my carry out was missing a small white rice... when you pay almost $20 for three items and one is incomplete.. it shorts everyone's meal then I tried to use the IPHONE app to get credit, I didn't see any new addition to what I already had accumulated.. I absolutely loved all the food at this place. Recently our go to carry out Weng Lee closed. I did a 90 min hike with a friend and he wanted Chinese. So went here because it was close to where we were. I loved their sweet and sour sauce. They do it right! Everyone should realize to make the sauce out of real plums is very expensive, but tastes the best and places that do this are next to none. I don't understand all the reviews complaining. This place deserves 5 stars everyday. Everyone was nice. The place is pretty. The food is perfect! I am very picky about my Chinese food. Only other places I will eat are Chinese Kitchen in Naperville, China Chef in Westmont, or Golden Chopstick in Bolingbrook. This place is closest to me and will be my go to from now on. Period. Very nice place, extremely nice people, food is fantastic, well cooked, and made to your likings and accommodations. Recommend calling in an order(pick up or delivered) walking in to place an order, or sitting down for great dinner or a nice lunch, (food is made fast and well, real home cooked meal) waiter is funny and respectful. Just ok. The staff was very friendly, however the prices here are at 60-70% higher than you would pay at other Chinese restaurants in New Lenox. Food was OK. Nothing special. Also we waited a really long time to get our food. read more

I like their food, although it's not as good as it used to be, but they really dropped the ball tonight. Told 75 minute wait for pick up. Got there and the waiting area was jam packed with people, crammed in like sardines. In this time of Covid-19 they have no concern for their customers although they are all behind glass. People had been waiting 2 hours for their orders. Called them after waiting for 20 minutes and they said it would be at least another 20 minutes. Asked if I'd like to give them my credit card to"speed things up" but no way was I going to get trapped into having to sit and wait for hours because I prepaid. We wound up cancelling our order and leaving. I get that they are busy on Christmas Eve but maybe they should stop taking orders if they can't handle that many. They should not risk people's health by jamming them into a tiny vestibule. They could have people wait in their cars and bring the food out. A lot they could do it they cared enough to do it right. I was disappointed - I was served imitation crab when the menu didn't state that - it said crab. Imitation crab does not work well in hot dishes! I believe this may be the best Chinese food outside of China Town Chicago. The egg rolls are second to none. The wait staff are chinese so there may be the occassional difficulty in clear communication and the prices are on par with other quality chinese restaurants. Chinese is one of those things I am very picky about. Trust me when I tell you I know good chinese food. I have been eating it since I was a small child and that's 30 years of practice. Rising Sun is very good and consistent. The home made fat egg rolls and home made sweet and sour sauce are amazing. Mongolian Beef is one of their staple items and is also delicious. The fried rice is always flavored and cooked right not undercooked, nice and brown how it should be. Most of the items on the menu are very good quality with generous portions. Better off with carry out here though and reason for my 4 star review instead of 5. When you aren't use to the Chinese culture they may come across as blunt or rude at times, but they are just different than average Americans. If you have a complaint or something was not made right they get an attitude because they do NOT like wasting food lol. Doesn't make them bad people, but if you don't like that then order it to go instead, you won't be disappointed . read more

Excellent food, friendly staff, and comfortable atmosphere. I've enjoyed eating lunch here weekly for the past several years. They feature daily lunch specials. They recently added a Customer Rewards app. The egg rolls are excellent and my favorite dish is House Special Chop Suey, However, General Tsau's, Chicken and Mongolian Beef are also very good! read more
