I placed an online order at 8:56am on a Saturday morning. I was attending a conference at the convention center up the street. I placed it while on my way so it could be ready when I got there. I ordered blueberry beignets, righteous chicken on blueberry biscuit, and a sweet tea. The total was $13.50, which was reasonable. Per email confirmation, it was to be ready by 9:11am. I received a text at 9:01am that my order was ready, which was super quick. I didn't arrive until 9:10qm. Once there, I noticed a kiosk for placing order. What was really cool is that online and pick up orders are stored in a lockbox style container. You type your name on the machine and the door with your order is highlighted. I liked that! It prevents someone from taking the wrong order and frees up staff from having to stop and pass out orders. One staff member saw me taking pictures and stopped to pose. I loved that! I did have to ask for a cup to get my own beverage. Unfortunately, when I got to my conference, they had breakfast but it wasn't stated. Guess what?I had two breakfasts haha. The sandwich was SOOO DELICIOUS! Omg. I highly recommend!! The beignets were tasty as well but I didn't get to taste them while they were fresh because I got full from the double breakfast lol. If you're reading this, give them a try! You won't be disappointed!

A quick stop in on the way out of town had my tastebuds SINGING!!! I picked the guacamole smash.. HOLY CRAP IT WAS GREAT. The biscuit was perfect, great guacamole and a big slice of tomato. I wish I had a location closer to where I live. We ordered through the app and picked food up on the way out of town.

I want to give a huge shoutout to the incredible team at Rise who helped me pull off a large breakfast order in record time! I came in around 9:30am needing 20+ bacon, egg, and cheese biscuits to thank the amazing nursing staff at Duke University Hospital who have been caring for my son. The lovely woman at the counter (whose name I unfortunately didn't catch!) jumped into action without hesitation. She immediately rallied her kitchen crew, announcing the big order, and within 15 minutes had everything boxed, labeled, and ready to go. It was seamless, efficient, and done with such kindness and professionalism. I'm beyond grateful--not only for how fast and smoothly it all went, but for the spirit of teamwork and care they showed. Thank you, Rise, for making a moment of gratitude possible during a very meaningful time for our family. Highly recommend this location and their phenomenal staff!

Best quick breakfast until 2pm in downtown Durham. It's on the corner so don't roll by to fast are you will miss it and trust you me - you will be made at yourself

I got the hot honey chicken sandwich and a side of tater tot's. Sandwich was okay but tater tots were fantastic and honestly the only thing that kept me from giving 3 stars. It is grab and go which I did not know before (my fault) so I ordered on my phone and then walked around the area a bit but the food was ready fast. Easy pick up instructions. Hard to judge service as you don't speak to anyone when picking up or ordering your food but they are fast so that's a plus. I do wish there were some small tables inside. I walked back to my Airbnb and my food had definitely gotten less fresh as it was below freezing outside (again this is more my fault for not realizing it is grab and go).

This is a must try place! I can't speak on other locations, but the Rise in downtown Durham is to-go orders only. You can place an order online or at the self serve kiosk in the store. If you place an order online, you can pick up your order in the lockers. My husband and I ordered through the self serve kiosk at the store and it took about 6ish minutes for our two meals to be ready. I got the Glazed Strawberry Biscuit and it was absolutely perfect. There were strawberries mixed into the dough with a glaze on top. It tasted like the best of both worlds - a glazed donut and fluffy biscuit. You can keep track of where the employees are with your order on the screen in the corner. Everything was super modern and clean. There are no tables inside, but there are a few benches located outside nearby. I'd go here again and again!

Was in town visiting and needed breakfast and this hit the spot! The one downtown is not an eat-in place just an FYI. We ordered the following and it was ready in just about 10 minutes! Food: Plain chicken biscuit-very yummy! Loved their biscuit! Sausage egg cheese biscuit with boom boom sauce-husband loved it. Cheerwine donut-good Blueberry biscuit-so good Cinnamon roll biscuit-also very good Tater tots-yummy they are the large ones Gravy-I wasn't impressed but the hubs liked dipping his tots in it. Overall a great breakfast place!

Came here for a biscuit on a Sunday morning! We were able to find free street parking down the road because it was a weekend. The inside is small with no seating but it was very easy to order. There was a kiosk inside where you could customize sandwiches. I ordered a custom biscuit and really enjoyed it. The sauces were really good and I got some pimento cheese on a cheese biscuit. The biscuit was warm and really good. The prices were okay but I was pretty full afterwards. I'm glad I tried these biscuits!

Was in town for an event and wanted to try something different. Ordered online and arrived to see a uniformed officer watching as patrons were getting their meals from the automated machine. This was pretty strange in my opinion and unsure of the reasoning behind it. Food was ready as scheduled, the ordering and pickup process was easy along with finding a street parking spot. Food was hot and delicious, biscuit was fluffy and moist, i hate a dry biscuit and the accompaniments were all hot and cheese melted. Definitely recommend trying this when in the area.

    Nashville Hot Chicken

Rise is a grab-and-go-style biscuit shop. We made a mobile order that was ready in around 10 minutes. We ordered the Nashville Hot Chicken Biscuit. The chicken was crispy and saucy, though we were hoping for some more spice. The biscuit itself was perfectly soft. Overall, Rise is a solid spot for a quick meal. We're looking forward to trying some of their other menu options!

There is plenty of parking on the backside of the building, paid parking out front, and be careful not to park in the apartment spaces on the side...they sounded pretty serious about towing. I had made a reservation but it was probably unnecessary as it was pretty empty when we arrived (it was about 5pm on a Saturday.) The waitress brought a bottle of water to the table and took our drink order. And I know that this place is literally call it's a Southern thing but can I mention how much I dislike drinking out of mason jars? I ordered the chicken n biscuits, my husband got the country hamburger steak plate, my BiL got wings, and my SiL got the crabcakes. We also orders charred jalapeno & sweet corn hushpuppies and frickles as an appetizer. I was VERY excited about my food. Y'all...the only thing that impressed me were the Frickles. Everything else was distinctly underwhelming. I also ordered Blackberry Betta Have My Money which was not that great. My SiL ordered a espresso martini that they said didn't come from a mix but she said it tasted like it was. The bathrooms were very clean. The decor and the vibe were great. Cute even. I really enjoyed that part of it. After dropping off our food, we never saw our waitress again unless we flagged her down for drink refills. It was especially frustrating since there was automatic gratuity added. And since the place wasn't that busy, it felt like she didn't feel the need to earn her automatic tip. Overall I was disappointed in my birthday dinner. I won't be coming back here.

We made a reservation and were seated upon arrival. Our host was Anthony, I think his name was, with a keen interest for ginkgo trees. He was very attentive, friendly and extremely helpful. He took her order and had some good suggestions. I was craving shrimp and grits which was probably the most unique shrimp and grits. I've had ever. Very distinct flavor and still very rich and familiar. The shrimp were large and juicy as well as remained crunchy overall cooked very well. We also had the summer tomato and burata salad which was really refreshing and delicious. My friend ordered the mac and cheese which is a hefty serving size. Definitely a shareable side or a main for one person. Our host came to check on us frequently, our Waters never went empty. Other hosts were also helping check in on us which was nice. The restaurant itself is large. Booth tables available, which made for a cozy environment. We ended the night with some brownie a la mode, which was the perfect dessert to have on a hot summer day. The menu had recently changed so we got to try quite a few new items. We tried the panzanella- sweet corn, red beans, heirloom tomato, patty pan squash, pea tendrills, and a roasted red pepper vinaigrette. This dish was my favorite of the night- small but shareable, entire dish was refreshing and all the flavors and textures went together so well. For dinner I ordered the roasted chicken and the baked mac and cheese with bacon. The roasted chicken was juicy and tasty, and a bit sweet with the bourbon ginger and plum reduction, but the mac and cheese seemed dry and overcooked. We also ordered the buttermilk cheddar biscuits- that taste slightly undercooked (in a good way), so the texture was soft and chewy (and amazing). The honey butter and large maldon salt granules made the biscuits perfect. They were so good we ordered a second order!! I would definitely return to Plum, for both the food and hospitality.

Also, had to ask for the canned beer she forgot. The food is always good here but the cleanliness and service is hurting this establishment. Having been huge fans of North Carolina style BBQ, we were not disappointed. My wife and daughter enjoyed the Pork Plate. By for me, I went with the two meat combo with Pulled pork and brisket. The brisket might have been some of the best I've ever had. It had a nice fat layer and was also "melt in your mouth" and juicy. The brisket didn't need any sauce at all. It was that good.
