We've been to this pharmacy 3 times now. It's the closest location for us to get our toddler his covid vaccine since not every Rite Aid has these shots for toddlers. Anyway, generally there were no hiccups but the wait is always long even though we always made an appointment online. I would say that we would regularly wait around 20-30 minutes before we actually got called in for the shot. Also, the staff isn't rude but they also aren't very polite. If anything they are more on the less polite side if anything. Even though we submit everything online for our appointment, we're always questioned about the same information, such as "Did you make an appointment online?" "Is this the first shot?" etc, etc., I mean, all of this information is given when you make the appointment online, so if they took the time to just look, they wouldn't have to ask these questions in some accusatory manner, like we didn't do something right. Anyway, for that, I'm giving it lower stars. Also, parking in their parking lot can be challenging since many spots are for specific stores so be careful to look carefully when parking. read more

This Rite Aid is my go-to drugstore. It's clean , the staff is friendly and they always have my favorite ice cream options to take home. The ice cream counter is still in operation but they now have limited flavors. Not all the awesome options Thrifty had when I was a kid. However, I can still find my favorite flavors in their ice cream freezer section. I use the pharmacy here and most of the staff is friendly. I encountered a very unhelpful and condescending Pharmacist (female ) that was working there one evening. I returned the following day and thankfully there was a different pharmacist there , his name is Brian who was very helpful and kind. The pharmacy has an automated refill system for maintenance medications. I get a text automatically letting me know when my prescriptions are ready. I can pay on the app and have my meds delivered or I can pick them up. This is a huge convenience for me. The one concern about this location is parking lot safety at night. It is extremely dark. It would be great if the city or the business would install more lighting. It would be more secure when visiting this store in the evening. read more

This store is always clean, the staff are professional, and I always find what I need (whether it be ice cream, candy, beauty items, or cleaning supplies). The THRIFTY ice cream bar is my favorite thing about the entire store bc it's my fav since childhood. (The pre-filled quart tubs do not have the same flavor as when it's served so I hope rite aid always keeps this) Finally, the pharmacy is always a smooth transaction to get my monthly prescription. There has been a national shortage and backfill for the medication I take but that has never been a problem at this location. My medication also doesn't have refills so they receive a new script monthly and they still manage to deliver on time always. read more

Today, I visited the Pharmacy to clarify some pricing issues on my prescription drugs. I have been a customer of this location for nearly 25 years. I am a senior citizen and on a fixed income. The Pharmacist (Brian) was so attentive and took the time to explain how I could save on my monthly prescriptions pricing. Now this was great Customer Service. Very nice, clean and spacious Rite Aid. Bathrooms are locked so you need a store worker to unlock it for you. They have self checkout now which is nice but was a little shotty because I needed assistance twice just to check out. They had a lot of good deals when I went yesterday July 9th. All the summer stuff was 50-60% off. The ice cream area was a little sad as only half the case was full and you can't see the flavors so little kids can't really "see" the flavors. They served the scoop in a small styrofoam cup which ended up melting and dripping over the sides. read more

This Rite Aid has been around for quite awhile....If memory serves right, they had moved from their former location on Greenleaf & Bailey St., where the PIH Bright Medical is now. If you remember that, your as old as I am :( Seriously in my mind the old location on Greenleaf was still faintly new to me. Well it's location is still a prime spot, because it's the only drugstore right in the heart of Uptown Whittier (yes, forever Whittier for me, I grew up here & remember being told stories as a little girl that Richard Nixon went to Whittier College up the street, many moons ago....so proud of this quaint town forever)....Anyhow, lol it is convenient for all living nearby, you can walk to it. Why three stars & not at least four? Because, the supply doesn't always meet the demand. They always run out of items I always need, it's never fully stocked. The service is lacking at times. Not just the whoever is ringing you up, but the fact that they always have one person there, especially in the summer when everyone wants to buy ice cream as well, yet one person & a growing long line is all I remember every time I come there. It's not as busy as the other Rite Aid's, but why does it always have a long line? Prime area, but with that comes the stragglers & undesirables (And panhandlers) from the nearby apartment complexes So if you go at night, you should keep your eyes peeled. Another thing on Friday/Saturday nights beware the parking lot will be completely filled because of the bars & night clubs across the way. One thing I do like is that they occasionally sell High School souvenirs such as T-shirts, sweatshirts & hoodies, scarves to name a few, believe the proceeds go to those nearby schools. (Haven't seen them in awhile, but it's nice to have the option to buy something from your old high school or child's HS). But all in all, it's there & when you can, find items in convenience. See lots of kiddies w/their families getting ice cream (no matter what time of year) and kids from the nearby YMCA basketball games & schools who play soccer, softball, etc, coming in for the goodies....that's always a nice to see. read more

Pharmacy review: ask for Ben. He's a saint. Do not go here if Paul or the Indian lady is there. The Indian lady makes you wait while she's on personal calls. Paul will lie to you. Paul will tell you that your prescription is expired when it's not. I filled my prescription last month because I extended it and provided the pharmacy with the doctors note. Yet Paul insisted it expired a few months ago. He insisted that my doctor call and confirm. After waiting for a week for this pharmacy to confirm with my doctor that the prescription was not expired another pharmacist on the phone slipped and told me the truth, that they made a mistake and weren't stocked for that medication. After waiting for a week for my medication Paul the manager lied and told me that the prescription wasnt valid even though I confirmed with my doctor that it was. It was through next year. Paul didn't understand or didn't listen, I'm not sure. All I know is that He engaged in rhetoric instead of being a pharmaceutical technician and help me. I'm taking my business elsewhere and I recommend you don't put your health at risk without proper medication. read more

I had a shopping cart filled with things that I was shopping for. I come into this Rite Aid all the time I was in the middle of getting medication because I have food poisoning and at that point I felt like throwing up and using the restroom. I kindly ask the pharmacy for the restroom key and they sent me to the front so I went to the front to ask for the key and the lady seen my face that I'm about to throw up and I'm getting sicker by the minute made me get an alliance up at seven people to ask for a key, and then she didn't like what I was standing and told me to move away. She was very rude disrespectful and yelled at me in front of all the people which was very humiliating. I hope that you guys replace some of the staff or at least educate them on a customer service. Getting a key to the bathroom should not require me to start an online especially saying that I'm being very patient waiting on the side. read more

I took my 2 yr old son to get an ice cream and after ignoring me for as long as possible I finally said "excuse me can we get helped" and she made it completely obvious that she was thoroughly annoyed by that lol. But whatever so then I ask her for a cone inside a cup like every other time I've come here or anywhere else for an ice cream with my 2 yr old and she says "I can't it's either one or the other" and I asked "since when because it's never been a problem before" and she says "well it is now so which one?" So I laughed and said I'll pay for the cone or cup whatever and she still said no lol so anyways yall should fire her and hire someone who actually enjoys dealing with customers because she obviously hates dealing with people and doesn'tind being extremely rude. Although I'm sure this is a great place to fill your Xanax prescription, I go to Rite Aid primarily for two things... - First Aid supplies to help me heal from one of my many unexpected disasters (pit bull attacks, drunken business trips to Germany, Mexican funerals, etc) and - Reasonable prices on Samuel Adams, Pilsner Urquell, Dos Equis, Heineken, Stella, etc... I went to this Rite Aid the last week and found that their prices on beer were just as awesome as ever, however, the beer itself wasn't in stock (just the price tags)...None of my beloved Sam Adams Light =(, only crap macrobrews...fortunately I was able to score some Maudite at Vinatero a few steps away.... This Rite Aid is a little hidden in Uptown Whittier; I think that's why I like it. It's not as busy as other Rite Aids, but it still has its following. Whenever I have needed something, I have found it at this location. One thing that I have found about frequenting R.A. is that with their Rewards card, I find myself buying crap that I don't need, but will definitely use. I mean, who needs 128 oz. of Tresamme condoner for $7? Apparently... ME! The people that work here have always been super nice. The pharmacy staff is so unorganized here. They yell out your prescription from the computer they are on to "verify" it. Talk about HIPPA and very unprofessional. I came to refill my prescription and aside from the fact that they don't know what they are doing they can't tell me why I can't get my medication. Such a run around every time I come.
