Omg! I can't believe this just happened me! I haven't been treated like this from another human in a long time. I raced from work in San Jose to pic up my prescription in time and I got to the counter that was open, it was 7:01 and the female pharmacist made the the other worker close the gate door down right in front of my fACE when I was begging for them to let me just pick it up. It was SO in my face rude that I was in tears. ZERO kindness which I haven't experienced so in my face!! I went to the San Anselmo CVS today with a raincheck from a local CVS in Terra Linda that never got the product in. I went to the CVS store in San Anselmo and the manager would not honor the raincheck in spite of the fact that the raincheck clearly states it's good at any location. The manager said he would give me 25% off but not free. For a free one, I'd have to go back to the original store. When I pointed out the wording on the raincheck, he said "I don't need you to tell me how to do my job. It's 25% or nothing." With that I called him an AH and left. His response was "you are too!" Needless to say, I won't be going to that location again. read more

I love the people at this CVS pharmacy. Too bad I can no longer talk to them. There is a special place in hell for whoever decided that people's life saving medications could be handled by AI with no recourse to talk to a live human being. This is a Fabulous store with people who consistently go out of their way for you. Like in the olden days way back when where people knew each other in everyone is friendly - an old neighborhood store. Friendly people work here, like people and go out of their way for their customers. Rushing back to work I was in a bit of a Health crisis: Older male Pharmacist and other workers took the time and stayed through a little later even through lunch to make sure I understood what the meds were for and how they may or may not affect me. This was amazing experience as they only have a half hour lunch; constantly working, filling orders, extremely busy- yet still friendly, helpful. The cashiers: Roger and blonde woman and staff stocking shelves really love their customers even when they come in rushed and grouchy. I salute you. Such a place like this still exists. read more

Three strikes and you're out this is America people. For at least the third time CVS has decided that their AI system is better at answering phones not questions that people have for calling but answering phones instead of making sure that they have medication that they are return customers take on a regular basis. Pretty shortsighted if you ask me. Apparently, CVS seems to think that medication somebody takes on a daily basis it's not a big thing and so when they don't go ahead and restock AND can't tell you when they can restock AND leave you hanging for over a week without your medicine making your life horrible AND putting your health and wellness in danger. CVS couldn't give a shit. So long CVS!! I will miss your staff at the pharmacy because they are certainly nice hard-working people unlike corporate. Apparently corporate is there just out to find out how much money they can make and screw everything else and everyone else. I will not miss your dysfunction in the least. Too bad because my meds were up in the thousand dollar range every single month and you're now missing out on that. Conversely, Walgreens saved my butt more than once now because of your apathy towards medications. They will now be getting the thousands of dollars in medication I take monthly not you. Inefficient and insufficient! Like many others have stated, the pharmacy never picks up the phone and never has prescriptions ready. Furthermore, if you're lucky enough to get someone to answer the phone they act as if you're bothering them and your questions/inquiries are a nuisance. Just TERRIBLE read more

Wow! WORST store in the history of stores. Employees who won't even look at you when you ask a question. A cashier who's only interested in greeting young girls and yells across the store to do so! Refrigerators broken and they stay broken. Can't buy anything phone charger related because it's all stolen. Panhandlers sitting outside the entrance and broken glass and cake smashed all over the sidewalk. Don't give them your money. They're an insult to retail! read more

Okay, it's been a few years since my last review and guess what, NOTHING has changed. Still dumpy, dirty, improperly stocked with all sort of full merchandise boxes stacked everywhere. I looked for basic items, Tylenol, cough syrup, etc. and if they actually had them the expire date has long past. We lost Walgreens, almost next door, could you PLEASE clean up that disaster of a store you call CVS?????? Please?? Also, tidbit the prices on Amazon are about 1/2 of what CVS charges and I'd really like to support our local stores, but this story is just a sorry excuse of for a store. read more

The pharmacy here is best described as a "time machine." I'm startled both that I keep coming back (close to home) and that others do! Stand in line for 15-20 minutes and if they are behind on filling your RX, the cashier at the end of the first line will sweetly tell you "You'll have to go to 'Drop Off' because I don't have it on my computer." Let that simmer a moment and remember the last time you heard THAT! They deserved Theranos. Oh, thanks for the slow-track back to...I dunno...1988? No sweat, I have all daaaaay (not!)! Worst disaster of a pharmacy imaginable. Understaffed and overwhelmed- constant errors and delays. Avoid if at all possible.

-1 star for the prices. Prices here are consistently higher than other retail competitors, and of course way higher than online. -1 star for the fact that it's obvious nobody cares about the appearance of this store. Lots of empty spaces on the shelf, and the product that is there is stocked in the wrong location or just all over the place. -1 star for the fact that their alarm thing went off on me on the way out. No, I didn't steal anything. I just ignored it and kept walking, because I don't have time for that BS. Nobody seemed to care or notice. Not caring seems to be the theme at all the CVS locations I've visited recently. Most likely this is a corporate management issue, not the employees faults. They need to pay more to get people that care working here and/or have more coverage so they can make their store nice and stock their shelves and then the premium price they're asking for the same stuff I can buy elsewhere for cheaper might just be acceptable. My doc wrote a prescription early Friday morning to CVS San Anselmo CA, and their app said it was out of stock And I should pick it up Saturday at 8:55 PM. But the pharmacy closes at 6 pm. I went in person to ask them what this statement means. They said maybe I could get it on Monday after 2 pm. This is not the first time I have had to wait several days for a script to be filled there. read more

A male pharmacist by the name of Youzoo (sp) was so extremely rude on the phone when I called to ask him a question regarding an Rx that we sent over for a patient. He hung up on me when I told him why we prescribed the dose that we did. (After he tried to tell our patient something different than we told them. He did not let me finish. So unprofessional. I called back several times to ask for his supervisor and they put me on hold. This is no way to do business. No wonder their ratings are so low. A grown man hung up on me? Really? Yep. I can't understand the negative reviews of this Pharmacy. It sounds as if they are describing Walgreens in Redhill, which we switched from to CVS because Walgreens was so bad. Do NOT get your COVID vaccine (or any other vaccine) at this location. I showed up with my appointment printed out (which I thought was overkill, but was thankful I had it) and the staff struggled for 20+ minutes to even find it in their system. Then they could not figure out how to process the insurance. Everything was blamed on the systems. Everyone was courteous, as was I, but it took 45 minutes to get what Rite Aid and Walgreens does in 10. The same person who struggled to check me in also administered the vaccine, and also was answering the phone in the midst of it. On top of that, NONE of the pharmacy staff, including the person giving me my shot, wore a mask. They come into contact with our county's most vulnerable people every day yet none of them, including the chief pharmacist, can be bothered to wear a mask? My husband went to the Walgreens in the same center later that day for his COVID vaccine and said the experience was "flawless and efficient." When I asked the cashier for the key (they lock the bathroom?!) to the bathroom I was told it's "out of order" which is their standard response for "bathroom is for employees only." I could tell it was a well-rehearsed and untrue line. Everyone was very polite here, but there's a serious lack of training and/or systems support. There are too many good drugstores in Marin and there's even a good Walgreens 100 feet from this one. Why would anyone go here? I won't be back. read more

The pharmacy doesn't answer the phone. I waited on hold for 35 minutes, still no answer. When I went in person they had given me the wrong Rx, yikes! When I asked them to fix it they said come back later, the pharmacist is about to go to lunch. CVS was once actually a fairly good store but that was years ago. It's not just the pandemic. It was awful way before that. They never have the thing I'm looking for. It's dirty. Most of the staff is not trained and very rude. It's just an all around bad vibe. As others have noted, this location has been barely functioning for months now due to staffing issues. They never pick up the phone or send reminders when prescriptions are filled. It's time to try the Walgreens down the road. read more

This pharmacy needs service training. Stephanie, the pharmacist is very rude and treats people without respect and makes obtaining medications very difficult. It would be great if Stephanie would have some "niceness" and be a bit gentle when speaking with customers who are sick and need their medications. I am not the only person--other colleagues (in the medical business) have felt frustrated at the POOR SERVICE such as taking days to fill the prescription, telling the patient they cannot have the medicine for weeks since they ran out early (and too bad) they won't fill it even if offered to pay in cash! I have never hated getting my prescriptions filled or going to a pharmacy as much as I do this one. Besides one or two of the daytime pharmacists/workers the rest of them are absolutely probably some of the most hateful people I have ever met. There is always a long wait and they are always understaffed. And even when being patient once you get up to the counter they are hateful, rude and act like you are doing them a dis service by being there. They roll there eyes have no respect for you what so ever. As soon as I can get my things in order to switch pharmacies I will be doing so. I called to talk to a pharmacist today and she told me she didn't have time to talk to me on the phone or answer questions about my prescription. I can't believe the employees are allowed to treat there customers this way. I never write reviews but after being dis respected 10 or more times I am so fed up! read more

Worst service I have ever received. I had a prescription called in early on Monday morning (8 a.m.) for severe poison oak which I need a steroid to address. After going in waiting in line for 35 minutes on Monday, was told not ready but would definitely be by the end of the day. I was told to call in advance to check on status. I called in on Tuesday and was literally kept on hold for 3 hours and 25 minutes before I hung up (obviously doing other things but was interested to see if they ever actually enter their phone). Drove back in and waited in line almost 20 minutes and was told not ready but should be done in the next day. Stopped by again today, and still not ready (after another 30 minute wait). Was told this time they would expedite it for me. I can't imagine ever wanting to go back to CVS for any service after I finally get this prescription. read more

We have used this CVS on several occasions for things like passport photos and the pharmacy. Every single time we've had nothing but the best experience. In fact, each time someone has gone out of their way to help us with the specific needs that we've had and I would rate this store 10 stars if I could. read more

Pharmacy customer service is subpar. Had an issue with to much qty of a prescription being filled and return wasn't an option (citing CVS cash loss). When discussing how to prevent this in the future, pharmacy puts the onus solely on the customer--to ask questions, address concerns, etc at time of pickup. Sure, this "should" happen, but the pharmacist "should" also be responsible for proactive advisement or consultation. It's a 2-way street and the lack of human interaction in such important transactions is palpable these days as well as lack of empathy. So tired of this. read more

After living in San Anselmo for 20 years and faithfully filling my prescriptions at this pharmacy, I'm throwing in the towel and moving over to Walgreens. The pharmacy customer service is inconsistent. However, the bad now far exceeds the good. Tonight, the pharmacist was incredibly rude and inflexible when I requested a refill in person. There was a person ahead of me at the "drop off" line that pitched a tent and was in it for the long haul....you could see it a mile away. When I begged for one of the idle customer service people to assist me....they all shifted their eyes away as if I were a contagious leper really to spew vomit in their faces. When, in fact, I was merely looking to refill my medication. So this pharmacist walks up clearly annoyed....asked me what I wanted and I said I needed a refill and he told me I had to go back to the KOA lookalike and there was no ifs, ands, or buts about it. If the other pharmacist had been there or if they had bothered to clone Jack (aka God).... He would've smiled and asked me if I could wait a few minutes. This unprofessional sourpuss pharmacist was clearly recycled material and should never have to deal with the public. This incident combined with marathon wait times, Ms. long nails that uses her knuckles to punch numbers and if she smiled...her face would fall off to reveal The Penguin in disguise, to the time they!!! Oh wait! This is good. They LOST my ATM card. I called the store many times to ask if it showed up and told them it was lost at the pharmacy counter....I gave up and had to get a new ATM card. One month later!!! I get a call from CVS Pharmacy telling me they found my ATM card and asked me if I would pick it up. Yet...being loyal, I let it go! Indeed, CVS, I am done! Yo! RUDE PHARMACIST.. didn't get the name of the male Pharmacist, extremely RUDE. He was working today 4/9/19 around 10:30am.

THEY LET DOGS IN WILLY-NILLY!!! They never even ASK if a dog is a service dog. There was a woman in there yesterday with a HUGE dog shedding all over the place. I am severely allergic AND, to make matters worse, I have a potentially LETHAL sinus condition which can be triggered by allergens like DOGS! What's more, I have two children with a anxiety conditions who are terrified of dogs. So thanks, all you selfish dog lovers who whip out all your attitude on the poor store workers and lie that your dog is a service dog. 1. Food selling establishments are not permitted to have dogs in their stores. 2. Service dogs are permitted by federal law. 3 ALSO by federal law, it is a FELONY to lie and say your dog is a service dog when it is not. 4. "Comfort" aka "Therapy" aka "Companion" aka "Emotional Support" dogs are NOT Service dogs and are NOT exempt and are even explicitly excluded from the federal service dog law. https://adata.org/publication/service-animals-booklet When I am sick as hell and just trying to pick up my prescriptions, I do NOT want to meet your mangy mutt! I showed them a copy of the fax - provided to me by my doctor's office because they know this is such an issue with CVS. This problem comes and goes. Now it's back again. I am SO fed up. PLUS CVS corporate chronically understaffs this location. The poor staff are so overworked that by the end of the day their eyes are bleary. Meanwhile they are ANGELS. The poor beleaguered employee who helped me today skipped her break (granted I was barely able to stand and looked like death warmed over - VERY BADLY in need of my meds!!!). But the SCRAMBLING that these employees have to do to make up for corporate ineptness is just stunning. So the corporate technology gets worse.... and they cut the staff... hmmmm ... yes, corporate brilliance at work once again! I think I am going to henceforth go to Walgreen's in San Rafael. At least then I'll be reasonably assured that I'll be making only one trip to the pharmacy. Just lost a loyal customer of 10 years. The loyalty, by the way, was for the local employees.
