We got here at 8:00am and got out by 6:10pm I'm grateful for them helping me same day to get me back on the road, even if it did take 10 hours and I almost got overcharged. We did not like the process of getting our truck back and how our old catalytic converter was given…read moreback to us. We brought our truck in for service to change out 1 catalytic converter for $1,300. When we dropped the truck off at 1:30pm, we offered to pay before we left, but Effrain said to pay later, and pick it up at 5 pm. When we came back to pick the truck up (at 4:45pm), we were told we couldn't pay by credit card because the credit card system was down due to an internet outage, and he could only accept cash. That should have been communicated to us BEFORE we drove back to get our truck! Who walks around with $1,300 in cash? A simple phone call letting us know that the credit card machine was down, and to bring another form of payment would have been appreciated, but instead we drove down there not knowing this, and having no back up form of payment because the bank was not nearby, and closing in 15 minutes at 5pm! At this point, we just wanted to pay the cost and have our truck back, so we offered to write a check. He said 'no because your check could bounce'. Then we offered to leave our credit card so he could charge it when the credit card machine was back online, but he said 'no because we could cancel the credit card and never see us again.' This left no other option for US, so he insited that he has to keep our truck there and for us to come back the next day to pay and pick it up! We left there feeling like we were being viewed as potential criminals and was being punished! We were NOT happy with this since this could have been handled by a quick 'our machine is down, bring cash' phone call! The last part to this was that we told him that we wanted the old catalytic converter back once he replaces it with the new one so we could send it back since it was still under warranty, and when he gave it back to us, it was cut in several places! We were NOT happy about that, and he jokingly said, it will fit in a box easier (for shipping). Now that upset us because cutting it in pieces voids the warranty because they shipped it to us in one piece, so we were going to send it back in one piece, not several! It could have just been unbolted and not cut. Looking under the truck, the newly installed catalytic converter was also not lined up matching the original configuration. Needless to say, having better communication with us would have been a plus!
