    Papa a la Huancaina

I have eaten here a few times and the food is great but the portion size? $5 for a tiny side of Huancaina sauce is WILD!

It's modern inside and the chicken soup was good. There was no wait staff and I needed to ask for a menu. I hope they can stay in business.

I must have had a brain fart or something because right after I walked in, the worker greeted us and immediately told us they had empanadas. He said they had chicken, beef, and cheese empanadas. I immediately ordered three chicken and three beef. I forgot about the arepas. The guy said it would be ten minutes. So we browsed their store. As soon as you walk in to the business, the small place looked like it is set up to ship packages. It has a small grocery store in the back, and has a kitchen on the side. The whole store was small, but clean. There was no seating in this place as it is not a sit down restaurant. Food orders are placed to go. Almost ten minutes exactly our empanadas came out. We took them to our car and ate there. We wanted to eat them fresh and hot and boy were they steaming hot. I loved the crispness of the shells. The filling was very flavorful and moist. I dipped them in the salsa and they had had a nice kick. They were delicious! We were able to polish off four. After we arrived home some thirty minutes later, the empanadas were still warm and surprisingly still crispy! I ate the last two. I will definitely return to try their arepas!

I found **Mi Corralito Charbroiled Peruvian Chicken in Chandler, Arizona** after reading about it…read morein *City Lifestyle Magazine*, and I'm so glad I drove up the road to try it. My wife, 4-year-old son, and I ordered the **Peruvian ceviche**, **Papa a la Huancaína**, **Lomo Saltado**, and later took home the **Pollo a la Brasa**, their whole Peruvian-style rotisserie chicken. Everything tasted like it came from a true scratch kitchen. The flavors were balanced, authentic, and clearly made with care. The owners were present, friendly, and genuinely welcoming, which made the experience feel personal. The **Lomo Saltado** was easily one of the best dishes I've had in Chandler. The beef was high quality, perfectly marinated in that classic Peruvian-style sauce, and served with hand-cut fries and perfectly cooked rice. Even though this restaurant is known for its roasted chicken, the Lomo Saltado was a standout and highly recommended. The **Peruvian ceviche**, made with Mahi Mahi, was incredibly fresh. We ordered it spicy, which I definitely recommend. The heat paired perfectly with the tart, bright leche de tigre, Peruvian corn, crunchy corn, and sweet potato. It was the perfect dish for Arizona summer weather. The **Papa a la Huancaína** was a great appetizer and served exactly how it should be: cold, creamy, and covered in a flavorful cheese sauce that hit the mark. The food was so good that I regretted not ordering the **Peruvian roasted chicken**, so we got a whole chicken to go. As soon as I got home, I had to try it. The seasoning was deep, rich, and flavorful, and the chicken was tender, juicy, and perfectly cooked. The skin was incredible and melted in your mouth. This is top-tier **Pollo a la Brasa**. The location is small and feels more like a takeout spot, but there are a few tables inside if you want to eat fresh. I recommend enjoying dishes like the ceviche, Lomo Saltado, and Papa a la Huancaína in-house, then taking the roasted chicken home. Prices were very reasonable for authentic Peruvian food made from scratch, and there was plenty of parking right in front. If you're looking for **Peruvian food in Chandler**, **charbroiled chicken**, **Lomo Saltado**, **Peruvian ceviche**, or a great local restaurant near Chandler/Ahwatukee/Gilbert, Mi Corralito is absolutely worth trying. Highly recommend.

The place is small with only a couple of tables, but some comfortable seating for those waiting to pick-up. There was a large family there already with an impressive spread before them and seemed to be enjoying their meal. We ordered chicken, a beef noodle dish, some fried rice, and plantains, and took everything to go. Stefano, the lovely gentleman at the cashier, answered questions and explained to us a little about the Chinese influence on Peruvian food. He recommended next time we try toheceviche, and I was excited to learn Peruvian ceviche has no cucumber (I'm allergic). The food was packed nicely and stayed hot during the ride home. The chicken was perfectly cooked and tasted smoky (my cat stole my skin, but my parents assume me it was crisp and lovely). The noodles were really good, the beef tender, and the fried rice is different than your typical Asian fried rice. It has cinnamon and is really excellent. The plantains, though... Very tasty. I confess that this was what I was looking forward to the most, and I was not disappointed. My mom told a friend about it and she had already tried and agreed they loved it. It's close to church, so will likely be added to the rotation. Highly recommended!

I cannot say enough good things about the experience we had here…read more My husband and I went in for lunch with another couple last weekend for Valentine's Day and had such an amazing time. The food was so good, but even more than that our server Diana was delightful. She was so friendly and helpful in picking out what to order. We started with the super sampler platter, which was a really good idea if you are not super familiar with Venezuelan food (like us). It gives you an idea of how to order your main course (if you still have room!) I think my favorite thing from the meal was chicken patacon that we had on the appetizer platter. I will go back for that for sure ! Everything was so good! My husband had the arepa mechada (shredded beef) and loved it. Their drink menu is really good as well. The passion fruit margarita was so good as was the carajillo Diana was on point and made sure our drinks were always full and that we had a great time. We will be back for sure !

The arepas, empanadas, the corn pancakes, the meat quality, the plantains... all bomb as fuck. Outstanding. The menu isn't doing any cutesy bullshit with dumb names or "please them all" variety. Straight forward and excellent. And if you've never had Venezuelan before, just get the sampler. The interior isn't much, but whatever, you're there to eat. Too many places in PHX offer a decent atmosphere but mid ass food.

They'll also validate parking at the garage. We came for dinner before a show at the Mortgage Matchup Arena (which is just a quick 0.5 mile walk over). Happened to hit happy hour, which was just a few dollar savings, but nice. We tried the following: -Empanada Pabellon with Pernil: loved the plantains inside mixed the pork! -Empanada Colombiana Beef: good -Pollo and mango tostones: the tostones itself were a bit tough to chew on -Ceviche mixto: I've never had fried calamari with ceviche but it was nice and refreshing mixed with it! -Piña Tiradito: presentation was lovely and tasted just as great! I can never taste the fruit or make out the flavors for ciders and I'm a sucker for anything guava so was excited for the Sazon guava hibiscus cider, and while it was nice, sadly couldn't make out the flavors. Overall, cute space with bites to share and we'll be back as the burritos sounded good as well.
