Ritcey East lives rent free in my head. The food and the drinks are always delicious! they have a fun drink and food menu. We always have a hard time deciding what we wanted because everything sounds so good. They constantly are rotating cocktail list which keeps it exciting. We have tried almost the entire menu at this point and absolutely everything is amazing. Some of my favorites are the Caesar Kickin Chicken Sandwich, the pierogis, the RFC bowl, the Mini Mac burger, the curly fries. Everyone there is so friendly and so helpful. This is a great place. Super clean, super friendly staff, welcoming environment, good for kids and families. There is a cozy bar as well. Easy to find street parking up front or very closeby. The food is great. The chicken strips are super crispy and flavorful. We always get the fried pickles. Hot pretzels are delicious and I usually do the burger. They have a kids menu with Dino nuggets and buttered pasta so the kids are happy. Portion sizes are very big and the prices are very good. I will be thinking about the Ritcey East chicken tenders for a long time! They were perfectly crispy on the outside and sauced to absolute perfection. Whatever you do, get the Carolina BBQ--it was incredible!! We also got the biggest helping I've ever seen of curly fries as a side to our burger and some of the best beer cheese we've had with our soft pretzel. Our servers were super kind and attentive and we had a nice chat with the owner Max who was making the rounds to some of the tables. After living near Ritcey East for a few months, I regret not visiting sooner!! Our first impression was positive when we walked in and saw the table in the entryway with games, treats and cute decor. We were quickly seated on a Saturday at 6:30 and our waiter brought our water in an instant. We started with fried pickle chips to share as an appetizer - some of the best I've had! They were light and crunchy, without the greasy coating I often expect. They were paired with a tasty sauce, maybe a chipotle ranch?? 10/10 & there were a ton of them! Speaking of serving sizes, the portions are HUGE and very impressive for the cost. My partner and I both got burgers, I got the justice beaver and he got the mini mac. I did like the mini mac more, as it was slightly less greasy and it really did taste like a Big Mac. I will probably order it next time! Paired w the burgers were MOUNTAINS of fries (and tater tots, not pictured). We had more than half to take home with us to enjoy at a later time. For $16 for a huge serving of tasty burger and fries, I can't complain. The vibes were nice and the waiter had a cool, fun, welcoming personality. It was a bit noisy, we had to speak a little louder than usual, so if you're sensitive to sounds keep that in mind. Great food, cocktails, and atmosphere! I love that I can support an LGBTQ+ owned and operated business in my hometown! I've tried the "Mini Mac" burger which has a taste of the McDonald's burger secret sauce but it's so much better! Plus the tatter tots! I can't wait to try more items on the menu. I had a cocktail that was a twist on a whiskey sour and it was to die for. I think it's the only true outwardly LGBTQ friendly/-affirming pub or restaurant in Watertown that I'm aware of (not that the other restaurants are not welcoming or anything like that) and I love that it's located a little off the beaten path and not at Arsenal Yards. Great service! The food is great bar food, and their cocktail menu is so intriguing. Have tried a couple of drinks with the infused alcohols they make in house and they are good! Would avoid the espresso martini since they don't have an espresso machine, but their other drinks are amazing! We got a bunch of food to share for the table. Highly recommend the curly fries with the ranch and bacon or animal style both were so good! The pierogies are a little different with the everything bagel seasoning, but well made! The $2 grilled cheese after 9pm was a hit at our table too! The wings and chicken tenders are delicious. Also got the empanadas and they were so filling of well seasoned meat! My partner was contemplating returning to Ritcey East, and we found ourselves weighing the two experiences that we had recently. Our first visit was so great. Wonderful service, with a very charming, gracious waiter, who went out of his way to accommodate our wishes. The chef/owner even came out and asked if we would like our order split onto two plates, because we were sharing one entree. That was so thoughtful, and not something that all restaurants/chefs want to bother with. The food was so good, and we decided to indulge in a dessert, which was amazing. Our second visit turned out to be very distressing. We had wanted to share a meal with two close friends, who had never been to Ritcey East. It was a Friday night, and besides being typically busy, there was a tournament at a field nearby, and they were apparently overwhelmed with the onslaught of guests. We agreed to the 30 minute wait, which was no ones fault, but then once we ordered, we ended up waiting another 30 minutes for our food. Our waiter was rushed, and had little to smile about. Another server that tended to us was cheerful, and sorry for the long wait. The food was very good, but at that point, we were very hungry, and would have eaten anything. The funny thing was, the last item to be served was a salad, which came out at least 10 minutes later. The disappointing aspect of this visit, was that it did not occur to either server to offer some sort of compensation for the extremely long wait. It would have gone a long way in helping us feel better about the whole experience. We doubt our friends will ever want to return, and we our still trying to decide if we want to. Yep, this is a hidden gem. From the moment you walk in you feel at home...greeted by many smiling faces, and warm hellos. Started off with the empanadas. They had a great flavor with just the right amount of crunch. The creama it came with was really good too. I also ordered the fire starter mac n cheese. That chicken on top was delicious! The hot honey buffalo sauce was so good. The Doritos on top added a nice texture too. It was spicy but it was doable...and this is coming from someone who doesn't do well with spice! We ended with the bread pudding "churros" and WOW. If you come here and don't order this dessert you're missing out. This was one of the best desserts I've had. Everything down to the homemade chocolate sauce was perfection. The portions here are generous and I left feeling stuffed. Our waiter was kind and very attentive. The vibes here are also just fantastic, and I love the attention to detail throughout. They even have board games available for you to use! Fried pickles were probably the best I've ever had. Quality pickles and perfectly fried. The dipping sauce was mostly mayo so I didn't use it. They could probably revamp that a bit to something more like a tangy relish dip. But the pickles were tasty and plentiful. The mini Mac is their take on McDonald's Big Mac. It's only a 4 Oz burger. I might have missed the full sized version but didn't see it on the menu. I would have loved a bigger burger. They did absolutely nail the flavor though. I just wish it was more. There was a choice of sides and I went with onion rings. Those were so good. I couldn't finish though. You can see how high they're piled in the picture. I would have preferred half the portion of onion rings in favor of a full sized burger. Everything was really good though. I was so surprised by the quality of the food. The onion rings were golden and not too much batter. Overall this place was a very pleasant surprise. The Mini Mac was definitely spot on in terms of flavor. We're long time goers to this neighborhood gem and it's always delicious. Last night was no exception. I queried if they could try to make a spicy mockarita for me. They did! Thankfully, I arrived very hungry as the mac and cheese portion is huge on its own, but it was also topped with a giant portion of buffalo chicken. They used cavatappi for the pasta, which holds the delicious cheese sauce very well. The chicken had the perfect amount of kick. I felt like I ate two pounds of food, and was able to take home what was still a larger portion than many places give you to start. The cocktails were creative and very good. We got the fried pickles, fish tacos, and empanadas . The fish tacos were tasty - freshly fried haddock with a light batter that was well balanced with the citrus slaw. The fried pickles were generous, but I wish the aioli had a bit more flavor. I felt similarly about the empanadas, wished the sauce had more oomph. DO NOT order the mac and cheese. i've had cafeteria food better. no cheese taste, artificially yellow, and the cheese congealed and looked rubbery after 5 mins on the table. absolutely disgusting. there was food thrown all over the floor by children that the staff took 30 minutes to clean up with a half empty restaurant. read more

I had a great time here trying the Mini Mac and wings. I wasn't a huge fan of their fries, tater tots, or onion rings (they were definitely made in house but lacking crispness) but the burger was tasty and the wings were awesome. I think the burger wasn't right off the grill as it was only lukewarm but it really hit the spot. I did not expect such delicious wings but they were seriously some of the best I've had in the state and this is coming from a buffalo wing connoisseur. I have no idea why it's taken me over a year to write this review, but my boyfriend and I live on the same street at Ritcey East and it has quickly become our favorite restaurant in Boston. Not only are the drinks and food fabulous (if you don't get the mac n cheese you are missing out), but the owners are rare gems. You can tell by their eclectic, creative specials that Michaela just has a passion food and what she does. And Chelsea never fails to greet us with a bright smile every time she sees us. We love this place so much we brought our best friends here, and now they get takeout on their own (and don't even invite us to join). During the pandemic, this is one of the only places I feel comfortable ordering from because I've followed Chelsea and Michaela's journey on social media and I know how much effort they have put into keeping their staff and customers safe, and not putting profit before safety is something you don't always find in establishments.
