I am a regular Rise patron and rewards member for several years. I love their selection of breakfast and brunch options. I usually order a biscuit and save half for a second meal. When I order a box, I order it plain and then add my own fixings at home. My box creations can make up to three meals. I've begun adding my own fixings to their biscuits too. I'm pleased with Rise's pricing, regular coupon offers for loyalty members, and a reward point system that's easy to track. They've recently sent out coupons in those coupon clipper mailers and I found they carry great value. This Rise location (like their location in Chapel Hill) caters primarily to takeout clients. There are some bar tables and outdoor patio seats if you want to eat on site. I'm a takeout client myself (as I hinted above) and prefer building on top of what I order. Rise's biscuits can't be beat. They are flaky, fluffy, and reheat well. My tips for reheating: - Microwave: Lightly sprinkle water on the open faces of your biscuit (not the hard crust) and cover before microwaving. - Air fryer: Use the "Reheat" setting and reheat your biscuit at 325º for 4-5 minutes. read more

First impressions: it's a small space with only a few counter seats inside (no tables) but a few tables outside (west coaster couldn't handle the heat). There's only one kiosk to order from as they want you to order ahead on the app and use their secure pickup bins. The person in front of me was struggling to use the kiosk but the staff were very helpful. This is a recurring theme -- everyone seems very helpful. On to the food... Biscuit with fried egg and American cheese: biscuit was light and flaky, good taste and texture. Would have been better if we could have washed it in some butter. Fried egg and cheese is a good standard choice. Basic. Bacon, egg, and cheddar: cheddar gave it a slightly more flavorful taste. This biscuit had a tiny piece of eggshell in it. Off putting but at least you know everything is freshly made. If I have a small complaint, it's the counter and surrounding areas seem slightly dirty. Upon walking in I was a bit overwhelmed because you have to self order. I've never been here before so I am not familiar with the offerings. I got grits a biscuit and milk gravy. Everything was super tasty I wish you could just order with a person. read more

I've tried to give this place a couple of chances, but really the service is slow and the food is mediocre usually but I guess that is taste dependent. Be aware that if you order the beignets it can take a while since they apparently have to make the dough fresh! I suppose the people there are friendly, which is their redeeming quality. We hadn't been here in a long time but I got some coupons in the mail and I stopped by on a Monday I had off. I ordered a chicken biscuit and a maple bacon donut. I didn't see the maple bacon bars that we've enjoyed in the past. While the food was good, the ordering process is needlessly complicated. Ordering is done at a kiosk with lots of prompts (no human counter staff when I was there). People ahead of me took a long time to order and when it came my turn, it took me a long time to order and enter my coupon code. There is no seating to everything is to go, which I did and enjoyed at home. I wish the ordering system was faster, though. read more

Rise used to be a beacon of creativity and quality food. Has declined so much since its inception. Feel like the decline started after they stopped with their fun donuts and rotating biscuits. Now they don't even offer the veggie chicken anymore. Sad to see. Won't be back. read more

We had Rise delivered as our last meal in the area/breakfast before we hit the road heading home. I ended up with a plain biscuit because I didn't realize there was an egg white option and chicken in the morning just isn't my thing. We wanted a quick breakfast and we're not disappointed with Rise. Parking was easy, the restaurant was clean, and they had good music. All of the workers were busy so there was not much customer interaction since we ordered from an iPad, but I was very pleased with my experience. This place was good. The ordering system is very COVID-safe, although more impersonal than I'd like. I had the chicken biscuit and a coffee. The coffee was really good. The sandwich was good too. I would have preferred if it had something extra on it, but it was still ok. The chicken kind of reminded me of chick-fil-a. Next time I visit I'll try something different, probably an egg sandwich. (Disclaimer, I live in a city with a notable chicken and biscuit place, where they have a house-made sauce on their chicken biscuits, so that's what I'm accustomed to.) read more

These biscuits are legit. Not only can you get great sandwiches, the sweet biscuits like the cinnamons roll and blueberry were actually the stars for me. As an out of state visitor, I was on a quest for some home style cooking on the go. Rise is a quick service restaurant with a full menu of home style cooking and baked goods! Usually go to the Rise on Foster but today had the pleasure of going to the Rise near Southpoint. The donuts were fantastic as usual! Also noteworthy was the young man who seemed to be in charge. There were a couple of problems with orders that he handled efficiently and with customer satisfaction in mind, all while keeping the staff humming along. Well done Rise! read more

I've got to update my review. This spot USED to be a 5 star experience but mannnn oh man. Not anymore. They have recently made some changes that might not of been the best ones in my opinion . Let's start with the menu. They have officially removed all of the donuts and now all they sell is sweet biscuits like a strawberry shortcake biscuit and a peach biscuit. They even have a cinnamon roll biscuit. Those sweet biscuits aren't that bad but clearly they are not the best. Often times when you go now it takes them forever to complete your order. They used to have you in and out within five minutes now on the average weight is going to be at least 10 minutes. I don't know if it's because they've cut back on employees or what! Sure it's a bit pricey, and the "no human contact" doesn't seem super efficient (only one kiosk... and two biscuits shouldn't take half an hour) but both the country ham and egg and fried green tomatoes with pimento cheese were delish! If you're searching for a hearty breakfast, look no further. The biscuit sandwiches may look small but they are mighty. I ordered the jalapeño chicken sandwich which was pretty decent. Everything inside was cooked well, but there was definitely something missing to bring it all together. I felt it to be super dry (I know, they're biscuits), but for a sandwich I think it needed a sauce or vegetable? Idk just something. Not suitable to eat while driving either unless you want crummies everywhere. We also ordered a dozen specialty donuts. I tried the creme brûlée, while it looks like one with the hard sugar top, the flavor of creme brûlée is super faint and there's not enough filling. It ended being a miss for me. Food is good enough... it's essentially a nicer Chick-fil-A.. Their whole system is set up for take out so I would not recommend eating in. Nobody takes your order. They make you order your own food at a computer and don't supply any hand sanitizer which I found to be disgusting considering the hundreds of people that have touched the screen on a daily basis. It's usually packed at this location, but you can order online and they will do curbside service. Now let's get to the best part, Z the FOOD!!! I'm addicted to the Southern Biscuit!!!! Best buscuit ever!! I always get mine on the Cheddar Biscuit. The chicken is big and juicy, not Bojangles baby chicken. The palmetto cheese is rich and it HAS BACON!!!! Parking is never an issue because of its location by the mall. Swinging by right before they closed at 2pm, I ordered through their tablet station. I got the southern deluxe with the sweet potato biscuit and a frenetic brûlée donut. It was neat getting to customize my order through the tablet. Overall, the creme brûlée donut was ok- it wasn't fresh given that it was near the end of their "day". The southern deluxe biscuit itself was delicious, I added honey, grape jelly and tomato in it which perfectly complemented the fried chicken. It's pretty hard to top Rise. read more

Miss this place! We're from Dallas and there used to be one near our home. We were so sad that this place closed near us. We love the breakfast sandwiches and donuts. We stopped here on the way to Richmond. I highly recommend. One thing to note was that I was impressed by the pickup system here. They had lockers and allowed me to pick my food up by selecting my name. The donuts here are tasty too. We had a maple glazed with bacon. The bacon is a bit of a chew but is delicious with the maple glaze. As for seating this location has great outdoor seating. It's not shaded but it was cloudy this morning.
