I really like the layout of this Rite Aid. Similar to why I love Trader Joe's, the layout is wide instead of deep, like other stores. This means that the aisles are shorter, and it takes less time to walk to the back of the store than other places. This Rite Aid also has three entrances in front, which allows us to walk in and see the many aisles, then picking the aisle that we want to go to. The size of this store is just the right size. This means, like Trader Joe's, they have to stock just the right amount, and not face customers with a huge aisle of hair products (too many to choose from) This conforms to the small town feel of Lake Oswego, which we locals have come to love. Such a strange store. The pharmacy actually is fine.. at least when they have the prescription. What gets me is that the store portion of this location is almost always under stocked. I went yesterday to get oral wax for my kids braces and the whole dental are was nearly empty.... Ok, off to CVS where they had 2 different types.... Today, went to Rite Aid to get nail polish remover for the same daughter and they were out of stock! There is a whole isle dedicated to nail polish and nail polish remover! How can a store that is half beauty product be out of something like this? So I drove up the street to Safeway where they had not one, but two choices for nail polish remover.... I mean, it's really odd that they are so understocked. read more

The pharmacy is so fast and the pharmacists are wonderful. Ron is our hero! He really cares and has bent over backwards to make sure my son had his medicine at the last minute when we needed more asap and has checked insurance and gotten approvals even when clearly very busy, without my even asking and when I would assume it wasn't worthwhile. He has saved us money on more than one occasion and is so helpful and informative Best pharmacy I have been to besides our family's when I was a kid! read more

I'm here to add to the general unpleasantness of shopping at this store generated by employees who clearly need to be working elsewhere. So, last night, my 11 year-old daughter and her friend (also 11), went into the store to pick up some things for a sleepover using cash earned from allowances, babysitting, etc. They were immediately greeted by two older clerks. The male clerk followed them and asked where their parents were. They stated we are 11, and we are allowed to be in the store. My daughter's friend's parents were around the corner at an adjacent ice cream shop. He then accused them of coming in to steal something and said "kids always come in here to steal something." He then proceeded to stalk the girls throughout the store. Neither had a backpack or clothing where inventory could be concealed. A grown man. Following preteen girls. Now, this store is older, located in an area where development is slated to begin. The only thing keeping this store open is teenagers buying candy or cosmetics or older people who've lived in this suburb forever and use the pharmacy. If you've got an inventory control problem, that's on you. But I haven't seen many kids going in with baggy pockets or backpacks. I have seen a lot of grannies with large purses though. See how that profiling works? I can't imagine what would have happened had my daughter and friend not been white. So, hopefully that guy feels like he did his job. Because in addition to his "job" of creeping preteens out and making them feel like them learning about budgeting and purchasing something is just about being accused of stealing, he also made sure two families will never shop or fill prescriptions there again. I usually use a friendlier Rite Aid on the other side of LO, but I think on general principle, I may start using Walgreens. This location can rot and go out of business. read more

New to the area. Love this place. Sure it's not super organized and sometimes it takes too long to check out. But the people are friendly and the store is well stocked, clean and prices are good. The pharmacist is also really nice and I've had no issues transferring my prescriptions or getting them refilled. It's awesome having such a great in town. Shop local people. If I could give this location 0 stars I would!! We moved to Lake Oswego in June and have nothing but problems. Ron the pharmacist and his staff are rude and some of the most incompetent people I have dealt with. On numerous occasions they have refused to refill prescriptions despite them being due for refill. My last straw was on the evening of 9/11/23 when my husband was out of a medication. They told me the doctor won't authorize it(which is a lie) and to come back in the morning. I said I would be there at 9am to pick it up and I was told that they would get it ready when they had time and that I wasn't a priority. Well guess what I called the providence after hour provider who told me I was right and that my husband is out of his medicine. They sent over a new prescription to a different pharmacy for me to pick up and now my husband won't have to go a night without his medication. I will be filing a formal complaint with the pharmacy board against Ron and his staff! read more

I called today to get a COVID vaccine for my 13 year old daughter. The voice mail states they have vaccines in ALL rite aid store for 12 and over. I called 4 times pushing 3 to get to the pharmacy. It's says please hold rings then silence. So I called back a 5th time to ask "general" question "5" the lady answers. I explain to her that I'm trying to get a hold of the pharmacy that the phone must not be working. She cuts me off very rudely , and transfers me. The guy picks up. I explain, he cuts me off and says we don't have Pfizer. I asked why it says it on your vm? He just said we don't have it. Doesn't give a crap. The only reason I called first was because my daughter is nervous and I just wanted to make sure it was as easy as they say it is. Not a pace I would take my kid anyway. I happened to be on the other side of Lake Oswego. So, I took a little detour as I was looking for a particular L'Oréal product. I thought that because this store is bigger than downtown and The Pearl, I would find what I was looking for. Sadly, the cosmetic section was not very well stocked with what I was after and I ended up leaving empty handed. Generally speaking, this is your average well stocked Rite Aid, bright and well lit. It is clean and tidy, inside and out. Bonus points for no panhandlers outside the door to trip over (ahem downtown). Double bonus points if you stock up on your L'Oréal products. read more

Heed the warnings about the pharmacy. This place is crowded and customer service is terrible. On my first visit I didn't have my insurance card with me (first time I've ever filled a prescription). I was told I could pick up my prescriptions and bring my insurance card the following day. When I showed up the next day my prescriptions were ready but I was told it would take "at least a half hour to re-bill." This was followed by "well why didn't you call the insurance card in to avoid the wait?" Of course if I had been told the night before that there would be a half hour wait to "re-bill" and that I could call the information in ahead of time to avoid this I would have. Not sure how I was expected to know either of these things but the woman "helping" me made it clear that it was my fault. read more

I've been going to this rite aid for over four years. Something has happened in the last year to their pharmacy. Change of management? They are completely incompetent. Not the lovely Indian pharmacist but everyone else. I literally had the other male pharmacist tell me to get something over the counter instead of getting what my dr suggested! That's completely illegal. How does he know what my dr wants? There is another Rite Aid on Boones Ferry where they know what their doing and treat returning customers with kindness. Pharmacy is a 4.5/5. Interactions at the pharmacy have generally been positive; most employees are very nice and eager to help. Store: 1/5 My experience with the rest of the store is consistently negative, however. I understand that running a cash register isn't the most glamorous or fun job, especially now. However, I think a base level of professionalism is still to be expected, especially since these problems have been occurring for a while now with no apparent attempt to change or improve. Out of sheer convenience, I've been going to this store for years, but I would hardly say it's worth the slight convenience its location affords. The cashiers are more incompetent than hs sophomores starting their first job, and with far worse attitudes. My experiences here have generally been quite unpleasant. The employees seem constantly annoyed, which again is understandable to a certain degree. However, as with any job, a certain level of professionalism is still expected and the employees here seem to never reach it. As a customer for rite-aid I don't expect to be pampered as if I walked into Chanel, but I would rather not feel irritated and somehow also sorry for inconveniencing the cashiers because I am literally just making a purchase and "forcing" them to do their jobs. read more

Rite Aid corporation, you have a seriously underperforming store (and pharmacists) in Lk Oswego. I thought that Rite Aid Corp was foremost a pharmacy. This one I would only return to for a pack of gum or a post Halloween candy sale. There are much better options for our business and pharmacies and pharmacists who at least act like they want our business. Suggest to Avoid this pharmacy at all costs. Yesterday after lengthy wait, finally abandoning the vigil to get a surgical outpatient her pain med. had to wait another 90 mins before they were ready to make the return trip to finally pick up her pain meds. Today w a new prescription, Pharmacy had nearly an entire day to fill a prescription for same friend who is now a day out of surgery and recovering at home. The Dr called 2 scripts into rite aid by 10am. We called around 1pm and were told they were ready. Waited until 3pm after the 'all clear' just to be sure. Get there, 4 people in line, 3 elderly customers waiting in chairs. 20 mins later I am at counter...prescriptions not ready. Told 'you can wait.' 'How long?' I ask. 'An hour' I'm told. Adios rite aid. Called Dr and had prescription sent over to Safeway pharmacy a block up the street. They had it done in 90 mins. There is something seriously wrong w/ this rite aid. Corporate needs to 'drop in' to see for themselves and fix the pharmacy clown car routine or shutter it and open a Circle K cause vitamin water, cigarettes, beer and candy is all that's worth trying to get there. #dislike read more

John and I just called Rite Aid to see if they have the flu shot available (we called to ask before hand because the Safeway next door was all out). The guy who answered the phone was super rude, short and not listening to the actual question we were asking. After hanging up I decided to called back to and let a manager know how we were spoken to. The same guy picked up and I asked to speak to a manager, he says "were you the one I just spoke to about flu shots?" I replied "yes" and he then starts laughing (which I pointed out helped prove my point). This is the second formal complaint I have made to rite aid and won't be going back here - even tho I've been going here for over 10-15 years. I have a lot of friends who stopped using this place but felt like I wanted to give it another chance. read more

While I'm definitely not one of their big shoppers, I do appreciate how Rite Aid is there whether I need to buy a quick candy bar or I need some goods. This particular Rite Aid has been a convenient retail destination for years, and I'm happy that I can buy some athletic wrap or sole comforters from them. In fact, when I needed a new watch they had a nice selection and were very helpful when I had trouble getting it out of the packaging. Based on the other reviews I have read on here, it doesn't sound like this Rite Aid is everyone's cup of tea. But I'm thankful I got to give this place a chance. read more

Pharmacy is terrible. Be warned. I have repeatedly called in prescriptions and then called to confirm they were ready to be picked up and then they weren't and I waited another hour. When I was running a fever on two separate occasions 6 hours after confirming it was ready because I was sick. Unbelievable. read more

I started visiting this Rite Aid when I first moved back to Oregon from California because it was convenient. I've since moved to Sellwood, but continue to make the drive - despite closer pharmacies - because I LOVE the staff here. Well, mostly I love Brian. He makes getting a flu shot the highlight of my year. Candy, Phu and the rest of the crew are great as well - they remember me and we always have a quick catch-up when I visit. Vicky from the front is the most perpetually cheerful, helpful person I think I've ever met. I have a lot of prescriptions and I've never had a single issue with insurance, billing or items being ready on time. The pharmacists have gone above and beyond to help me with rebate cards, refills, etc. You've gotta love a staff you can joke with after they hand you a giant gallon bottle of Colon Cleanse(TM). I'll be coming here as long as I live in the Metro area. Hope the regular staff never changes - especially Brian. Call me. read more

This happened a few months ago, and I've been meaning to review. An older lady came up to the register looking for a cashiers check to send to Apple. The guy at the counter immediately saw the red flag and asked a few questions to her. It was clear that he lady had fallen for a scam and was going to send hundreds of dollars to a scammer. Thanks to the guy at the register, Tristen I think, she was talked out of it and understood what was going on. Lots of people in this situation could have simply processed the cashiers check, but I'm happy he didn't and asked the right questions. Good job Tristen! read more

As much as I would love to give a better rating I truly cannot for the Rite Aid Pharmacy. I've given them multiple chances and today just drew the line for me. Today I called to check to make sure they had plenty of vaccines for the flu shot for a friend and I and the gentlemen who answered the phone was incredibly rude and unhelpful. My friend heard the call snd called back because it didn't sit right with him. The same guy answered the phone and said "you guys are the ones who called and said I was rude." Then he laughed at him. We were shocked by his actions. We asked for a manager and he put him on a "penalty hold" probably telling his side of the story before she answered the phone. She was unhelpful and she had to ask what he wanted her to do? Really?? How about you talk to your employee or apologize for his actions. Long story short this has happened more then once there and my friend and I will never go back. I'd rather drive Further away with people who are more pleasant then go back. I'd like to think things will change but I just hear story after story of them not being the best. read more

Yes, the pharmacy is often busy but I've never had to wait more than a few minutes to be helped. Everyone is friendly and my refills are ready when I expect them. The store is cute and plenty of parking. I enjoy this Rite-Aid and will be a patron for life. read more

Updated: I returned today to pick up my prescription that had been phoned in by the doctor early in the afternoon on the previous day. The wait time was substantially improved - 10 minutes - as they had both registers staffed. I was stoked. I told the kid my name. He searches on the rack, can't find my prescription. Can't find it in the computer. Oh, there is, said my insurance was coming up invalid. Right, because I have a new card. He goes to the pharmacy drop of person and then sends me to her. Bad news. She indicates that it is not in stock. Apparently she chose not to order it when the prescription had arrived. Nor did anyone call me to explain about the insurance. Maybe then I could have given my updated insurance information. Or told them I would just pay w/o applying insurance. No, instead they felt it was the best course of action just to wait until I came in, let me know my prescription had to be ordered and make me come back the following day to get it, thereby eliminating nearly all the convenience of having a doctor call in the prescription (at least I didn't also have to pick it up from the doctor's office). Tomorrow will be my third attempt to pick up the prescription. If successful, it will undoubtedly be my last visit ever to that store. Like other reviews, mine is about only the pharmacy. Went to pickup a phoned-in prescription, so presumably it was ready to go on the rack behind the register. 3 people ahead of me in line, 4 people in chairs waiting for prescriptions to be filled. Lady at the counter had a seemingly unending set of questions for the kid working the register. 20 minutes later he sends her to some at the drop off area. Now, all the sitting people start asking if their items are ready while grumbling about having already waited an hour when they were told it would take 20 minutes. 30 minutes in and I gave up. No one ahead of me had been served - only the lady of myriad questions and the people in the seats. Like I said, my prescription was probably ready. It would have taken the kid 30 seconds to grab it and take my payment. The blame, of course, falls on management for failing to adequately staff the pharmacy, or higher levels for denying sufficient budget to management to pay for adequate staff levels. With a big line, there should never be an empty register, which there was tonight. read more

The absolute worst service I have ever received. I have also become the middle man between Rite Aid and my doctor's office. The same thing keeps happening. Rite Aid insists that they contacted my doctor's office and have even made follow up calls. My doctor's office insists they did not receive anything and end up calling in the prescription. Someone is lying! On top of it all, the staff act like it is all my fault! This is the last time I will use this pharmacy! read more

I rarely write a negative review but in this case I feel that people need to know there is a systems or communication problem in the pharmacy. Instructions from the doctor to pharmacy consistently get lost in translation. Dealt with same issue for the third time today, had to first make sure problem wasn't from doc (it never is), then wait 20 extra minutes while they corrected their own error without apology. And no, I'm not rude as it's unlikely that the person waiting on me has caused the problem. Frequently I observe people around me having similar issues. Something isn't working right over there and third times' a charm. I will not use their pharmacy again. read more

This review is of the pharmacy only, not the general store. I moved here recently and really miss the small, independent pharmacy I used to be able to frequent. This rite aid pharmacy is just the worst. I've now had three prescriptions "filled" here. I was waiting for three fills so as not to write a poor review after one bad experience. Sadly, all three experiences were failures. My refills were never ready on time. I called them in, was told when they would be ready, and I even gave a one-day grace period, not showing up until more than 24 hours after I was told it be ready. Frustrating. Also, the thing that really bothers me the most is when you show up to pick up your items, they say, "Oh, we're still working on it." That is simply untrue. The truth is, they have not started filling your prescription yet. I don't know why they lie. Maybe they are understaffed. The staff seems very young and inexperienced, that may be the issue. I will not return to this pharmacy. They waste all too much of my time and energy. Promises never delivered. Three strikes, you're out. read more

Poor service and inexperienced employees. I called in my prescription days before I needed it, giving them a few days to fill it. My experience with this Rite Aid pharmacy is that they are very slow. However, when I went to pick it up I was told it was not ready. When I asked why, the rude employee told me that it was not ready because they had run out of the medication and they really were not sure if it had been delivered. I've been here trying to pick up prescriptions multiple times and every single time there is an issue, whether it's been filled under a completely different name, not ready (after sending in my refill more than a week ago), being told to come back the next day only to do so and it not be ready again, and so on. It's never simple and when I voice my concerns, nobody seems to care or offer any customer service. I'm just frustrated with having to come back repeatedly and am done with rite aid. I will be transferring my prescriptions to a different pharmacy from now on. read more

Pharmacy review: For some reason my insurance did not go through when I went to refill my pill. The pharm tech (I think) here, Lindsay, explained to me what was going on and suggested that I call my doctor to get it authorized. I did and came back the next day and had exactly the same problem. Lindsay resent the authorization just in case my doctor didn't get it (he did the first time). I came back again the day after and tried to refill my meds, hoping by this time my doctor did his job. Lindsay was ever patient with me, checked the computer file again and informed me that she didn't get the authorization. She called the insurance for me to check to see if the insurance didn't make a mistake. Then she called my doctor herself to find out what happened to the authorization. My doctor forgot to sign it and is not in for the week anymore. So Lindsay explained to me the options I had for my meds (I was completely out) while I waited on the authorization that may not come in today. She was really patient and sweet and then when I thanked her she said she wished she could do more and she's sorry that she couldn't. This was the best pharmacy experience I've ever had. I felt personally cared for and that matters a lot. read more
