I had a reservation and our table was setup with a view when we arrived. The hostess greeted us…read morevery pleasantly. We had a great start! We ordered two cups of soup, pretzel, Beef on Weck and a steak dish. The kitchen was backed up so we waited a little for our food. The wait wasn't that bad since we were snacking on the pretzel . I don't usually give reviews under 4 stars. What happens next warrants the 3 stars. We ordered the steak rare or medium rare, depending on how rare they could make it. The steak came out with no pink at all. It was tough to cut. It took me awhile to flag someone down. When our server came, I mentioned that we requested the steak rare but it looks more well done. Her answer surprised me that I didn't know how to respond. I can give you A1 sauce, she said. I don't expect the steak to be a 5-star rating steak. However, when the steak wasn't cooked as requested and we were offered A1 sauce to make it more tolerable. That just doesn't seem right. She said she will check with the Kitchen to see what they could do. 2 minutes laters, she stopped by and said: I am just gonna make sure that I didn't make the mistake before I go to the kitchen. Hmmm, ok. She came back with two choices, 10% off or they will cook another steak for us. We don't want to chance it especially, when they kept on apologizing to the customers saying their kitchen is backed up. Besides, we had already lost our appetite because my father-in-law's beef on weck sandwich is also dry(see pictures). We didn't eat lunch so we arrived hungry but he could only manage to eat half of his sandwich, thanks to the Scotch Ale. I then asked to speak with the manager. I was told the manager is in the kitchen that probably won't come out. This was the first time that a manager wouldn't come out. Side note: I often asked to speak with the manager when the server did a great job and so want to recognize the server. I don't usually ask the manager for complaints. I told her 10% for this magnitude of error was nothing. She said she would check with manager. The manager still didn't come out. The kitchen must be really short staffed because now the manager offered to comp everything. We told the server that we are not trying not to pay the bill but want solutions for the two dry, overcooked meals. Especially, we had two glasses of beer, two soft drinks, two cups of soup and a pub pretzel. We countered that they waived the two overcooked dishes( not much was eaten). The server went back to check with the manager. She came back and said the manager accepted the offer and she would bring the bill right out. Twenty minutes later, we had to flag her down for our bill. My oh my, I felt so bad for my father-in-law because his Father's Day meal wasn't that great. He picked the restaurant because he was looking forward to the sandwich. I hope this is just a one off situation. Long review because I'm shocked with my encounter especially the A1 sauce solution offered for an overcooked steak. Still shocked!

Unfortunately the waitress belonged in a diner, she was not very attentive, ordered the special and was served with one plate perfectly displayed and the other sloppy. At $60 a plate it should have been fixed prior to arriving to our table. Wait staff traffic was very distracting going from one room to another, I think their up to catering 3 rooms (too much) and loosing sight of the fine dining experience that we so loved when we found this place. We will definitely take a break from making a future reservation with hopes management really takes a look at the less than positive reviews of this establishment before it really goes down hill.

Ever since Bent's Opera House opened, I've been curious and wanted a reason to try Harvest for…read moredinner. The opportunity finally presented itself and, overall, it was a really nice experience! Three of us had made reservations for 6pm on a Thursday and when we arrived, there were zero issues. Parking for Harvest is primarily street parking but there are smaller parking lots nearby. The interior comes across fancy, modern, with nice views of Main St. and as you walk in to the dining room, the open-kitchen to our left and a warmly lit, nicely stocked bar to our right. We were seated at a table towards the middle of the dining room. At 6pm, most tables were empty but when we were leaving there were a good amount of people at both the bar and seated in the dining room, so it seems like people tend to come for a later meal. Our waitress came over and poured us waters and provided drink and food menus. This was a first for me - the menus lit up! Our waitress though was incredibly courteous and personable, she did a fantastic job checking on us. To kick the evening off, I ordered their Honey Hibiscus cocktail, which is mezcal, Grand Marnier, hibiscus, ginger, honey, cinnamon, lime, and fee foam. This was a nicely balanced cocktail with a more floral, fruity flavor. With the open kitchen concept, it was neat to see the chef and cooks working on our meals as we relaxed, talked, and munched on some warmed focaccia-like bread with a freshly made balsamic, olive oil, herb dip. The bread was so soft with the perfect amount of chew on the crust/exterior, and served warm. For dinner, I ordered Pappardelle Mornay and added (perfectly grilled) chicken breast for a few more dollars, which is simply pappardelle pasta in a creamy cheese mornay. Our waitress crushed some black pepper atop my dish before I started in. This was excellent - The pasta itself tasted so fresh, the cheese mornay was indeed very creamy, and the grilled chicken breast was cooked, seasoned, cut, and portioned perfectly. I am really glad I added the chicken breast to this dish as I'm not sure the pasta itself would've filled me up. I'd definitely order this again! To wrap up our meal, since it was Thursday, there's a "1/2 off Nightcaps" special, so each of us enjoyed a cold foam espresso martini afterward, which is coffee-infused vodka, Nue vodka, FAIR Café liqueur, dark crème de cacao, Steamworks espresso, chocolate bitters, vanilla syrup, and topped with an infused cold foam, which we went with the Frangelico Hazelnut cold foam, and a few espresso beans. This was ridiculously rich and delish! Harvest is an intimate, elevated dining experience, designed to have you stay a while, relax, and enjoy a more personal meal. All of us really enjoyed our evening here and have nothing but high praise for the staff and quality food. This isn't a fast, casual, cheap sit-down meal, but it's an experience worth the higher price. I look forward to coming back!

It's located on 1st floor of an upscale boutique hotel in what used to be an old bank (they still display the vault). My parents have gone numerous times, but this was my first visit. The interior decor is beautiful & upscale, including comfy chairs, and tables are not packed together. The live piano music was a nice touch, though we all agreed a tad loud to support dinner conversation. From start to finish, everything was pleasing, beginning with cocktails, the Bison ribs app, root salad, & entrees. We didn't order dessert, but I saw some others getting delivered, and they looked delicious. Service was excellent. We'll be back!

Oh how the mighty have fallen! I remember when this restaurant was opened by "Alex" and it was…read morefantastic. I knew Alex by mutual acquaintance and growing up in the same small town. He was a professional restaurateur who was paid to sit with celebrities at the posh places he worked in South Florida in the 70s. Whatever else is said, the man had high standards in food and dining experience. When he opened, and for years after the place was always packed and very popular. The food was high quality and your meal came with 2 sides, salad, hot bread and nice presentation at a reasonable price. Alex left the business several years ago and the current owner has run it for some time. Today was my first time back in several years. The outside looks dated and needs a refresh. I almost thought it was closed. It was 2:30pm on Saturday before Mother's Day and almost empty. I don't recall it ever not being full of people waiting at the bar for a table. Until today. The decor is ok although I don't care for the fringe lamps directly over your head. I was going to get ribs but decided on 10 oz prime rib ($32.00) comes with 1 side (I chose baked potato - only sour cream and butter is offered). No salad unless you pay extra! The warm bread was fine with two kinds of butter. My companion had the Kids spaghetti $(8.99). My prime rib came out and it looked about half the normal thickness it should be and in a puddle of juice. Even the server commented about why the kitchen did that. And it was warm, at best. No horseradish or other condiments were offered. No garnish on the plate. Just a thin slab of meat. The juice should have been in a separate cup. But the small baked potato was steaming hot! My companion had a giant pile of spaghetti with about a 1/4 cup of sauce on top! Too little for the mound of spaghetti. And it looked like cheap jar sauce and no meatballs. She didn't mind but I wasn't thrilled. And her fountain drink did not come with the meal ($3.99)! I had a lavender lemon drop martini that was ok. ($10). Ultimately the food is mediocre and it feels like they are cutting corners to keep prices down. But that means it's no longer the special place it used to be. Sad.

When we walked in, another customer was raving about the food and telling us how much we'd enjoy it, which honestly made me feel a lot better about trying somewhere new in an unfamiliar area. The vibe is like a bar turned restaurant, dark and a little moody but not off-putting. My mom even got a cutesy leprechaun margarita, which made her smile. We started with 10 mild wings for the table, my sister got a Caesar salad and said the dressing tasted homemade, and this is where I tried French onion soup for the first time. It was okay, just really salty. My mom ended up finishing it, but I did like that the cheese layer wasn't too heavy. I'm still on the hunt for a French onion that really does it for me. I didn't get pictures of the mains, but my mom and I both got steak, I had mashed potatoes and she got a baked potato. My sister got the fettuccine alfredo and marveled at the flavor. She kept saying you can tell it's a local spot and not a chain just by the care put into it. My steak was good, nothing crazy but you really can't go wrong. The mashed potatoes were a little bland but still edible. My mom loved her meal and finished everything, while my sister and I both had leftovers. The only downside was the service. Our waitress wasn't very friendly, kind of impatient and a little passive aggressive, like we were bothering her just by being there. Given the lack of diversity in the area, it didn't completely surprise me, but it was still noticeable. We didn't let it ruin the night though. Overall we still enjoyed it and I'd go back if I'm ever in Batavia again. Reasonable prices, solid food. Taking everything into account, I'd give it a 6.9/10.

But there is surely something that will satisfy your sweet tooth if you don't have too restricted of a diet. They serve all hard-scoop Hershey's ice cream. My hubbs and son were pleased with their choices (Camo-Cream and Cookie Dough), and my small peanut butter sundae was sized just right for a reasonable treat. Prices were pretty fair; for the three of us, we paid just over $11. They do offer some specialty milkshakes that looked interesting, which comes with a glass mug you keep. We will work our way to trying one of those sometime. We did not eat any of the diner food this time, but there were a couple of patrons at the picnic tables with takeout boxes. The food looked good, like fried and grill food you'd expect from a diner. Currently, during pandemic times, they were only serving takeout only, no indoor seating yet. If you're visiting the Point Breeze area and want an ice cream treat and/or a diner meal, give Hayden's a try.
