide to eat here, order online! read more

When your order is ready they call your name or if you inputted your phone number you receive a text update. The biscuits are of course amazing. I usually opt for a chicken biscuit, breakfast biscuits, and/or donut. This visit I chose the guacamole smash. I ate it later that day so it was a little messy. Nonetheless, it was delicious, well balanced, and filling. They don't skimp on the guacamole! I had the Nashville Hot Chicken biscuit, the biscuit was nice and tender, as was the chicken. The Nashville hot sauce had a nice level of heat with a really good flavor. My first introduction to Nashville Hot chicken was at Hattie-B in Nashville and the Rise version is best I've had outside of Nashville. My wife had the Guacamole Smash and was thoroughly pleased as well. I was excited to try Rise for the first time this morning. The sausage egg and cheese biscuit was awesome. It was bigger than I expected, the biscuit wasn't dry and had a great flavor, and the scrambled egg was piled on high... literally falling out of the sandwich. The coffee was very good, though there weren't choices of roasts or anything like that. There was one type of hot coffee. The most surprising thing was that there is no indoor seating, just some tables set up in the sidewalk outside. The restaurant itself is very small and you have to order through the app or the kiosk... no people involved.
