Finding a really good Jerk spit is hard, but the food from this place was great. Not much to say about service. There was no one who greeted me when I came in. There is a kiosk to order food. Really simple and easy to order. It took about 10 mins for my order ro be ready and that's when I encountered a person. She gave me my food and I asked for a receipt. She gave it to me and that was the service interaction. I did a to-go order of the bone-in jerk chicken with cabbage and rasta pasta. Everything was really good. I enjoyed the flavors of each item. I especially appreciated that the jerk sauce was not super spicy like some other places. read more

Overall, the oxtails were good, they were tender, and had great flavor. The sides however were less than desirable. The rice and peas were slightly undercooked for my liking and were slightly bland, so was the potato salad although the potatoes were cooked perfectly! There was a bit of a wait for my order which was about 20 mins from the time I placed my order. The restaurant had a patio which I enjoyed but I do have to admit there was a bit of an odor in the establishment that was off putting. That being said I would return but strictly for the oxtails al a carte, the website also said there was mac and cheese which I was very excited to try but wasn't available when I arrived. I spent $36 on my meal and I do not believe that it was worth the cost based off my experience. read more

They had the jams playing when you walk in the vibes were right. The man working the front was kind and helpful. The brown stew chicken was flatout amazing. The perfect amount of sweet and spice, very savory. The Rice and peas were fresh and flavorful and complemented the chicken. The cabbage wasn't my favorite but the texture was on point. I prefer mine heavily seasoned. 9/10 overall. Meant to take a picture before I started eating but it was so good I forgot. Lol read more

I am literally sitting at the bar, tried to order a beer and the Bartender ignored me. Terrible customer service & complete disregard for making customers happy. ASU just completely obliterated the team we played and the location that this bar is located in relation to the stadium, It's just bad business. read more

Can't say enough about Rite Yah Suh. I've been coming to Phoenix all year and always look forward to stopping by this restaurant for some rasta pasta! I've actually followed the place a bit from the Highland hub, to the foodtruck, to this location in tempe, and the food never disappointed. I don't remember the gentleman's name who helped me this week but he was real good people. He helped us make sure we were getting the right food and even threw a little extra chicken in my shrimp pasta for me. Also had the early 2000s r&b tunes bumping in the place which kept the spirit alive. Lots of soca music as well. I can't say enough good things besides that maybe they need another location downtown so I can walk to it considering I stay down there frequently. I happened to be in the Tempe area on Saturday night doing some shopping and decided to stop by this place. I had long known about it, but had never had a chance to actually stop by it. I figured it was probably a college student focused joint, and from the initial listing it looked like a food truck, so it took me a while to get over here. Saturday night on campus can be hit or miss and they are literally sitting in the shadow of the stadium so I would imagine that finding parking near the restaurant is a no go during football games. However, it was a pretty chill night so there weren't a lot of cars in the area and we were able to find one of the temporary 30 minute spots just down the street from the restaurant. We did notice on our way into the restaurant that campus security was ticketing several cars that were parked, but evidently parked over the time limit, so I would definitely watch your parking game when you are down here. Now the restaurant had three or four people waiting right when we walked in but for the most part, the restaurant did not appear to be a sit in operation, but primarily focused on takeout. It looks like you can eat in the restaurant if you choose to do so, but I wouldn't expect table service or anything like that. Now typical with West Indian spots, there are always several things that either not on the menu anymore or not available because they've sold out. This place was no different. We immediately inquired about the patties and they were out of patties and also out of a couple of the proteins, so I rephrased my question with "what do you actually have" and then will order from that. From there I found out that they had ox tails available so we decided to go with that. In addition to that I got the macaroni salad and the rice and peas - oh yeah they were also out of plantains. Overall I would say I was pretty satisfied with the meal in terms of portion size and food quality. While I found the ox tails to be on the small side, and not as tender and stewed as I like them, they were definitely flavorful. The macaroni salad and rice and peas were pretty standard fare and not anything that I would say separates this West Indian restaurant from any other in the city. Ultimately I see this as a serviceable option if I am on campus or I attend Arizona State but if I'm not in the area, this is probably not a place I am going to wade into that crazy traffic and parking specifically to eat. That being said, I would strongly encourage students and campus visitors alike to check it out if you're in the mood for Jamaican food. read more

Photo speaks for itself! Broke their foot off!! So good forgot to snap a pic before we tore it up! First time ordering from here and we were skeptical because there isn't much Jamaican restaurants here in valley but man we're so grateful we tried it! Ox tails were tender and juicy, and gave us quite a few that we couldn't finish it. Rasta pasta was very nicely seasoned, you can really taste the ginger! And the rice and peas were so good very flavorful, it had a nice coconut taste! Overall great experience with the food! The person behind the counter was also very friendly and made the pick up quick and easy. Order took roughly about 25mins. We will definitely be back and be regulars :) Edit: Forgot to mentioned that we also ordered a beef patty and it was also really good and well seasoned. We did notice the crust itself was a little tough but I'm sure if we ate it fresh out it would be as be soft as they should be. So just a heads up if you do order beef patties for pick up. This was my first time here and was really excited to try this place me and my family drove an hour to try this place. We ordered our food and sat there for almost an hour while other people that ordered after us got their food and orders to go after 4 other orders we asked what happened to our order asked to see receipt and got our food 10 minutes later like they misplaced our order. Food was good but they need to make sure they are aware of everyone and checking on people. As a store manger I would have never had this happen customer services goes along way. read more

The Best Jamaican food I have had in years. Oxtail with gravy , rice and peas with the plantains to top it off with a Ting drink. The experience was amazing. The dinner was very authentic and flavorfu. cabbage was absolutely delicious, plantains we're cook to perfection nice and crispy like I wanted. One of the best Jamacian food spots in phoenix. This is a takeout only location, but the process is fairly seamless. You can order online and they'll let you know when your order is ready. It will come out of your assigned locker. I haven't had anything. From this place I did not like. Curry goat , curry chicken, oxtails, cabbage, festival, sweet plantains, beef patties. If you're craving Jamaican food, do yourself a favor and run in the opposite direction -- this place couldn't represent the Caribbean if you handed them a map, a cookbook, and a personal chef. The "customer service" was a full-blown circus. The staff was too busy screaming, laughing, and entertaining themselves to acknowledge customers. We waited over an hour while they treated the restaurant like their personal social club. At this point, I'm convinced the only thing they serve consistently is noise. When the food finally arrived, I honestly thought it was a prank. The mac and cheese was refrigerator cold -- not "oops, it cooled down," but "did someone just grab this from the back and toss it in the bag?" cold. Zero seasoning, zero effort, zero Caribbean anything. The stew chicken tasted like it had been marinating in the fridge next to last week's leftovers. Not a hint of freshness or flavor. This place is a masterclass in how to ruin good ingredients, waste customers' time, and disrespect an entire cuisine. I've had better meals at gas stations, and at least they pretend to care. Save your money. Save your taste buds. Save your sanity. read more

If you're looking for phenomenal Jamaican food look no further cause they got it all RITE YAH!!! A GIANT meal of jerk chicken, rice and peas, and delicious mac and cheese cost me around $15 on uber eats- I gotta say the portion size makes this deal INCREDIBLY worth it! I took my daugther here for dinner and when we walked in they have a big kiosk that says place your order here. No one came to the front to help us for 10 mins. Another couple was waiting outside for their order and the inside was empty no workers no people. We placed the order and waited. After 15 mins people finally came to the front. Not sure what the food taste like but the service was not good at all. The music that played was about as positive as I could see. Couldn't even smell food cooking or being heated up. read more

I usually don't even leave reviews to complain but 1hr 30 mins for 2 beef patties and 6 wings is crazy. Won't be back. Maybe placing ahead is the best bet but DO NOT come in here and place the order. I could see how this would get soggy for takeout, so I recommend dining in for fried chicken WINGS. Overall, super weird place but the chicken WINGS are good.

The dining experience was satisfactory. We arrived a few hours before closing and ordered the oxtail meal and jerk chicken meal. Despite numerous open tables, we experienced a delay in seating. The hostess appeared preoccupied with her child, which contributed to the wait. While I support work-life balance, the extended wait for seating, given the availability, was notable. The ambiance of the place was indeed very appealing to the eye. Regarding the meal, the oxtail portion size seemed disproportionate to its price. Additionally, no discount was offered despite the unavailability of fried plantains that was supposed to come with the meal and most other menu items, leaving only the two meals we ordered. This led to an expectation of more generous portions for the available dishes. I received a meal that contained approximately 3-4 very small pieces of oxtail, accompanied by a generous amount of gravy and rice, and a modest portion of potato salad. The rice had an unappealing sandy, grainy texture and tasted stale, suggesting it was not freshly prepared. The potato salad was acceptable but unremarkable. While the oxtail itself had good flavor, the quantity of meat was significantly disproportionate to the side dishes, which was quite disappointing. I tried to mix the rice with the oxtail gravy, but the sandy's taste in the rice just was too strong. The jerk chicken portion was notably small, and the pasta serving was insufficient. Regrettably, I would not revisit or recommend this establishment. I believe the food proportions should be balanced. If a shortage of ingredients occurs earlier in the day, it would be more prudent to close for the remainder of the evening rather than serving undersized portions. While this approach might generate short-term revenue, it risks alienating customers. Conversely, closing early would prevent negative reviews and help retain repeat customers, especially when the restaurant cannot operate at full capacity. This is merely my perspective. read more

Took Princess and her roommate to Rite Yah Suh after move-in, and this was Princess's first time ever trying Jamaican food. Safe to say we made the right choice! Everything was full of flavor, seasoned well, and gave us that authentic Jamaican food experience we were looking for. Definitely one of the best food decisions we made while in Arizona. The service added to the experience. Everyone was welcoming, helpful, and made us feel comfortable from the moment we came in. Especially with someone trying Jamaican food for the first time, it was nice being somewhere with a friendly and inviting atmosphere. Casual, laid-back, and a great spot to grab some good food without all the extra fuss. The location is also super convenient if you're around Tempe or ASU since it's right across from the university. Overall Experience: Rite Yah Suh was a great introduction to Jamaican food for Princess, and all three of us enjoyed ourselves. I had an amazing experience at Rite Yah Suh Jamaican Restaurant! The food came out very quickly and was fresh and piping hot. I ordered the oxtails with peas and rice and a beef patty. The oxtails were incredibly flavorful and very meaty, cooked perfectly and falling off the bone. The beef patty was crispy on the outside and packed with well-seasoned, flavorful beef on the inside. The rice and peas were delicious and full of authentic flavor , it honestly reminded me of the Jamaican food I used to have in New York. On top of the great food, the service was outstanding. The owner, Clifton, was amazing and made sure my wife and I were well taken care of from start to finish. That personal touch really made the experience even better.
