We ordered wontons for appetizers. Although just 4 pieces in a serving they were really good! Tried the mushroom, chicken and shrimp risotto besides the crab cake burger. The shrimp one with corn in it was my favorite. The service was pretty quick and cordial. When we mentioned to the server that it was one of our friends birthday, it was sweet of her to put a candle on one of the desserts (chocolate cake & tiramisu) we ordered. As amazing as ever - and now that I've tried the bacon cheeseburger risotto I'm afraid I may never try anything new here ever again, it is just that good!! I especially love coming here for lunch on a weekday because that's when they offer the mix and match combo - excellent variety of risottos, salads, and tapas to choose from, and all for such an affordable price. Fortunately for me they offer something pretty close to the bacon cheeseburger risotto on their weekend brunch menu (they just slap an over-easy egg on top of it! Went for brunch with a large group. I would give 4 stars for food and 2 stars for service. The food was all delicious but the waitress was very rude and apparently the kitchen staff took issue with the fact that some of us asked for things like sauce on the side instead of on top of the food (which the waitress made sure to tell us, several times). They offer bottomless mimosas for $11 but the giant drinks were about 14 ounces of orange juice and 2 ounces of champagne. The poinsettia mimosa was soooo sickly sweet. For an extra $1.50 per glass they'll top it off with extra champagne, so you can *almost* taste the booze. We were all very happy with our meals and this is one of the few places in the area that can accommodate a large reservation for brunch, so I would consider returning, but I'm not in a hurry to go back. read more

Checked out Risotto on a Friday evening. I made reservations, but they were not needed as the restaurant wasn't busy. My party signed up for the Wine Club at the table for free and received a glass of the wine of the month for free. We ordered the calamari appetizer, which was overcooked. The salad and pita bread were both delicious. The dressing on the salad was a vinaigrette and it was delicious as was the garlic dip served with the pita bread. The Seafood Puttanesca, a risotto dish, was good, but the edges on the risotto cake were overcooked and crunchy. The Chicken Parm risotto dish stole the show. Think chicken parm with risotto in between the chicken and cheese. The portion was huge and everyone at the table thoroughly enjoyed it. The Salted Caramel Crunch dessert was delicious. It was cheesecake with creamy Caramel and crunchy layers. The service was really good and the servers were attentive. Overall, everyone in my party had a great dining experience. read more

We finally found a nice bottomless mimosa spot after bonefish grill was closed. This place is just awesome. The bottomless mimosas are huge and the refills are completely satisfying. Incredible !!!! The pita was great and so were the appetizers. The risotto was okay, mainly cos we didn't expect it to be fried and coupled with the fried appetizer made it overwhelming and we couldn't really appreciate the flavors. The desserts were good too. A well apportioned restaurant in a small plaza across from Albany Memorial Hospital. It is a small facility, and the menu is varied and welcoming for an Italian cuisine experience. The food was prepared very well. I had to start a cup of the Seafood Chowder: delicious. Then for a main course I had the Mushrom Asparagus Risotto. Once again, it was prepared well. Had dinner there with another couple four days ago before seeing a show at Capital Rep. We would never go back; there are so many better places to eat in Albany. The dipping oil arrived with four small sections of dryed out pita. One person ordered Paella; he had a few bites and could not finish it because it was tasteless. Two of us had the Mixed Grill; the salmon was over cooked and dry while the risotto had undercooked pieces of onion in it. But, the steak strips were very good. The risotto is SO cheesy and delicious. My favorite dish is the steak benedict; the sauce melts in your mouth. I am never able to snap a picture because I just want to eat it ASAP. I have been coming to Risotto since it has opened, and have enjoyed lunches, dinners, and take-out service. While not cheap, the food and service have been consistently top notch. The menu offers many choices that are not found any where else in the region, and the chef does a good job getting the flavor/texture/presentation right. All of the food tends to be cooked perfectly, and the portions are ample. One of my favorites has been the portobello burger, which doesn't seem to be available any more. On the plus note, with the menu changing somewhat regularly, it's a place one doesn't get tired of. I keep trying to make it out here for brunch, since the $10 bottomless mimosa sounds enticing. read more

The only good thing about this experience was the actual food. The breakfast burger risotto and the spicy chicken and waffles are a big yes! The wait was 30-40 minutes for a table of two at lunch time, okay I suppose? Come time, the place where we were seated was sandwiched in between two other tables not less than a foot away. Unexpectedly sophisticated and original. First time visit. Two couples of middle aged and beyond.We were very pleasantly surprised at the lovely, intimate setting despite location in a strip mall. great menu with choices from tapas and salads to full dinner and interesting desserts. Our party had the duck breast risotto (WOW!), surf and turf., scallops and sweet corn risotto. Lemon and raspberry dessert cake was amazing. Service was attentive and unobtrusive. Waiter did not follow through our request for 2 separate checks for a party of 4, but it was quickly corrected. One member of our party asked about dairy-free and gluten free options. Sad to say that we had a very disappointing dining experience recently. Although having reservations which would allow us plenty of time to get to a local show, we had to take our dinners to go. Earlier on we explained to the waitress that we had a time crunch and she told us everyone else did also. I want to stress that she was not being rude when she explained that. What upset us is that after being there for an hour and a half (sharing two appetizers, for our party of 4), a nearby table of seven that came in after us, got served and were told our meals should be out in 10 minutes or so! At that point we asked for our meals to be boxed up, got the check & left. (They did comp our appetizers.) To add insult to injury, I ended up throwing my eggplant in the garbage when I got home. For some reason it had a very sour taste. I thought maybe a different cheese was used instead of ricotta, but then I tried the eggplant alone, and that was very sour also. Although it sat in our car for a few hours, I find it hard to believe that the cold temperatures would've ruined this dish! Went for Sunday brunch. The bottomless POINSETTIA was definitely worth it. The waitress was right on top of asking if I wanted another as I neared my final sips. I had the Continental, which is boneless fried chicken, scrambled egg, bacon, american cheese, salted maple butter, served over homemade waffles and with a side of home fries. We came here with 6 people and were initially told there was a 30 minute wait. We asked about our spot in line they said that they were waiting for someone to get up. An hour later they tell us there is an additional 45 minute wait because we did not have a reservation and they can not force anyone from the tables. Instead of telling us when we originally arrived they could not accommodate us they let us sit here until after 1pm waiting to be seated. The manager came over and wasn't accommodating either. If I were rating this restuarant on food alone I'd be hard pressed to come up with something negative to say about Risotto, but I'm not. The server for our table was almost non-existent and only came to the table when necessary. He never offered to get us more drinks, which if he had we would have gotten and he had the check to the table before the dessert. Went to Risotto a couple of weeks ago for the first time. It was great! We got there and we hadn't made reservations. We were told we would probably have to wait about 15 minutes so it wasn't long of a wait. The wait turned out to be probably 5 minutes or less! Both food and service were bad. It took forever to get our food and when it came it was pretty bad. The calamari appetizer was chewy. The risotto (one vegetable and one seafood) was overwhelming with too much cheese and salt. Even the simple kids orders were a disaster: for an order of simple spaghetti with butter we received tagliatelle pasta (not that it matters but I expect them to know the difference) that was all stuck together and unevenly cooked. This is my new favorite spot for lunch. Lunch menu consists of awesome burgers, unique flatbreads, sandwiches, kebobs, and of course risotto! All ranging from $6-$14 and delicious! Crab cake sandwich is soo good! Perfect crispy outside with a romulade sauce! Kebobs come with wonderful grilled veggies and jasmine rice. Perfect portions!
