Accessibility: the parking lot is all paved and flat ground. They have a few disabled parking spots near the front entrance (to the left of the building/front doors. There is a ramp or two to get up to the sidewalk, then the doors to enter the building are motion-activated. There is also a drive-thru pharmacy if you cannot, or do not want to, go inside. They have two all-gender restrooms that are big enough for a wheelchair, but not too big...it might be a little tight but is capable. Experience: I honestly think this is the nicest Rite Aid I have ever been in. It is spacious inside, very well-lit, clean, organized, big, and has a great selection of all kinds of things! From the Pharmacy to makeup, wine, beach attire, household items, snacks, refrigerated and frozen foods/drinks, this store has just about everything! Today I bought a nice sunhat with a drawstring just for Summer! I'm so excited about this store in Valley Center. They even give a free, small bottle of hand sanitizer when you check out and buy something! Wow! A+ experience. read more

This place is horrible. The pharmacy is even worse. Don't waist your time! The shelves are empty, the staff is rude. My wife and I both moved our business to CVS. This store wouldn't fill my wife's prescription after they've had it for two weeks they said they stopped doing business with the doctor and aren't giving any of their patients advance notice my wife came in for a controlled substance and all they said was we're not filling prescriptions from that doctor and wouldn't do anything to help me My wife will be in withdrawals in a few hours and in severe pain Rite Aid has no sympathy or empathy they ought to be ashamed. New is always good. This Rite Aid is clean and welcoming. Lots of parking and at an excellent location. It's definitely direct competition to the Pala Gas Station located directly across the street. Good thing they don't sell gas! Prices are reasonable and lines are never long. I'll be back for sure when visiting the Indian Reservations. read more

This morning I stopped in to buy 2 sodas. The clerk rang up the total and then refused to sell them to me; stating, "You have to have a registered phone number with us." For a cash sale at higher than retail prices it is absurd to demand a customer provide personal information. Whats next, voice print identification, retinal eye scans, or perhaps thumb prints? Harvesting personal information for corporate sale and marketing purposes is criminal when it transcends the basic rights of people to eat and quench thirst. Rather than argue I simply left the merchandise on the counter to a shocked and bewildered clerk and walked out. After all; there is a market and gas station diagonally across the street that sell the same products for less and they don't invent reasons not to sell merchandise. Considering Rite Aid's bankruptcies, lawsuits, and endless problems; this is just another nail in their coffin. I HAVE NEVER HAD THE PROBLEMS AND ISSUES WITH A PHARMACIST AND STORE MANAGER LIKE I DID HERE!!!!! I was just released from the hospital yesterday. My husband drove straight to the pharmacy to pick up the medications that had been electronically sent to the pharmacy from Palomar Hospital. My husband comes out and tells me that they will not refill my pain medication because they aren't able to verify the prescription THAT WAS SENT BY PALOMAR HOSPITAL. At this point I'm confused and obviously upset, so I walk in with discharge paperwork, hospital band still on- to see what the problem is. The Pharmacist, Mackenzie,says since cannot reach the doctor (from Palomar hospital) that prescribed the medicine it is against policy to fill my medicine and and she would be unable to transfer it because it is a controlled medication. She basically threw her hands up and was like "sorry, I tried to call". and walked away. When I told her she needed to help me with this she said "actually I don't have to do anything" and walked away. I stood there stunned and continued to complain to my husband about the situation and she COMES BACK around the corner to argue with me. My husband told her "excuse me this is a private conversation I'm having with my wife right now" and she yelled back "if I hear you talking about me don't expect for me to not come back and put my 2 cents in" and they had a few other words exchanged. "We'll, just so you know, I'm not filling it" and then walked away again. My husband was not going to leave until I was able to get my medication, since it was unable to be transferred to another pharmacy. His persistence in solving this problem is the ONLY reason I was able to get my medicine. I tried to talk to the store manager Tiffany, who was obviously not been properly trained in customer service and has no experience in dealing with any type of situations that involve de-escalation situations. She was only interested in continuing the argument- blaming me for "having a doctor that can't answer the phone". I asked for the supervisor above her and she told me to "call 1800 rite aid and figure it out" I will never ever get another prescription filled there again. read more

PHARMACY, What a bunch of Bozo's! Getting your meds is like trying to pull teeth out of a wolverine. They sent it, they didn't sent it, it wasn't picked up, it's sitting here, it's hiding. WHOMEVER IS RUNNING THIS PHARMACY Needs to institute quality control in your Department, as it's broke and it doesn't work. How many phone calls do I have to make to get my meds from these people, who have no clue? I'm frustrated so I wanted all of you to know to use ANY OTHER PHARMACY in the area for meds, (Except the one in the small mall, which is worse), as you may DIE before you get your diabetes meds from these people, who seemed to have other things on their minds. They have OTC items I need but their pharmacy is horrible! When I need a prescription filled they call and say they're out of the item(s) I urgently need. I was using CVS but when I moved here, they're the closest pharmacy, but I'm switching back to CVS where I've never had this problem. read more

Very clean store and the employees are friendly and helpful. They also wear their masks and wipe down the counters in-between customer transactions which I appreciate during these times. Every time I come to this store, the employees are very friendly and make me feel welcome. They go out of their way to assist me when I can't seem to find the item I'm looking for. The manager, Robert, is very knowledgeable about the products in his store and somehow always convinces me to try a new item. Amanda is always a friendly face when I walk in and she really seems to enjoy what she does. Instead of a regular hi and bye, she seems to try and get to know her customers. While visiting my family in Valley Center, this past weekend, I stopped at the new Rite Aid that everyone is talking about. Growing up in the area, it's just fantastic to walk into a bright clean store, with such a warm and friendly staff. We were able to pick up all of our snacks and sunscreen for the weekend and we were fortunate enough to meet the store manager,Robert, at the checkout, who was so happy to run back and pick up the 2 bags of ice we had forgotten. I really wanted to like this place and have been in several times but it's like they tried to find the rudest human beings possible to work in this store. Prices are higher than the local stores and the line for the one open cashier is always at least six people long. The only thing left is to wonder what'll open its place when they go out of business. read more
