The pharmacy!!! Lines are too long, wait times are unreasonable, and good luck being acknowledged at the drive up window. I've literally sat for 10 minutes before realizing it was closed "due to staffing." No sign was hung. I am always offered, via text, the option to "save time" by paying for my prescription in advance, but there is no express window to pick up -- you're stuck in the mile-long que anyway. Staff are nice, clearly stressed, and Rite Aid needs to do better. read more

Went to get prescription at 4:45 pm, still in line at 7:12 pm. Pharmacy was closed inside. There were 16 cars in line. This is ridiculous! What's going on with Rite Aid????!!! I was so happy Rite Aid was open today! My Mom got discharged from the emergency room late last night and needed a prescription today, on the 4th of July. The pharmacy and store were both open! Thank the good Lord! And a sweet, young, gentleman helped me get my first ice cream cone in 30 some years, too. His name was Valor and he was so helpful and kind. It changed my entire day! Thanks to Tori and the pharmacist in the pharmacy, too, for working on a holiday so my mom could get her very important new medication today. read more

I only gave one star because zero stars was not an option. Every single time I call in to speak to either a sales associate in the pharmacy or the pharmacist themselves. I am on hold for 45 minutes or more and nobody ever picks up I get tired of waiting and I hang up. I have tried calling the main store and telling them my problem and they say I'll transfer you right now and make sure someone picks up and yet I am still on hold for another 15 minutes and then I just give up. I'm changing pharmacies because their pharmacy customer service is the worst. read more

There is a reason for the average 2 star review... the pharmacy staff has a very elitist attitude. I waited in line patiently for 20 minutes to drop off a prescription. I saw pharmacy staff being very difficult. So I do not known the other folks issue... mine was simple ... I asked how long to fill the prescription? They replied 30 minutes. I asked if I ended up not waiting could I pick it up the next day. They said sure... I gave them my number to text me when it was ready... so I went outside and waited... waited in line for another 15 minutes... they could not find my account or prescription... finally they said I said I would pick it up tomorrow... it would be a 45 more minutes wait since it was my fault. I took my prescription and went home... no desire to do business with them again... maybe we had a misunderstanding... for them to say that I made the mistake and nothing they could do to help... really minor except how they treated others is not who I choose to do business with...let's see if corporate cares... read more

This has to the the WORST Rite Aid I have been to. The pharmacy must be run like the absent minded professor who forgot to feed his cat. My wife uses the pharmacy here and she always has to wait for her order to be filled even after a few days of drop off for refill. If you are only here to pick up the odd item then this store is alright but if you need a prescription filled, save yourself the frustration of waiting...do not even think about using the drive up window if your on a quarter tank of petrol. read more

How can it be that I've been a regular customer here since they first opened (even before, when it was Thrifty's), yet with one or two exceptions, the staff, particularly in the pharmacy, treat me as though they have never seen me before? Blank look, fake sort-of smile, flat have a nice day kind of service. This is a small town and there's no excuse for such impersonal service. Better staff training? I needed my prescription filled. It got called in 30 minutes before they closed and they got it filled within 5 minutes so I was able to pick it up that night. This is the standard for this pharmacy from my experiences. I have always had pleasant outstanding service at this pharmacy! read more

Rite aid has lost me, 12 days to fill a prescription is not except able, do yourself a favor and go some where else. It has been difficult to get other refills as well, I guess if you want your refill you have to go in and ask for it. Lately all my prescriptions have been very long to get, I understand that they are busy but this is unexceptable, I spend about $500 a month and I will find another pharmacy that has the time. read more

Rite Aid, Sonora. I have gone to this pharmacy for years. I like their drive-thru, especially with Covid. However this year their service has nose-dived. Their phones are rarely answered and you are rotated through the options again, their Phone Tree is not working. They don't have enough employees in their pharmacy. I asked a pharmacist this question at their store, and he said people quit and are collecting unemployment. Yesterday my prescriptions were not run through to show I have insurance and I was told my dr. was not recognized as a dr.! I could pay full price. I did. The pharmacist was speaking through a mask, a glass window, and had an accent, I barely could hear him and had to ask him to repeat what he said several times. He assured me this would all be handled easily on Monday and I would get a refund, no problem. Today they did answer their phones and now a new harried pharmacist answered and said he would have to look into it and call me back this evening. He said he had been on vacation for two weeks and had many problems to figure out. I am out near $70 for this debacle. read more

I love my local Rite Aid Pharmacy. The personnel are all professional AND friendly. A special 5-star rating for Vickie who took my call today and cleared up my "senior moments" regarding getting my regular prescriptions from another doctor since mine is retiring. She not only gave me great advice, she made me feel better than I felt when I placed the call. Isn't it nice to have a professional like this at my pharmacy? We came out of town to visit my father, and my son has severe combined ADHD. We couldn't refill the prescription before we left because he wasn't out yet, so I brought my prescription that was on his prescription pad paper with us. I was told, that because I always fill it at Walgreens in my hometown, that they wouldn't fill it and that I had to find one (out of Sonora) to go get it filled. Or find another pharmacy who would accommodate me. Biggest load of crap I've ever heard in my healthcare career. The pharmacist said that he wouldn't want me getting "blacklisted because I was hopping pharmacies with a controlled substance". I've been in the medical field for 10 years and I think it's ridiculous that they are allowed to talk to people like that. If I wasn't in healthcare field and didn't know what I was talking about, then I wouldn't have known or thought anything about it. Shame on you guys. read more

The only reason I gave Rite Aid in Sonora one star is because It didn't have any way to give it a negative rating. I have had two run-ins with the Sonora Rite Aid. I've had a prescription account on record with them for 9 years. But I usually use the TMK pharmacy in Tuolumne. The first encounter was trying to get my new medical supplies and machine for diabetes which my doctor sent in electronically to Rite Aid because Tuolumne doesn't do the equipment. I called for 2 weeks nothing happening . I went in person to talk to the pharmacist. Found out they needed one additional release form from the doctor. They said they would fax it over again to the doctor. I also called the doctor to give them the heads up. The back a forth run around with Rite Aid's, " I could care less", attitude went on for a month. I now had another appointment with the doctor 90 days after the prescriptions was written. The doctor wanted to know how I was doing with the meter. I informed them I still didn't have it and of the problem with Rite Aid constantly blaming them for not sending the paper work back. They checked their record and found out Rite Aid was sending to an old fax number and Had not updated their record. So the doctor sent it over again and I still had to wait 3 days to get it. Just a total I don't care altitude. They could have checked to see why it wasn't getting filled. Next I had surgery on Jan 10 at Stanford Hospital. Total hip replacement. I came home from the hospital on Jan 12 with a script prescription from the hospital and my Surgeon for pain which they said I would need immediately after the 3 hour drive home. Went to Rite Aid, because it was open on the week end, with the fully filled out paper work from Stanford that my wife took in while I waited in pain in the car. It might be expected for them to call the hospital, but after they did and if was confirmed, they still continued to go through questions and processing for 2 hours, and i finally got a half order for a one week supply 6 hours later. Again no caring just rude. Now 2 weeks later I needed a refill after making a one week supply last 2 weeks and it was on record that because of the time of month t only one week had been filled because of the insurance. Sol Rite Aid wanted another prescription and was rude about it. No problem we called the doctor and they filled the prescription but said it could take 24 to 48 hours to be filled. My wife calls the pharmacy 24 hours later, gave the name and before she can finish her sentence is rudely informed she has to get a new prescription. She then informs them she had done so and was just checking to see if it was there because it had been 24 hours. I never write complaining reviews but I just want as many people as possible to know what they're getting into with the most impersonal and lack of professionalism of the Sonora Rite Aid. We'll be sticking with Tuolumne Pharmacy and say to everyone, go anywhere but Rite Aid. Even if they're not open on week ends Tuolumne cares and has anything in a few minutes. read more

I have talked to a woman at this Sonora Rite Aid several times who seems to be head of customer service. Very nice, helpful, friendly, funny, etc. So is the problem corporate? Because all of this gets tossed out in their phone system. This morning I twice called the non-pharmacy number, but got the pharmacy auto-answer. When the pharmacy person finally answered, I asked about the numbers confusion. She just said, "I can get you there." I was then switched to another auto-system and sat there for several minutes listening to over-the-top blaring rock music. No one at least briefly broke in and assured me, 'I'll be right with you.' Nothing. Finally, since I do have a few non-Rite Aid things to do in my life today, I gave up and hung up. Was going to come in and make a purchase if they had something in stock I needed. Not now. This Rite Aid Pharmacy is a joke. Almost every time I have a prescription filled, after a day or so when I call to see if it is filled yet, they tell me it is in the "process" of being filled and it will be ready in one hour. I know from experience that it will probably be the next day. I call the next day and hear the same Spiel "ready in one hour". Today this was the exact senario except after two hours I was in town and went into their drive through, the girl at the window told me my prescription was is the "process of being filled". I lost it and told her that i had heard that for the last two days- she said she would call me in an hour when it was ready, and she did. The problem is that since Bertelli's closed there are no good pharmacies left in Sonora. Customer service in this town in general sucks. One star is too much, but I had to give something to post. read more

Patronize the two San Mateo Rite Aid stores - great stores - so, while on vacation in Sonora last week went into the Sonora Store. Bubbly clerk, 40's?, carded me for tomato juice - I'm 71 years old, and tomato juice????? Said they have to card everyone for anything that can be mixed with liquor! When I was growing up friend of mine's Mom used to drink milk with scotch in it. Other people drink prune juice with booze in it. Do they card prune juice and milk. This clerk seemed to get off on carding me - so much so that after we'd completed the transaction, she said, "oh is this yours" about some shaving cream that was with the other items I purchased sitting on the counter. The clerk had to do another tag for that sticking me with her for another few minutes. read more

And it's like this every time I come here. Whether it's inside or outside. It's ridiculous! People, seriously think twice about going here.
