Given all the issues retail places have with finding & retaining good help, I think this Rite Aid is decent. I had an appointment for a COVID booster on a Sunday afternoon. No wait! In fact I was a little early & was seen the moment I walked up to the window. Then I did some shopping. Shelves are well stocked, prices aren't bad & when I needed help finding something, someone right nearby was happy to assist. Checking out wasn't terrible. 2 lanes were open & I was first in line behind the 2 people being helped. By the way time I checked out, there was a line of 5 people waiting behind me. Also, easy to park here including very close handicapped spots if you need one. read more

Becayse of that small detail i was treated like an addict or like im looking for syringes for drugs. When visiting our grandchildren here we regularly use this location for medications and many odds and ends. Located right on 3d street immediately prior to entering the crowded downtown, this has good parking and a decent staff working there. Cashiers are responsive and there are workers there who really know the store and can direct you immediately to what you are looking for. Very friendly and helpful. Pharmacy is excellent and if you are in the Rite Aid family of regulars, they have access to your prescriptions so you can get refills, even if your prescribing physician has to renew the script. I have been coming here with my wife for 14 years. Rite Aid was floating above decent mostly, but this year (2024) Rite Aid took a radical turn for the worst. One pharmacist insisted on dispensing a different count (30) than our doctor's prescription (60), demanding we come back in 4 weeks for the ones she was holding. She claimed, as she was shifting her eyes side to side, that her taking half of our prescription was "corporate policy." The store is largely empty shelves. Some common medications, like Promethreum, they told us they couldn't get and suggested we try CVS. I thought, "okay." After transferring our prescriptions to CVS Bon Air the second tranche of pills the Rite Aid pharmacist was holding magically disappeared after she marked the 60 tablets "dispensed." Odd that another Rite Aid pharmacist, a man identifying himself as Alexis or Alex, confirmed that he saw only 30 tablets were dispensed on May 25th. He could not account for the other missing tablets the woman pharmacist took. No wonder Rite Aid is now in Bankruptcy. I won't even detail the rudeness of a number of the staff like Shelley with her glowering hatred. Good riddance. read more

On Saturday 10/1/22 just before the closing of the pharmacy I purchased prescription medications for a friend. Don't know the person who worked in the pharmacy section . I am certain it was not the pharmacist. She did not listen to us. My friend was talking about Norco. The store clerk kept saying something about norcan. My friend needed Benadryl. The store Clerk kept saying that her prescription does not contain Benadryl. My friend needed Benadryl for another purpose. The clerk also seemed to rush us. We also needed Claritin which is kept locked. She was unwilling to unlock the cabinet so we can purchase the Claritin. This is poor customer service. The pharmacist here just accused me of being high on weed at 9am on a Monday, and threatened not to give me my prescription as a result. What in the world?! I had had a joint in my bag the day before, and I guess she smelled something when I pulled out my wallet to pay. I was so shocked and taken aback that I didn't know how to react in the moment. To presume I was inebriated was both extremely inaccurate and inappropriate, and I felt like I was being morally judged by someone who had zero context and didn't even take the time to ask about the situation before jumping to conclusions and telling me that she could deny me service. As far as I know cannabis is legal in California, so I am totally outraged that the pharmacist felt like she could withhold my doctor-prescribed medication (with no contraindications of cannabis use) because of it. There are so many choices about where to fill prescriptions that I refuse to give anyone my business that is going to act like I'm a criminal who doesn't deserve to be served, just because I used cannabis in the safety of a private home the day before coming in. I own a home in this neighborhood and would otherwise have been a lifelong customer, but Rite Aid pharmacy has now lost my business forever. read more

A woman dressed in all black (assuming security or some gig) yelled at me that I could not use my reusable bag to grab a couple items. It was very embarrassing and I don't understand why people are hired that are incompetent rude and disrespectful. Such a nightmare pharmacy. I got a COVID booster and the pharmacist, who had just received her license according to someone else working there, had zero respect for confidentiality. Sitting 20 feet away I could hear her interrogating customers "LAST 4 of your social!!!" "CONDITION!"" for the most private information possible. I found out that the woman in line has Lupus and I also now know the last four of her social. The Rite Aid in Corte Madera and Northgate have much more professional pharmacy operations. ZERO stars I hate this rite aid the staff is beyond terrible I asked to used the restroom and was told to get the key at the front desk then was told to go to aisle 6 and someone will come there when I saw a staff member I was ignored. Then today when I went to get my prescription they told me my insurance didn't cover it I called my doctor and they told me to have them call my doctor, I called rite aid back and they refused to take the number. I have been using this pharmacy for at least 20-25 years. Normally everyone I deal with is polite and helpful. Yesterday while picking up a prescription I encountered the rudest and most difficult person I have ever encountered in any store ever. She refused to help with the trouble I had reading their new screens which are terrible. She insisted I read it myself even though I couldn't see it. She refused any help as to what it said or wanted me to do. She argued every comment I made. When finally exasperated I told her she was very difficult and she said "no you are the one who is difficult." She said go over and complain to the pharmacist. I know these are low paying jobs and believe me I do not set out to give workers a hard time. The pharmacist apologized. She was very kind. However based on what I experienced I am now looking into switching to another pharmacy. I do not need this much aggravation while spending my money. My husband has said I should switch to Costco when he has never had any issues. read more

I accidentally saw a review for Walgreens on Third St. In San Rafael, and it was dated recently. Some things never change. So i wrote my brief experience which led me to talk about Rite Aid... here goes! I share Mike D's review of 7/23/2015 regarding Walgreens on 3rd St. in San Rafael - This store has been HELL since it opened almost 15 years ago. The pharmacy people are rude and inconsiderate and the few times I have HAD to go there, they NEVER fill my Rx without a huge problem or they won't fill it at all. I once ordered photo enlargements (which shows how long it has been at the 3rd street location.) The guy waiting on me, yelled at me when I tried to get his attention. It was as if he were high on Crystal Meth - I am NOT kidding. I was SO blown away, I asked for the manager and he said no one was avaiable. I have returned TWICE in my life to get things because i literally had parked in the garage across the street. SO i bought a box of Good and Plenty and a Birthday Card that i needed to mail that moment. I will never willingly step foot in this store - or ANY other Walgreen's. I got to Rite Aid on Third Street at Montecito. The lines are long to check out at times, but the PEOPLE are kind. AND the Rx is thE BEST. THAT is why I am there after all. If i need candy or a card i can go anywhere. But the Rx is SUPERB. Trinh and Mario were there for 8 years and I miss them horribly. I went to take my mom to the pharmacy and it was very unprofessional Talia was extremely rude as I'm speaking to her she is basically making me feel like I'm talking to a brick wall as I'm trying to help my mom get her prescription. I usually go to Walgreens but it had been temporarily closed so I decided to stop by Rite Aid and I didn't know where anything was located. One of the employees named Jesse noticed me wandering around looking confused and asked if I needed help. He helped me find everything I was looking for and was tall enough to reach an item for me. The younger girl at the register was also very nice and even though I couldn't see her facial expressions through the mask- I could tell she was smiling and she was very professional. If I could give this place zero stars I would. Absolutely horrendous customer service from their cashier Amparo and her associate. From prolonging a simple exchange that should have taken a min to instead taking 30min, snapping to me about what I was trying to do, and just awful attitude through out the entire transaction and making me feel dumb by also talking about my situation with other customers. When I asked for her name after asking for corporate's number she got extremely defensive and her attitude just shot up. I asked for her manager and it then became VERY clear why she behaves the way she does. Vj has zero care for the customer only repeating "Sorry.. Yes sorry that happened." with the most lazy, disengaged tone I've ever seen in a 'Manager'. It was very clear he was just waiting for me to leave and wasn't going to do anything about it. I asked him if he's received complaints before about Amparo and the other one whose name I didn't get and he said a simple yes. So he's received complaints and has yet to properly address the situation? He clearly holds his team to zero standards which allows them to behave this way! And the Pharmacist in the back is just as bad! I went to pick up my medication and there where people in front of me and behind me yet the pharmacist, a young Hispanic male, told me that I need to come at a considerate hour to be mindful to the other pharmacist's lunch. They need to plan accordingly to meet the needs of their customers but this is made worse as he only said it to me and not the lady behind me or in front of me. Please I am begging you do not use this pharmacy!!!! I came in a month after I picked up my first prescription and the woman working told me that I have never gotten a prescription here??? Luckily I had the prescription with me THAT WAS FILLED AT THAT LOCATION and then she was like oh yes you do have one here. This month they told me my prescription was out of stock. That's so extremely funny to me HOW DO YOU NOT HAVE IT AND NOT TELL ME WITH ENOUGH TIME TO FILL IT SOMEWHERE ELSE. Anyway if you love crying after going to the pharmacy this may actually be the place for you. RiteAid seems to have the opposite goal of most places, instead of making the customers life easier and better let's make picking up a prescription like pulling teeth out and then shoving them back in. The staff at this location was attentive. I was greeted as soon as I walked in. Once I was in the store I was asked if I needed any help. The staff was able to direct and help me with exactly what was looking for. All staff members was taking the precautions of wiping down the counters when customers before myself walked away. I'm a Longtime Gold customer- starting back with Trin, for so many years. She's moved on and now we're fortunate to have keslsey, take over lead with Joan, and Miquel. They're three pharmacy professionals we all can count on. I'll share a little story, I recently moved, thinking all pharmacies are the same, but I quickly had an awakening, an epiphany of sorts - all pharmacies are not equal and whatever little nuisances the store has or hasn't, it's the people and there commitment to customer service and kindness they spread one customer at a time. I often wonder if pharmacy students are taught compassion, that customer at their window probably just came from their dr's office prior to opening that RiteAid door. We think of prescriptions so matter factly, forgetting that's someone's mom, dad, grandparent, child and That individual is suffering, stressed, and probably worried by the time they reach the rite aid pharmacist. Remember that Compassion and a little empathy doesn't cost anything. So, here's lots of kudos and appreciation back at you three for all you do for the community. And thanks! read more

They charge you more if you don't register to shop with them. But, the listed price is the special registered person price. So, you get a surprise higher price when rung up. Their prices are already higher than anywhere else. Plus, they have trouble stocking popular items but have fully stocked shelves of crap no one will buy. read more

Dear General Manager of Rite Aid: I am unfortunately writing to inform you of the most disgraceful experience with my mother, husband and I just had at your pharmacy this afternoon (Saturday, Sept 25, 2010 from 4:00 pm to 4:30pm). My mother had called in a prescription refill 2 days prior. We showed up this afternoon around 4:00pm to pick it up. We were informed by the young lady working at the pharmacist counter that it appeared that the order had not gone through but that the prescription would take 10 minutes to fill. We then inquired about the flu shot and asked if we needed an appointment. She indicated that walk-ins were accepted. So my mother and I filled out flu shot forms and sat in the waiting area and waited. Meanwhile, approximately 30 minutes pass by, during which time customers (including those coming in for flu shots) who arrived after us were helped. When my mother and I inquired about how much longer the wait would be and whether we could simply just take the prescription we ordered and cancel the flu shots, the young lady pharmacist immediately retorted in a very extremely rude response stating that she would have had our prescription ready in 10 minutes had we not requested flu shots. The attitude exhibited this lady had was appalling. She continued on stating that now that we wanted flu shots we should have expected to wait 30 minutes, and that she was very busy and could not even estimate for us when the flu shots or prescriptions could be ready. We reminded her that we had called in the refill prescription two days ago and she acted as if this was not her problem and ours alone. Please bear in mind that this young lady had no qualms about reacting this rudely to us in front of an audience of a long line of customers. Having been met with such rude and disrespectful behavior, I quickly informed her that we would cancel the entire order, prescription and flu shots, and would seek them from another pharmacy. My family and I will never again shop at any Rite Aid store as a direct result of this experience and I will ensure that my friends and family and the online public become aware of this horrible experience. You may want to seriously re-consider your hiring practices and training procedures at this location. I am unsure whether pharmacists receive any sort of training in customer service as part of their education, but certainly this young lady could use an extra course in that regard. We request that some formal action or reprimand be noted on this individual's employment record and a formal apology. read more
