Have a 2007 ford focus - rising sun takes care of my vehicle using oem parts - labor is fair priced - even thou I have a ford and they specialize in other brands of vehicles they do a great job - very knowledgeable on any vehicle in the shop - the owner allen is a master of mechanics and his wife takes care of ordering parts and paperwork they are a great team be sure your vehicle is taken care and done right - call them for an appt and getting a very fair price and fast turnaround on your vehicle - i trust them completely read more

They tell you a day and time to drop off your car and when you arrive, they tell you they might not be able to get to it that day. Also, even though there's a couch and a chair, they don't allow you to wait for them to fix or not fix your car. With that in mind, in attempting to get an Uber driver my only debit card was defrauded and I haven't been able to buy anything for three weeks. Even though they heard that I had been defrauded, they didn't apologize when they returned my keys so I could limp my car home. Thanks for the stellar customer service Rising Sun. I have taken my car 3 times snd they opened 30 minutes late. The owner, Allan quoted me a price if $195 to change valve cover gasket. When I went to get my after the repair he said $585. I called my usual mechanic snd he said the price s/b around $367. I told the owner and he said he would match that price. Taking advantage of a woman, $460 for labor. Don't go here. They are not reliable anymore...greed. read more

Excellent experience. My air conditioning had went out in my Camry. I brought it in on a Saturday. They got it working again and had me to bring it back, the next week to find the problem. After checking again they found no problem and did not charge me anything. I was impressed with their caring attitude and will use in the future. read more

I have been bringing my cars here for over 17 years. They won my business because they are honest with their customers even when the prognosis is not good. In that time, I have gone through three cars (all with over 200,000 miles on them). In the 17 years I have been going here, here are some of my experiences. 1) They told me flat out that one of my cars was not worth paying to fix. It was at the end of its life (I drive them to death) and they could have had me for an engine replacement... but they told me finding a used car would be a better use of my money. That is honesty that cost them that job... but gained them a lifetime customer. 2) I brought my car 4 years ago in because the MGP dropped quickly, it seemed to be speeding up slower and it was starting to make some light noises. I dropped it off. They took a look at it and told me that nothing was wrong. I am still driving that car and nothing came of this... they were right. 3) Just this year, my car started misfiring. I dropped it off. They said it would be an engine job and (once again) the car may not be worth fixing; drive it till it dies. They then said that they do have a product that would mix with the oil and possibly loosen things up and give the car some extended life. We did it, and the car stopped misfiring enough to get the check engine light to go off and I just passed inspection. It is not fixed, but it didn't cost me an engine job. I am going to drive this thing till the state tells me I can't (or it dies)... almost 300,000 miles now. Since starting to come here, I have recommended this place to friends and family. My father and my mother now bring their cars here... I would not recommend to them, unless this place was the real deal. I have many more experiences, but this is long enough already. Jumping from dishonest mechanic to dishonest mechanic trying to pinch pennies will cost you way more that just paying an reasonably priced honest mechanic. One that will be honest about good news and bad. These people are honest and they will be my mechanic till they decide to retire (or they tell me that they won't work on my solar powered hovercraft). read more

Used service 2 more times since last entry. On 9-18-2015 left car because battery light was on turned out to be the alternator which was replaced in Dec 2013 and it shorted out was replaced at no charge. read more

I have used this business for the past two years and find their prices to be reasonable. I referred my mother to them because she had been given a quote of $800 from the Toyota dealership. She took it to Rising Sun and they repaired her window for approximately $250. I think the dealership was going to replace the entire window motor instead of just the part that needed repair. read more

THEY ARE TOTAL CROOKS DONT GO THERE! They told me I needed an alternator & the total I would pay was $390 for everything tax included, I told the clerk on the phone I would call back because I had a mechanic who gets me parts for cheaper. She basically told me that wasn't allowed & that I had to use their part, that was the 1st red flag. She also told me very rudely "we have to make a living too" when I said I could get my own part, second red flag. I checked auto zone & they had my part for $135 with 1 yr warranty. I called the shop back & asked how much was the labor & how much was the part separately? The guy basically gave me a hard time & then had the nerve to ask me "why are you asking?" He eventually told me the part was $260 & the rest was labor. Are you kidding me? Because I am a female I believe they tried to get over on me. I have an older car there's no way I'm handing over $400 for a job as easy as it was. They were extremely unprofessional & seemed like scheme artist. DONT GO THERE! read more

My husband and I dropped my car off right when they opened ( 8am) so that we could be the first one in. The wife who is also the co-owner was nice enough although when my husband began to tell her what we needed she said "who's car is it" and looked at me. I said I drive it. At that point she told my husband that she would rather talk to me since I would know more about how it has been driving. My husband did not saying anything but I knew that it bothered him that she cut him off. Anyway, they did not want to commit to a time for when they would know what was wrong but she guessed about a few hours. Anyway, I said ok and we left. Later that day around 1-1:30pm. I thought I would check to see if they had a diagnosis of what was wrong. I conferenced my husband in and they told us they needed to order a part and would not have the car ready until the next day. They said they would start working on it in the morning. So the NEXT day, I called about 12:15pm and the other owner (the Husband -Allen) answered and I said "Hi happy Friday! I was calling to see if you have an update or status on my car"...He put me on hold and then came back and said: "That one will be ready at the "end of the day". ..He did not say what that meant so I asked "why". He then said rudely "You seemed to be concerned about time. You keep calling and complaining. I said "Sir I am not sure I like how you are talking to me." He then said "I do not have time for this." "You can come get your car." and then he HUNG UP! I was completely shocked! I called back in tears and said I was not rude and complaining and that I was inquiring because they have had the car since yesterday. I said I have an elderly Mom who I help so I had some things I was trying to get done. I said I am not sure why he would talk to me this way. I was referred by someone and this is not good. I asked if I could speak to Michelle his wife and he said "no" and then he said he is not working on my car and I can come get it....All I can say is I have NEVER experience something like this and it is unfortunate because we were trying to patronize a local business who seemed to have reasonable prices rather than deal with the dealership. Honestly it is worth spending the extra money at the dealership. I will never, EVER go there again and will actively spread the word to avoid this place like the plague. read more
