However, I do take advantage of their lower prices over Long Drugs (now CVS) and there are certain services I enjoy, such as ink cartridge refilling. The refills only run $12 and in contrast a new cartridge runs about $30 or more. The store stocks everything you need from a general store and has a pharmacy, that I've yet to try. My daughter had surgery this morning and the surgeon called in several medications, including one we needed to start immediately--a steroid to prevent post-operative swelling that could lead to medical complications. When I got to the pharmacy at 10am, it wasn't open. After waiting in a long line, and after they opened late, the only, overwhelmed pharmacist on duty said she was completely backed up and had just starting in on 75 orders. She refused to provide me with any information about where my daughter's prescriptions fell in the queue, but urged me not to wait for them, saying that she couldn't even ballpark when my daughter's medications would be ready and that it could take all day. I explained the medical urgency of the one prescription, but there was clearly no triage system in place and the pharmacist remained quite clear that she couldn't even provide an estimate of when it would be ready. Fortunately, I thought to call the surgeon and get the prescriptions rerouted to CVS. But this Walgreens pharmacy's poor quality still led to a medically contraindicated delay in getting my daughter the medicine she needed, increasing the chances of post-operative complications.

Last week, the pharmacy drive-up window was closed, no one in the pharmacy would answer the phone, a medication refill I ordered was canceled without explanation (happened before). I had my doctor send my scripts to Amazon Pharmacy, and they were delivered to my door in TWO DAYS. This is not an ad for Amazon Pharmacy. I mention this because of the comparative efficiency. Imagine not being able to get life-saving medication because your pharmacy is ignoring calls and canceling medication orders with no explanation. I'm done with this place.

Went to pick up a prescription and it was a auto refill prescription. It was not ready. I asked why and they told me there was an issue with the insurance. The insurance company wanted a 90-day supply and the original prescription was for 30. Then they started to argue with me. Then I was given a price for a 30-Day supply since it is generic and is a tier 1 drug on the prescription plan. I was told it would be $17.00 and some cents. I approved that, and heard nothing. I even offered to pay in advance for the 30-day supply so I could pursue the steps required to get my 90-day supply through the pharmacies my insurance company wants me to use. They wanted me to use Costco or CVS for 90-days. They said they will fill the prescription for 30-days and let me pay when i pick it up. I heard nothing. I went back the following day since I had no pills left and that was when it all started. The pharmacist who I believe is Hispanic is a female dog trying to guard her puppies. She is totally unprofessional and needs to be fired. Her customer service skills are lacking, and i have worked in customer service for 35 years. Anywhere else where I have worked, she would have been fired and shown the door. Totally ghetto attitude. She even had the nerve to tell me that my business was not welcome, and that she did not want me shopping in the store. Then she told me that she does not want any more of my prescription business in her pharmacy. I can see why my insurance company does not want to use Walgreens after talking to this lady here. Her attitude is causing people and insurance companies to go elsewhere. I reported all of this to Walgreens corporate and documented all of it. They gave me a case number. I also reported it to my doctor who gave me the prescription that I was getting filled here at this pharmacy. My doctor sent another prescription over to CVS. CVS filled it and there was no problem there. CVS also told me what they were doing wrong at Walgreens because they were able to look it all up in the pharmacy data base that all pharmacies have access to. CVS also said I have the right to have it filled and pay out of pocket and not to use my insurance because it all shows up in the data base regardless of who pays. So if you try and go elsewhere and get another bottle you can't because they can see you already had filled it somewhere else. This pharmacy here is turning away business. Lost business is lost profit for the store and Walgreens Corporate. Walgreens needs to get busy and fire this lady quickly. She is sabotaging the business here and is turning away customers who are the very people who bring in the revenue for the store and company. She needs to have her pharmacy license revoked and she should not be working with medicine at all period. This store is trashy, dirty, and the parking lot is always dirty. Total filth here too. There is no cleaning going on here at this store. The corporation needs to close it completely. The CVS in Pinole is better run and a much cleaner store.
