Must have changed hands bc it used to be to be really good, my most recent dining was hardly the same that it used to be to be. It was not too good at all the way it was served or the way it was made, totally different! This was my go to favorite place unfortunately I will not go back. The staff was also extremely rude, as if you were bothering them to be there. Will have to look for a new place bc this one just doesn't cut it. I must not. E the only one seeing this difference, the place usually is packed with a lot of customers but I was the only one there, other customers must have figured it out before me. I've tried just about everything on the menu and nothing was disappointing to me but my favorites are: The egg rolls, seafood delight, shrimp with lobster sauce and the spicy Mongolian beef. Decided to stop here after a long week of traveling and wasn't feeling like cooking. Overall, pretty good experience. Food was tasty and large portions, which is good because it is not your cheap takeout place (with two apps + three entrees, we spent 100+). Beef lo mein pork fried rice. We had enough. food for 6 people! The chop suey and LoMein only real difference is the pan fried noodles or plain white rice. The generals chicken was good. Not really spicy. Pork fried rice I detected a garlic flavor but very tasty. They do not offer sizes. Most entrees could easily be shared by 2 or like we did share them all and bring. This has been my favorite restaurant for over 30 years. I am not sure what is going on recently tho. I met friends there Friday afternoon before Christmas, I got a lunch special which comes with pork fried rice, it was inedible. The fried rice tasted nothing like the rice I have been getting all these years, it was full of what tasted like a mound of garlic. My husband and I have a tradition of getting Rising Sun for New Years Eve (even tho we have moved and are an hour a way) I still drive out to pick it up every year. I was hesitant this year after the terrible rice the week before but hoped it was a fluke. This time the fried rice was over cooked and tasteless. I hate when you order an eggroll and you get a deep fried spring roll. Its a tasteless, grease filled disappointment every time. There were extra large canned mushrooms all over everything, I wish I knew this before ordering. I will ask next time if the mushrooms are canned - my bad. Fried rice was good, but once we took all the canned mushrooms out, there was barely any substance in there aside from rice. No broccoli, peppers, carrots! The lovely, clean dining room is appointed with carved wooden screens, Chinese chandeliers, red/black tables and booths, making the atmosphere enjoyable. The wait staff was very attentive and quick to take care of guests. I ordered the wonton soup. You can judge a Chinese restaurant by this simple staple. The broth was rich and flavorful. The wonton pasta was nice and hearty. Six wontons filled with 2 tsp of seasoned meat swam in the bowl, along with bean sprouts and chopped bbq pork. It was... acceptable. The place was not good if I could give it lower than a one star I would. I ordered a house lo main and it was not good, the total for four people was $164 and there was a 25 dollar service charge. There was no sign saying there was a service charge and there was no service, the lady came up to us two times after we got the food. We had to get up and ask for water and napkins.
