Rite Aid - pharmacy - Drugstores Near Me - El Segundo, California

Rite-Aid pharmacy has awful customer service. In April, we got an ointment for less than $2 and in June, they charged over $200. My husband picked up the prescription since I was in the hospital giving birth. Two days later, I called and complained and Rite-Aid told me the price difference was because I had not hit our deductible (which makes zero sense since April was CHEAPER than June). A month later our insurance processed the bill, I found out the difference was due to April being an ointment and June being a cream. I once again called Rite-Aid and talked to the store manager that I'm furious no one explained to my husband that the cream was $200 more than the ointment. I was told their store policy is to explain high cost over $50. I was also told their system can only make refunds within 7 days. Not only didn't they explain the cost differences to my husband, they also didn't honor their 7 day refund when I called and complained 2 days after pick-up. It just blows my mind that the employees didn't follow two of their policies and the management won't rectify the situation. read more

I love this rite aid. I have been coming here since it was a Thrifty's. They still have their ice cream stand so you order by the scoop or buy by the half gallon. The staff is friendly and there is a great selection of candy and other wares. It's very clean and nice post remodel and they are open until 12am, which is later than most places in El Segundo. read more

Decent Rite Aid, usually fully stocked of anything and everything you'd need. In general prices seem lower than a CVS. Also they have Thrifty ice cream for sale which is extremely cheap and VERY tasty! A must visit for the summer! Sometimes the check out line can be very long. I've never been here when this place isn't crowded as it's the only place to get "groceries" in El Segundo now that Cooks is gone. The pharmacy is particularly good and knowledgeable. Way better service than I've ever gotten at other similar pharmacy chains. read more

I've never liked this Rite Aid, and today was the last straw for me. As usual, the checkout line was moving painfully slow. Then one cashier abandons his register to help another cashier with difficult customers - who were already there when I walked into the store. Another employee comes over, so all of us in line are assuming she's opening up a register to get the line moving. Of course not. She proceeds to ignore us, pull the drawers from the remaining registers, and walk away. A fourth employee comes from the back of the store, ignores those of us who have been waiting in line, and walks over to scoop ice cream for a guy who literally just showed up at the ice cream counter. Not once did either cashier, or any other employee who came and went, acknowledge those of us waiting in line at all. When I finally spoke up and asked if it's going to be a while (both cashiers were still inexplicably trying to help the same customers who had been holding up the line), the only response was "well there's only one register." I left empty-handed and will drive the extra mile or so to get to Walgreens going forward. read more

Pay extremely close attention to what price is posted and what ends up your receipt. One example is this morning when I purchased a few items: there were four different Vaseline tins for chapped lips. The price right below said 3.99. My receipt showed $4.29. I told the clerk and she pointed to two of the four and said "these two are $3.99. The aloe that I picked was more. I said "and where does it say that?" When I told my husband I wanted show him and we walked back there, the clerk had removed the price. I have two other incidents - just do watch what price is posted and what they charge you. read more

Okay so I just changed my Pharmacy to Rite Aid in El Segundo. I have a new carrier and they do not use Costco so I had to change. Anyway, I went in to get my prescriptions and the girl behind the counter was in such a big hurry to go on her break she literally waved me off because I had a question. She said she would have to get someone else to help me because she was going on her break. Then the guy who came over could not answer my question, which was fine but the thing was, he bas basixally ignoring me and trying to hurry up with the transaction so he could do what ever it was he was trying to do. He just kept pushing the buttons on the pin pad to make it go to the next page. He wouldn't give me time to read anything. I finally said I had to read what I was signing so he finally stopped pushing buttons. This is the most annoying yet humerus part of all I told him I wanted to know about the medications that the doctor had prescribed me he called his buddy over there and I repeated my request. I said I need to know about these medications. He picked up the first one and said this is an antibiotic and he picked up the second one and said this is a steroid. He stuck them in the bag and gave them to the other guy and walked off..... okay I already knew that... what I wanted to know was additional information about those specific antibiotics and steroids, but I will have to call my old pharmacy and ask them tomorrow I guess. At any rate I have to tell you I have never seen three more rude, distracted, and incompetent people all in one small location, at one time. I would also like to add it was not busy at all there was not anyone else waiting for medication or anything like that this was just terrible and I am going to take my business elsewhere read more

We went for a scoop of ice cream and half the ice creams were either empty or too low to make a full scoop! I asked if they would be restocking soon and the girl behind the counter just said "no" and stared at me. My husband ended up getting a scoop of something and she was so rude the whole time. Similar situation regarding alcohol that Martha posted earlier happened to me (56 years old) because my 30 year old daughter was at the counter and forgot her id. The asst manager refused to allow me to make the purchase. It was an embarrassing situation in front of a huge line of other customers. I understand rules must be followed, but this employee clearly enjoyed exerting her authority and made sure everyone heard her. Had she handled it in a more discreet professional manner, they would still have a valued customer. I've never been back. read more

Never thought I'd write a review for a Rite Aid, but this one is undergoing renovations and is beautiful! It has the biggest selection, beautiful Papyrus cards, a HUGE nail polish display, an ice cream parlor and I'm sure much more that I missed. I am a resident of El Segundo and I go at least once a month to pick up my medicine. The really super thing about Rite Aid (perhaps any El Segundo pharmacy) is there is NO long wait. CVS/Osco/Savon in Manhattan Beach is terrible. I really feel sorry for the people going there. Your wait is usually more than half an hour. I use to be a customer thinking the nice new stores in MB is probably better supplied. Well not really. No different then any other pharmacy. With Rite Aid as a regular customer the staff remembers my name and the pharmacy staff is super nice. I also shop at Rite Aide and they have a nice selection of over-the-counter meds. Some that you will not find anywhere else e.g. Charcoal Pills -- the absolute best med for gas. As with all Rite Aides their ice cream is superb and similar stuff elsewhere will cost you way more. For those who shop at Rite Aid we all know that. read more

Horrible service. Not helpful and prices are higher than others. I recommend driving up to cvs. Their customer service is better in my view. Multiple times they lie and say they have no change. I asked for 5 single dollars in exvhange for my 5 dollar bill and they claim they had no change at all. Only positive is the store stays pretty clean on the inside. read more

If you live in El Segundo, you are pretty much forced to shop at this place because of it's convenient location. Be prepared to stand in line with about 15 other people. Usually there are only two checkers and the staff are incredibly rude. The prices are okay, especially if you have a Rite Aid card but that's about the only plus. Another problem is their pharmacy. I had a script filled and when I got out to my car to count the pills, two were missing. Management was no help. I'm so glad I moved away from El Segundo and that shitty Rite Aid. read more

Its absolute aids (pun intended) I am a photographer and usually don't take pictures with disposable cameras but i recently wanted to start doing so because the picture quality after processing is crazy good. Store is clean, the staff friendly enough but couple of gripes 1. They're always out of Quaker Oatmeal. 4 out of the last 5 walks over I came away empty handed. I recently switched over all my meds to this pharmacy and I have used it in the past. I've been very happy with the service I get and everyone has such a good attitude at the pharmacy and the store. I noticed they have extra staff in the pharmacy but everyone is constantly working. When I get issues with my insurance the pharmacy has been really helpful and reassuring of them getting to the bottom of the problem. There's never really a long line and they are fast so it makes the dreadful visit to get medications not a pain. Overall I've been very happy with this pharmacy and store and I thank them for always having great staff with positive attitudes! read more

This place is the bomb! I've been shopping here for years whenever I happen to be in the area (I live about 10 miles away). And the reason I always stop here is because the employees and managers are always so friendly and helpful. My loyalty paid off a few weeks ago as I stopped by and picked up 2 bottles of Seagrams Gin when they were on sale. Not a huge deal, but I'm in the practice of patronizing businesses that I like. Upon arriving home, one bottle was put in my bar (and gone in a few days), the other was put on a storage shelf. Upon later attempting to retrieve the bottle in storage, I was shocked to find that it sat shattered on my shelf, looking like a deflated wicked witch, all in a pile of glass shards with traces of evaporated alcohol all over my shelves. This really sucked. Long story short, after photographing the broken bottle and contemplating contacting Seagrams, I called Rite Aid, reached a wonderful manager (who's name I can't remember at the moment), and explained the story to her. She was more than understanding and accommodating, saying that as long as I have the receipt and broken bottle that they'd be happy to replace it for me. How's that for customer service? Pretty darn friggin cool! Now we all know that I could have dropped that bottle in a drunken stupor. It could have shattered in my car. I could have drank the whole bottle of booze, broken the empty bottle and asked for a refund. Any number of things could have happened to it that would have been my fault (but it really did shatter somehow while on my shelf). So major kudos to all those at Rite Aid El Segundo who trusted my honesty, and know that happy customers are repeat customers! read more

Yeah the ice cream's good but it's that way at all locations. Nothing special there. They open a container, put it in the freezer and scoop it upon request. Woohoo!!! What they need to do is get rid of that ghetto Asst. Mngr. girl they have in there who doesn't appreciate her customers. She wouldn't allow me to return my Rite-Aid branded product without a receipt although consumer affairs states that in CA any branded product which is guaranteed has to be refunded upon request with or without receipt. The worst pharmacy I've ever been to. They always give me a hard time about my insurance not accepting this or that.. When all they have to do is give me the generic version of the prescription and it goes through no problem. Really not that hard to figure it out. All the pharmacist are so rude and have bad attitudes. This Rite Aid is currently remodeling. There is no sign" pardon the mess", etc. boards are sticking out , wires hanging down from ceiling. Also they made me wait over an hour for a prescription because they had to call the doctor. There was no wait at the pharmacy so didn't understand the wait time. Would have given this 5 stars but the ice cream department is closed during renovations. I didn't want ice cream, but I am sure this will devastate someone in the community. However, I do give them a solid 4 stars based on the guy in front of me on line. I mean where else could one stop and prepare for Sunday Funday to this grand extent. Went there for ice cream last night and i loved the flavour i had pecan ice cream and it was good i guess it was a new flavour because i never saw it before because i do shop here sometimes. This is a pharmacy review only: I am here filling my last prescription at Rite Aid. I have had many prescriptions filled here over the last three years however in the last six months or so it seems like the wheels have fallen off. Prescriptions are never ready when the system says they will be ready. I came in for example, yesterday. The phone system said my prescription would be ready at 10:30 AM and when I came at 4 PM they said only one of the medicines was in stock. Here I am back to pick it up 25 hours later and the prescription was still not ready and had to wait another 15 minutes. The staff is pleasant and I think they are hard-working. Maybe they just have bad management, bad systems, or are simply overworked: but the end result is the same. My advice is save yourself a lot of trouble and go to the Walgreens pharmacy in El Segundo instead. I have had no problems there and they actually have a drive-through that is awesome. If you just need medications filled and filled frequently like me that's the place to go. read more

Cashiers are typically friendly. However, the service beyond that is terrible. You can stand in line and wait for ice cream...while employees wonder around doing nothing or chatting among themselves. I thought customers were priority. I was in the store two weeks with an attempt to scan a photo...after asking for help with the scanner which wasn't working, I waited 5 mins only to be told that it lost it's connection and they had to reboot the photo computer. So, I waited -- then once it rebooted another 10 mins. I was told the scanner didn't work and they would have to call the IT tech to come out service it. I asked if they had a time line when so, I could come back. They said a few days but not for certain. It was a wasted lunch hour getting nothing accomplished. And on top of that I called today - over 2 weeks later and the machine is still down. Spent over 12 mins. on hold on the telephone while I waited for someone to check to see if the scanner is working. WOW! Scary the lack of customer service. read more
