Coming from someone who is Lao, Oy's Thai is the most authentic, delicious, consistent Thai spot that we have found in the south suburbs. Their prices are extremely reasonable, the quality and amount of food you receive is like down to a science. They offer ~$9.00 lunch specials every weekday until 3pm (and specials for students) it really doesn't get any better than that like wow! The staff are always very friendly and accommodating and the food comes out fresh and hot. What else could you possibly ask for. I am a long time advocate of Oy's but my carry out order tonight just didn't cut it... Ordered 3 items - Pad Ma Ma Shrimp / Cucumber Salad / Chicken Satay The chicken satay & cucumber salad were the first courses, except the chicken satay was, in a word, inedible. Whoever was preparing it, cooked it to the consistency of shoe leather. This set the tone and after a few bites that tested my teeth and fillings, we had to abandon it. It seemed that they didn't have their usual kitchen staff on hand. This might have been the cause. As someone not super familiar with Thai cuisine, I wasn't entirely sure what to expect, but everything from the flavors to the portions was top-notch. We ordered for pickup and the food was ready in just 15 minutes. The inside felt modern and minimal, with limited seating and a steady crowd of diners and takeout customers, which is always a good sign. We tried the shrimp spring rolls, chicken Pad Thai, drunken noodles with chicken, and the chicken pineapple fried rice. First off, those shrimp spring rolls? 10/10. Super fresh, light, and the perfect way to kick off the meal. The Pad Thai--Oy's signature dish--was the highlight. Easily the best I've ever had. Rich, flavorful, and perfectly balanced. The drunken noodles were right behind it--loaded with flavor and a sneaky little heat. We went with the normal spice level, but beware: those little red peppers pack a serious punch. (Keep a tissue handy... or a glass of milk. Or both.) The pineapple fried rice was solid. Not quite as bold or savory as Chinese-style fried rice, but still tasty and a nice complement to the spicier mains. Overall, Oy's delivers some of the best Thai food in the south suburbs. I was in the area and saw the restaurant. I placed an order for crab Rangoon and shrimp drunken noodles. The food was done at the time I was given for pick up. I was very happy with the food. If you are looking for horrible thia basil that is swimming in water with no flavor and uncooked soggy tofu then this is the place for you!! Absolutely disgusting. I threw it out. I also ordered thia rice with beef and chicken and paid for it only to find out there was no chicken. Yet again another horrible bland dish. Big waste of 40.00. Food was also greasy. Small restaurant, limited seating, so I did take out. Lot's of traffic and now I know why. The dishes we chose were Authentically Flavorful. My hubby chose the Chicken Pad Thai, with plenty of Peanuts. The portion per order is 3-4 servings, a side of Plain Spring Rolls which are packed with plenty of Cilantro just so you know. If you have peanut allergies,I suggest you steer clear of Thai food FYI. I ordered the Pineapple Fried Rice with Chicken, lip smacking dee-licious!!!!! Its a yes for me for this rice its so refreshing with every bite you taste the sweet and juicy Pineapple!!!! I had a side of Shrimp shu mai dumplings and these little dumplings about the size of gumballs were very tasty!!! A little bit of a pricey meal, but worth every cent!!! The staff is super friendly. I am a picky eater; yet, the cook prepares my food as desired. Hands down one of the BEST Thai restaurants I've ever been too!!! We travel 40 minutes to eat here...often! It's a little small with about 5-6 tables. Nice big windows. I think it's more of a carry out spot. They have lunch specials which come with a cup of soup and fried wontons. The soups are always good! We've had the pad Thai which we love. It has a darker sauce than other places but it's delicious! Other noodle dishes we tried were pad woonsen, pad ma ma, and drunken noodles which we were not too fond of. Pad ma ma is definitely my favorite! Out of the 5 curries they have, we've tried 3. Panang, green and red. I regret waiting so long to try Thai curry! All 3 were so flavorful and had the perfect amount of spice. The creaminess of the coconut milk ties it all together. these curries our new comfort food!! The service is always great as well! Very unique version of Pad Thai. It was okay with the combination of spices. It was quite oily though. Not sure if I would call this pad Thai but it was a decent noodles with spices. I went here twice to give an accurate review. I ordered the mango sticky rice and asked if it was fresh, the guy said yes hesitantly which should've been my sign. Since I was craving I just went ahead and ordered. When I got it, I was disappointed. I did carry out both times but they do have some tables to eat. read more

Oy's certainly isn't much to look at, but that shouldn't stop you from checking this place out. I stopped by Oy's on the way home and picked up three meals to-go and the food was delicious. The restaurant itself is very small, and only seats about 20 people. Despite this, there were lots of people dining in, which I took to be a pretty good sign. The woman at the counter was very friendly, and even though I didn't order ahead, our order was ready in no time. We're pretty basic when it comes to Thai food, so we decided on Pad Thai with chicken, Pad See Ew Rice Noodle with beef and Chicken Thai Curry Noodle - which had a little spice to it.. which I like. We also ordered an order of chicken pot stickers to snack on. The portions could've been a bit bigger for the prices, and even though the 4 of us were all satisfied, there were no leftovers - which IMO is the best part of ordering Asian food. For some reason the food seems to taste better after it sits for a day.. Again, we were full, but the serving sizes were conservative enough to knock off one of the stars in this review. Food is good, service TERRIBLE!!! Went there Friday , they told me My food will be ready at 6:55pm. I waited inside for 20 minutes . After getting home, I realized my order was wrong. I called and spoke to the owner. He was so rude and refused to do anything about it. He told me, " sorry, not more I can do about this." Will not be going back. I grew up on Vietnamese food, not Thai.  But, I have to admit, Oy's Pho is like no other I've ever tasted.  Just amazing.  The broth is a very important ingredient in Pho and takes a long time prepare.  They definitely take their time on this because they have reached perfection. I also love the egg roll salad, another Vietnamese inspired dish (I apologize if this came from Thailand first).  Anyways, I grew up on this as well and not only did I love it, but I enjoy Oy's special blend of sauce to accompany it over the stuff I grew up on. read more

5 Stars across the board..!! Our service was good, server was friendly and helpful. The sun was shining in and made for a nice warm comfortable setting. We sampled many items today and all were delicious. Started with the Chicken Satay, the Peanut Sauce was outstanding, Larb Salad was amazing. Green Curry was spicy but not overpowering, Basil Fried Rice again spicy but not overpowering. All in all quite a delicious lunch. Stopped at Oy's with a friend living around the area. She recommended that we stop by, and I am so glad that she did! Oy's Thai cuisine is so delicious! I wish her restaurant was closer to the city! Everyone in the restaurant was so kind and welcoming. I think Oy herself stopped by our table to personally ask how our meal went. It was a fabulous experience overall. The food was absolutely delicious. We shared the Tom Kha soup (Coconut soup base with lemongrass, kaffir lime leaves, galanga, mushrooms, lime juice, white onions, and cilantro) with veggies. The soup tasted fresh and very warming! For the entree, I ordered the Drunken Noodles with chicken. One of the BEST drunken noodles I've ever had! I'm not even exaggerating! The flavors melt in your mouth. The aromatics of the Thai holy basil and Thai chili peppers are so fresh and explodes the dish with such great flavor! Can't wait to stop by one day again! read more

Great food, healthy choices and variety is great Had the shrimp dumplings app, they reminded me of tater tots with diced shrimp inside. Very unique and I'm glad I tried this place out. Very nice little Thai restaurant. Stopped for lunch and the service was quick and friendly. 6 tables in the whole place, plus carry out traffic. Their egg rolls as an appetizer were delicious, great flavor and sauce on the side. Chicken pad Thai prepared with their medium Spice was good. Definitely not the best pad Thai I have had but still good. I would go back to Oy's again, but the pad Thai, my favorite dish, wouldn't be my go to, I would try something else. By far, my favorite meal in New Lenox is the drunkin' noodles with shrimp from Oy's. When I first started ordering it, I did notice that when I got it home in the to go box, the shrimp was a little over cooked as I believe it continues cooking in the tightly closed container. So, I started asking them to cook the shrimp just a little less. Now when I get it home, it's perfect and the sauce has so much flavor. My wife and son love the pad siew with chicken and we order often. There really is no other restaurant in New Lenox like Oy's and I'm so happy to have them in town. read more
