This place used to be great but the owners have turned the business into a joke. Currently, dining establishments are allowed 75% occupancy in Maryland, yet, despite Rise Up having a large cafe with plenty of seating, they still refuse to let anyone inside the building. You aren't even allowed inside to give your order. You do it while standing in the front door way. When your order is ready, it's placed outside on a random table for you to come get. How does is this sanitary or sensible when they have plenty of seating and space inside? read more

Great coffee! Hands down better than Starbucks! The location in Salisbury also has a food menu that has grown over the years. I have eaten several of the burritos and pastries. The green sauce that comes with the burrito is really good. The location on college avenue is almost always busy and depending on when you visit, you may have to wait for someone to leave in order to dine in. read more

Pretty darn good, hip coffee shop. crowded @ 930 on Sunday/fathers day. Fresh eggs and a small selection of breakfast foods. Coffee is fresh. Serves its purpose well and doesn't try to over reach into a full blown 'restaurant'. Outdoor seating is available although the view isn't great... A few potted trees to define the patio would help. Attention to details make this place cute. Penny tiled (clean) bathroom floors, small decor touches. Stickers in boxes to help ID what's inside later. Lots of parking. I got a scrapple breakfast sandwich. It was really good - 2 patties of whatever-the-meat-is on a fresh biscuit. And a pineapple smoothie - it was heavy on coconut flavor. Coffee was pretty good, "very mild and light". Still, better than any coffee you'd get at hipsterbucks. read more

Horrible. I went here for the first time was not given any direction for example what I expected was "welcome to rise up place your order here, then proceed to the left side of the building to pick your order up" there were signs so small I didn't even bother to read them I'm sure these signs were instructions. Lastly once our food was ready it was left on a table outside near their bushes. COVERED IN FLIES you guys need to take a VERY HARD LOOK who ever thought this was customer friendly and SANITARY did not even try at all. Please re-evaluate the way you greet guest and serve food. read more

Great coffee and breakfast sandwiches! Besides being a cool place to hang out, they actually have really good food.

I usually get dragged here by my coffee obsessed partner. While I'm sure it has amazing coffee, it doesn't have much else that interests me. Limited seating, only like 4 options for breakfast. I try to oblige my partner's enthusiasm for wanting to stop by whenever we're in town, but I really wish they would have more options for those of us just along for the ride. On the flip side, I love the decor! The tables are interesting and I love seeing rainforest certified/non-gmo logos. Keep it up! read more

Rise up was awesome! First time in Salisbury and this is a go to, if you're in the area. So much better than wasting money at Starbucks, support local business! I had a pumpkin latte with oat milk served warm and perfectly sweet, the iced version was a bit sweeter. We had the smoked salmon bagel, the bacon egg and cheese biscuit and split the acai bowl. All were wonderful- the SS bagel was Alaskan, chunked, room temperature smoked salmon not the classic patrasmi style but had two types of cheese! The biscuit was homemade and wonderfully dense and delicious, recommend this! The acai bowl was good, very classic acai bowl but the granola was AMAZING! When I'm back, I'll be back to Rise Up! read more

By far my new favorite coffee shop. Great coffee, fresh food, and friendly people. I wish we had one in Raleigh.

I love the coffee smoothies. I got the BLT sliders and they where pretty good, I felt it was a little pricey for the small portion of bacon and half a tomato on each slider. Over all the food is decent and the coffee is great, and the service is friendly. I was very DISAPPOINTED with the lack of high chairs and changing table in the bathroom. You take the time to make custom bathroom signs and glue pennies to the floor but you can't invest in a few high chairs and a changing table? I wouldn't just refer to Salisbury as a college town, there are lots of families. And I feel like Rise Up is alienating families by not accommodating to us. I'm also taking away another star because they ran out of 2 food items while I was there. Avocado and tomato. Luckily I got my tomatoes but they ran out soon after me. And it was annoying to hear the customers complaining about the lack of ingredients. read more

Honestly, I love the coffee here and will always be a customer, even if it means making it at home. But depending on who is the cashier, it's either a really awesome experience coming here, or a really abrasive and rude one. It's been an issue at both locations in Salisbury honestly. I'm unsure if some people are families of the owners or what. The last one was today (November 10 around 1PM.) Like I said, I'll always come here, but at least feign pleasantries if you're in a service business. The cashier was being so dismissive and rude that the rest of the staff, in an obvious attempt to save face, went out of their way to be kind and accomodating. Great coffee, and if someone is having a bad day (we all do) than maybe rotate them from the cashiers role to a runner. This shouldn't be an ongoing problem. read more

the coffee is really good here and the breakfast burritos are good but it needs a new online ordering system because when i order ahead the baristas won't start making my coffee until like 10 minutes after my pickup time, its not very convenient for when i'm in a hurry. read more

I've been to this place a couple of times and food has been great until today. I went to get a sausage biscuit and the home fry potatoes. Biscuit was dry, sausage wasn't cooked through all the way and the potatoes were so burnt, it left the worst taste in my mouth. So disappointed read more

Better than convenient store coffee but nothing special. All the hot coffee is drip/batch brew no options there. Cold brew is made weekly and is pretty good. Full bodied and not bitter. Specialty drinks such as lattes are made to order with fresh ground beans but I didn't have one. This is a take away or drive thru joint only. No where to sit and drink your joe. Only 2 parking spots in the front, maybe some additional parking in the grass lot on the side. They did have some fresh baked goods and do have breakfast sandwiches to go. Cool place! Cool staff! Delicious food. I got the chicken burrito and it was tasty. The size looks small but it was stuffed and fully hunger eliminating. My partner got a waffle served with whip cream and fresh fruit. That was tasty too, I was told. Drinks were okay...Jamaican tea and cappuccino. J. Tea is a mix of tea and orange juice. They didn't have any plain juice(s) so I opted for this drink. One thing I appreciated here was NO MISOGYNY! Finally a place where people spoke to me, a woman, and made eye contact with me and not the man standing beside me. It's amazing how, in this day and age, staff at many other places ignores me and talks to the guy even when I am the one asking a question and/or paying the bill. Not here. Literally my favorite coffee place everrrrr, I go there 3-4 times a week. I decided to try their avocado toast and I was addicted. I told everyone, took pics, posted on social media how obsessed with this goodness I was and then the bad experience hit. I went from 4 perfect slices of avocado toast to two, to four, and then this last time, one. In the menu it's described to have a homemade pico de gao on top and man is it good with a nut mix, but here is what I got the other day, one slice with tomatoes on top for $7. I was so disappointed and so mad that this is what they decided to serve a loyal customer. Ugh, you let me down rise up. read more

Stop in every so often with my 11 year old. Always has nice and friendly service. The food is not too bad but a bit pricey.

Coffee was OK, nothing spectacular. Food (via MadEggs) was good: biscuits from scratch, organic eggs, scratch sausage gravy. Food was slow to come out, though...not a quick stop. Pastries looked good. Music was way too loud. Hard to have a conversation across the table. Service: indifferent. Unfortunately this place becomes a teen hangout for high schoolers either with a free period or ditching class from across the street. read more
