One of the most unique things is their toasted bread. We all know when bread is toasted it has a roughness about it. Their's doesn't. It's smooth. I ordered 2 the chick meals and you pick from a scoop and a side or sandwich and side. I got the classic and Lauryn's lemon scoops and broccoli salad and chicken poblano soup. I like the Lauryn's lemon the best! The broccoli salad is also a great side. The staff was really friendly and fast. They have a health score of 100 too. The owner came to check on everyone throughout the entirety of our stay, he was so friendly and caring which was enough for us to come back. Everything was clean, including the bathroom, and while eating he offered us a sample of the broccoli salad which was absolutely incredible! Me and my boyfriend were genuinely shocked at how good some raw broccoli could be . The food itself was delicious and refreshing, I didn't have that drowsy feeling that I normally have after eating lots of food. I had such an amazing experience at Chicken Salad Chick today that I felt the need to share it. My daughter and I stopped in for lunch, and my daughter had previously worked there. The franchise manager immediately recognized her -- not only by face, but by name as well. He asked how she had been doing and was genuinely excited to see her. As a parent, that absolutely blew me away. This is someone who has worked with countless teenagers over the years and has likely experienced plenty of turnover, yet he still remembered my daughter personally. That kind of leadership and genuine care for employees is rare these days. The manager was just as incredible. A while back, my daughter needed to step away from work for personal reasons, and I encouraged her to have that conversation with him herself. One of the values I try to instill in my kids is taking ownership and learning how to communicate directly and responsibly. When she spoke with him, he was kind, welcoming, and willing to truly listen. He made her feel comfortable, reassured her, and simply told her that whenever she was ready to come back, she only needed to let him know. Then today, when we walked in, he greeted her with the same kindness and excitement. He called her by name, asked how she was doing, and even asked if she was ready to come back to work. I love me some chicken salad chick and really wish one would open in Durham! I stopped here bc I wanted a casual low key dinner while house sitting near by. I'm so glad it wasn't busy when I got there bc the young man at the register seemed to be having a tough time getting the order entered for the woman he was helping. It took a bit longer than I expected for them to bring out my food, although there were not many people physically there eating I did notice a few to go orders so they may have been slammed with those. I placed my order a meal; a Nancy on a croissant and a side of grape salad. The sandwhich was good, but it's a rare occasion for me to get chicken salad and I probably could have done without the carbs of the croissant and really focused more on the chicken salad. The grape salad is one of my favorites! I am all about the pickle, it's always the last thing I eat. Perfect, spreadable texture and delicious savory flavor. The lemon basil chicken salad was so refreshing, prefect for a summer day! Paired with the complimentary pickle spear, each bite was a burst of fresh flavor. My only complaint was that the croissant was a bit stale, and not particularly buttery. My friend enjoyed her salad and the egg salad was tasty as well. The cookie that comes with each meal is a pre-packaged sugar cookie. But not having a good experience with their breakfast, I knew Chicken Salad Chick where I had an Elite event in the past would be a good choice. This visit I went with the prepackaged area. I couldn't decide what flavor to get so went with two, the Cranberry Kelli and the Fruity Fran. I couldn't have gone wrong with any of the flavors. I also got a grape salad. Mac and cheese.... I was hoping for maybe a slight twist since the rest of the menu had so many options but if you're a fan of the no frills Mac and cheese, go for it! There was plenty of indoor and outdoor seating and the outdoor seating had umbrellas to shield you from the NC sun. Yelp totally gets me. I was so excited to have this as a Yelp Elite experience. I have been wanting to visit them since I heard their commercial. Thank you Yelp. I will definitely be back. The funny thing is what has me hooked is the Broccoli Salad. It was fresh. Usually restaurants let the ingredients sit until soggy and over saturated. The broccoli was crisp as the yummy bacon on top. The chicken salad was good and my sandwich was overstuffed just the way I like it with a pickle on the side. I attended the Grand Opening of Chicken Salad Chick in Cary. I was one of the first 100 (#21) who will receive a FREE Large Quick Chick (pound of chicken salad) every month for a year. I had seen some advertising on FB and wanted to check this place out. The Grand Opening was handled very well allowing people to line up outside and numbers were distributed at 7am. The staff was super friendly and handed out water to keep everyone hydrated. With our number, we were assigned a specific time to return to the restaurant to place our first order (avoiding huge lines and supporting social distancing). Upon return for my 10am "reservation", I was allowed to enter the restaurant; some employees were offering samples of Classic Carol and Sassy Scotty. I had been eyeing Sassy Scotty (blend of ranch, bacon and cheddar cheese) before arrival, but I actually preferred the Classic Carol (all white meat, celery, mayo and secret seasoning). When it was my turn (after getting suggestions from the staff), I sampled a few other options including Fancy Nancy (fuji apples, grapes and pecans), Barbie-Q (hickory smoked BBQ flavor) and Kickin' Kay Lynne (buffalo sauce, ranch, bacon, cheddar, jalapeños & Sriracha). To my surprise (despite not being a jalapeño fan), I LOVED Kickin' Kay Lynne. After sampling that, the others were too bland. It wasn't spicy for me, and it had great flavor. For my first visit, I got a croissant sandwich with Fancy Nancy and a side scoop of Kickin' Kay Lynne. They included a small cookie as a treat. My next trip, I picked up my Large Quick Chick of Kickin' Kay Lynne; I did sample Olivia's Old South, but it appears Kickin' Kay Lynne is my favorite. Neat concept and executed well in the decor. I had the buffalo flavored sandwich and my girlfriend had the fancy Nancy with egg salad. Probably an excellent one line to describe our experience "was good once I added salt" The food was bland - the buffalo didn't have a discernible buffalo chicken flavor. It has heat that snuck up on you but very bland. I had the loaded potato soup for a side and it was also bland. Understand neither of us add seasonings typically. We make an effort to try and capture the intention of the dish - I don't think that can be done by loading salt , pepper and other things. This is a chain and it's the only location I've been to so I can't tell you if this is this location or the chain's recipe's. My girlfriend has been to other locations and seems to this it's a chain thing. The prices are also expensive - we paid over twenty dollars for a sandwich and a scoop of salad for her.
