If it doesn't get better I will be leaving and going to either Ralphs or CVS and dealing with the drive. The pharmacy always has a line and I swear they are overworked by the look of frustration on the pharmacist's faces. I don't even know if adding more employees would do the trick. Then again, if they just came out of bankruptcy Rite Aid aren't going to add the payroll to their overhead. They even close for lunch now. It's a year later and nothing has changed. They are awful at answering their phones at this pharmacy. I had issues with a prescription, a representative from Blue Shield tried to reach them, and when someone finally picked up she was met with the same attitude. Blue Shield's representative said the lady who answered was not helpful and rude. This is my favorite Rite Aide! They always have everything I need and the best selection of Thrifty ice cream. I bought the professional grade ice cream scooper and my ice cream looks amazing with every scoop. My favorite ice cream is the Rocky Toad, chocolate brownie, black cherry and butter pecan. I find the service at this location horrible. I just spoke to a very rude person named OB regarding my prescription. He was rude, arrogant, and had a very bad attitude. After having a five minute conversation, I still don't know whether my prescription is going to be ready and when? This has been my experience every single time I needed to refill a prescription and unfortunately, because of my insurance coverage, I have to go to Rite Aid. I never get the text when my prescription is ready and no matter how many times I complain nobody cares. I would love to go back to CVS. read more

No matter how often I try over and over and on various occasions to ask about a prescription my doctor sent in two days ago, I've not gotten a text that they filled it. I have had to use this pharmacy as they are one of the view that carry my med. The pharmacy here is unfortunately a hot mess. Cannot call and speak to anyone, sometimes a text when meds are ready, sometimes not. Sometimes meds are ready when you show up sometimes not. The staff are so overworked and face unhappy and impatient people all day every day. The girls behind the counter have a really tough job and do the best they can. One young lady in particular called Erica was working really hard to get my meds ready for me as we were waiting for a third count of my meds. That took almost an hour as they were waiting for a replacement pharmacist while everyone was out to lunch. Erica checked in with me constantly, apologized profusely and did her VERY best for me and everyone else that were waiting for someone to come back. People were so angry and impatient with her, but she remained kind, and considerate, and did her very best to take good care of ALL of us. The staff at Rite Aide at 1331 Wilshire are always friendly and helpful even when I am not picking up a prescription. However, when I do the pharmacist Pouya Fakheri, is very helpful and makes sure that I understand the prescription I am about to receive. In addition he has a phenomenal memory at recalling what prescriptions I have received and allergies I had to insure there is no adverse reactions. He has reminded me on occasion that a doctor has prescribed a prescription that may interfere with other medications. I am grateful for his thoroughness. This pharmacy really is the worst! I have a special medication that I have to take for my health like clockwork. Unfortunately my insurance doesn't let me get a refill until I've used the last pill. I talked to Lisa the pharmacist who obviously doesn't know what she's doing because I called the day before regarding my medication and she said to call Friday morning which was today and just let them know that I want it delivered to me and they will text me with the link. Well that didn't happen till almost 12:00 noon and I was actually freaking out about getting my medication but I couldn't reach anyone as usual. I found out the delivery people actually pick up the medications to deliver in the morning not in the early afternoon like Lisa said. Lisa really doesn't know her job. I remember getting a prescription for antibiotics once and I paid for it there at the pharmacy and then I needed to just get information from Lisa what I needed to watch for regarding the medication and side effects and etc etc. All she did was run from behind the area that she's in...... look at the label and read exactly what it says on the label that I can read and then ran back. Seriously? How is that supposed to help me? She can't seem to do her job right. By the way, if you want to have at least a 1% chance instead of a 0% chance to reach someone just press four and then you have some other options. I wasn't able to stop by the pharmacy I was working so I had to go through my doctor's office to try to get a hold of them so I can get my prescription. I don't like Pouya. As so many people have mentioned. He is rude, hyper, condescending, and I feel some kind of narcissism. I was really getting the sense that since I left a couple of messages on their phone number when you press the number four. Because I didn't get a sense that I was going to get my medications. Once I got it through the text I tried to get it where it was going to be delivered today friday. But it said it couldn't deliver it till May 8th. Really? And I'm out of medications. And I'm not able to go to rite aid right now? And my insurance won't renew the medications until I've used the last bit? How is that serving me? How is that serving my nervous system? How is dealing with Pouya and his egoic unprofessionalism serving my nervous system? Lisa the pharmacist gave me completely wrong information from the beginning because she doesn't know squat and won't admit it. I had to go through my doctors but even they couldn't get a hold of them. I went through another resource to get a hold of somebody and finally the main manager of the whole store actually brought me my medication because I was putting up a big stink because I can't be off of it. What an awful pharmacy! I had to go through hours and hours about 6 hours before I was able to remedy the problem with my medication. Because of how they are. I can't talk to Pouya because he is unprofessional and obnoxious with his way and I'm just afraid I'm going to lose my temper and really tell him what I think of him. I'm getting the hell out and away from this pharmacy. It's a snake pit. I felt so much stress and anxiety that I couldn't even breathe and the left side of my arm started to really hurt. Overall, this Rite-Aid is generally pretty well-stocked and clean and the staff is always courteous and helpful. I think the pharmacy is much more efficient and personable than others I've been to. It's very well-organized and the pharmacists and technicians are always knowledgeable and engaged with the patients. The main pharmacist, Pouya, has been there for as long as I can remember. Many years. Over that time, he's given me vaccine shots and explained medications to me and was kind enough to even help me flip one prescription to the correct version. I've seen him be incredibly gracious with many people, including myself, over those years. This is a good neighborhood Rite-Aid with a staff you can trust. read more

The worst pharmacy experience i've ever had. Waited 20 minutes in line to check if my rx was ready because I couldn't reach the pharmacy by phone - their number either doesn't work or someone picks up and it's just silence. I was told to have a seat and that it'll be ready in 15 minutes - after 45 minutes of waiting I came up to the front again to have them ask, oh why are you here again?? Have a seat we'll check in 10 minutes. I get called up only for them to send me to the drop off zone, and get told I have to wait ANOTHER 20 minutes. I'm literally writing this as i'm STILL in line waiting after being here an hour and a half. read more

My prescription refill experience this morning epitomizes just how completely broken and horrible our healthcare / insurance system is in this country. While attempting to REFILL a prescription that I've had fulfilled by this pharmacy for years now, their automated phone system FAILED TO RECOGNIZE THE PRESCRIPTION NUMBER provided by my healthcare provider and also FAILED TO CONNECT ME WITH A HUMAN BEING to help resolve their problem. This review is for the pharmacy, the store itself has very friendly and helpful staff. That said, the pharmacy is consistently a horrible experience. They do not immediately fill some prescriptions when doctors send them in. The pharmacist has a policy of looking at an id (unless he knows you) before he will fill a prescription. I would understand if it was to pick up but to fill it makes no sense. It also wastes a ton of my time going to the store multiple times for one prescription I get every month. The treatment creates barriers that are not conducive to adequate and equitable health care. Furthermore there have been two times where I've come in and they have been closed outside of posted hours. They also do not answer their phone often. The main pharmacist is beyond rude, chauvinistic, and just unpleasant. read more

The pharmacist here, Pouya F. Is incredibly disrespectful and unprofessional. He refused to fill my prescription that was sent by my healthcare provider, making a big deal about how they are a nurse practitioner rather than an MD (nurse practitioners have legal prescribing authority). He told me that pharmacists have the legal authority to simply refuse to fill a prescription written by my established doctor if he doesn't want to. Incredibly violating. I live near this pharmacy and have used it for years despite him previously being condescending and not concerned with patient privacy, but I am transferring all of my prescriptions to another pharmacy and will not step foot in here again. I had a fantastic pharmacy at Vons on Broadway. But, unfortunately, it closed, and I got transferred to them. They never pick up their phone. I called eight different times on eight different days - nothing. I had to drive to them to know my prescription status. There is a national shortage of medication for which I was seeking refills. Still, I never had issues getting filled in my previous pharmacy, and I always got a text when my refills were ready. Do not expect them to text you; you must ask everything yourself. On two occasions, their staff lied to me that they would receive the medication shipment, and the two times I followed up with them, they never got it. They are also standoffish and always defensive, perhaps because many customers have issues with them. I know they are serving two pharmacies now since Vons got closed, and they always mention that to me when there are issues. That is a poor excuse for the place that serves medication to people whose lives depend on it. Hire more stuff. Figure it out. Overall avoid them and choose any other pharmacy in the area. read more

Disgusting abuse of power. Absolutely the worst Pharmacy. They never pick up the phone. The lead pharmacist is misogynistic and unprofessional. It took them one week to fill a very important prescription. I kept receiving different reasons why it was delayed. When I finally went in personally to find out the status and received more misinformation and voicing my displeasure - the pharmacist said "it was a privilege for me to have my prescription filled by him". He then made me beg for it. It was the most unprofessional behavior I have ever encountered. Go to another pharmacy that treats you like a customer and has EMPATHY. A pharmacist should never hold your need for your medication over your head simply because you complain about their service. read more

The pharmacy manager is consistently rude and contentious with patients including the elderly. This pharmacy is rarely busy but the pharmacy manager tells every vaccine patient that he won't honor their scheduled vaccine appointment time and could be as much as a 4 hour wait. read more

Pharmacy department: Rude, unprofessional, so comically slow, impossible to reach by phone, absolutely do not use this as your pharmacy. I liked the last Rite Aid location that I went to, so I transferred my prescriptions here and had my new doctor sending them in here as well. I now DREAD going in every time or calling them, as I inevitably have to do on a regular basis. I've been hung up on, my meds have been forgotten, prepared on all different days (despite being all sent in by one doctor on one day and taken at the same rate) charged incorrectly or not at all to my insurance, and it always feels like the customers are an absolute nuisance and displeasure. I don't feel comfortable asking questions or clarifying anything, let alone expressing that I'm unhappy with the way I am receiving my meds or with the lack of communication and coordination. I can't wait to see my doctor and transfer to a better pharmacy. The only upside is that this location has a nice large store section attached and it's fairly well stocked. So when you're inevitably waiting an hour for the medication that was sent in 5 days ago by your doctor, you can do some shopping. read more

Wow so much hostility for one poor little Rite Aid. I actually happen to like this Rite Aid, and as the official "yelp duchess" of this store (yes I need to get a life) I feel it's my duty and obligation to up this rating. Maybe it's because I've been coming here for ages that this Rite Aid holds such a near and dear place in my heart. This is seriously my one stop shop pretty much. From make up to paper towels to tampons and a bunch of other randomness my heart desires this rite aid has it all. Yes lines get long, really damn long, and it stinks. Pretty much always. I get frustrated just like everyone else; but hell these folks try their best. I don't use rite aid for my pharmacy, I use CVS and you can see my shitty 1 star review on Yelp for them, so goes to show pharmacies such pretty much everywhere; so that's not only true for the Rite Aid pharmacy that all the reviews reflect. Rite Aid, you got it right on. Your store is right up my alley and you are pretty much my second home, and if I ever do go bankrupt you are the culprit since I spend about 70% of my money in here. I have been going to this Rite Aid pharmacy for at least ten, maybe fifteen years. I can say without hesitation that Pouya and the rest of the staff are by far the kindest, most professional, and knowledgeable pharmacy team I have ever encountered. Recently the closing of multiple pharmacies in the Santa Monica area has caused an influx of new patients to this location. Yet, even when the pharmacy is very busy, the staff communicates with the customers effectively and handles each patient as efficiently as possible but with the appropriate level of care and privacy. I highly recommend this pharmacy and know that I can always rely on Pouya and the rest of the team to help me with all of my medications and other health needs and questions.
