Date night at Tia Rosa's and it was a pretty good experience overall. We decided to try the $1.99 margaritas and honestly they were surprisingly good for the price. I ordered the chili relleno Christmas style with both red and green sauce stuffed with shredded beef, and it was really tasty. We also ordered the stuffed quesadilla, which was filling and flavorful. The only drawback for me was the salsa. It was okay but didn't have much flavor and could definitely use a little more kick. Other than that, the food and drinks made for a fun and affordable date night. I'd still come back, especially for those margaritas. The restaurant could benefit from a much more thorough cleaning: as there was a STRONG sewage odor throughout the dining area. The chairs were peeling and the floors had a layer of dust. Our server was very friendly and apologetic about this, which we appreciated. Unfortunately, the food was disappointing overall. The barbacoa had a strong flavor reminiscent of lighter fluid, and the chips tasted stale. The chimichangas were the best part of the meal. They had a good crispiness to them and were enjoyable. While we appreciated the excellent service, the cleanliness concerns and overall food quality sucked. We probably wouldn't return. read more

The overall look of this place is actually pretty cool. It made us think this was some rich person's house before it became repurposed into a restaurant. It's too bad that the food isn't as good as how to place looks. What I found interesting is that their backyard seemed to be hosting some sort of wrestling event. I couldn't find anything about this event on their website so I guess we aren't supposed to be talking about Fight Club here. My crony got a lunch special and I got a beef quesadilla. I must say that the food itself was forgettable. The complimentary chips and salsa did taste worse than other Mexican restaurants. I finally made a stop to check this place out. I favored the salmon dish most, then the green corn tamale and the Molé enchilada. The queso blanco was a great starter and I enjoyed the chips and guac. Great customer service in a spacious dining room. Plenty of seating for small or large groups. Our first time at Rancho de Tia Rosa, purchased by the Lucas family in 2019. This beautiful hacienda-style restaurant has a beautiful patio and Mexican architecture. They serve Baja-style Mexican food, with fresh ingredients, hearty portions, and dishes like specialty enchiladas, burritos, nachos, and signature margaritas and cocktails. Our server was very friendly and helpful. We ordered off the lunch menu. My wife had a chicken burrito, enchilada style, and I went with the "3 rolled tacos" (Taquitos) and a cheese crisp from the Happy Hour menu. I really wanted to like this place. We almost missed it twice because the sign on the street was not turned on and is covered by bushes. The pictures make it look fun place to eat. We came on a Friday afternoon and were the only ones there. That should have raised a red flag. The green sauce for the chips was sweet and the red had no heat. I ordered the carne asada plate as suggested by the server without any enthusiasm only to get machaca shredded beef not carne asada grilled steak We heard the microwave go off at least twice. She didn't know what vegetables came in the vegetarian burro. My husband's chimichanga tortilla was not crisp, but soggy straight from a the kitchen. The only good thing was the grilled vegetables. The rice was old and beans were not flavorful. The server came by once to see how things were when we were basically done eating. It took her almost 5 minutes to bring a box after being asked for one and still had to return with the bill. It is a shame. With the decor, this place could be nice, but the food quality and slow service is holding this place back. It must be the 99 cent margaritas that keep Ranch de Tia Rosa's doors open. It clearly is not the food based on my experience. Oh it is was warm inside which was nice in a chilly winter day, except for the restroom where the window was open, probably to keep it from smelling. It didn't seem as fresh as it was in the past. As I used to frequent Tia Rosa. The tamale and rolled tacos were both dry. The frijole burrito was alright. However the chips we received weren't even warm which again back to the freshness as I remember they always used to come out hot. An absolute disaster of a restaurant. Came here for my brothers rehearsal dinner and they were already too busy before we got there, and by two busy I mean the bartender on the verge of tears since there was four groups in the entire restaurant. They kept saying "the person who took the reservation doesn't work here anymore" as an excuse for their terrible service when he was standing right there. A lot of peoples food were cold, I had to go over and ask them to come serve us outside since no one checked in us in an hour, and when I ordered pitchers of margaritas at the bar since no one was taking our order at our table, they hand me a tray with cups of ice to go serve my brothers rehearsal dinner. We love Tia's and their margaritas are amazing, especially their blended raspberry dream with a sugar rim. You get pretty big portions as well. My only complaint is that the air never feels turned on in the restaurant, and that outside the mosquito population is insane, unfortunately out of anyone's control though. Otherwise, we love tia's! Just reheated in a microwave, and the restaurant was empty! What they serve is basic fair. Nothing that complicated. My husband ordered carne asada. They served him warmed through shredded beef. Not asada. I ordered a chimichanga. It arrived soggy and mushy. Bathrooms stank like pee. So sad. I don't see this location lasting much longer. If you like Tex mex this is probably a great place. But I had higher hopes. The salsas were overly sweet and lacked little if any spices. I got the carne asada plate as I like to try it at most Mexican restaurants good steak cooked well with basic spices is usually hard to mess up. This was completely unseasoned and cooked to death. The amount of gristle in the cut made a large portion of it unchewable. I should have read the writing when the chips and salsa came out. If you want bland snowbird food this is a great location for you. Otherwise chipotle has better flavor than this spot read more

I would give zero stars if i could. We placed an order at 6:00pm using doordash, order was confirmed and was supposedly starting to make our food. At 6:45 they cancel the order, and are now listed as closed on doordash. If you look at the hours listed everywhere it still says open until 8pm. Today may be a holiday but they accepted the order. We are snowbirds and used to love this place - years ago before the fire. We gave up on it when it re-opened due to poor food and poorer service. Two years ago, we went back when a friend said they had good 99 cent Margs on Monday. They were just okay. I know 99 cents what would you expect, well frankly, I would expect a real marg. Last year we went back and 99 cent margs had gotten worse - they have at best a splash of tequila, and unfortunately the food and the service was still poor. Then this season we really tried to give this place a chance. We have been 5 times with family and friends in the last month. Wow. It has actually gotten worse. Now the happy hour $7 margs have no tequila and taste like the 99 cent margs, the service is insanely poor, even when there is virtually no one in the restaurant, and the food remains the same....poor. I do not know how this place stays open. It cannot make any money and that makes me sad, but I am tired of trying to support it. Tonight was my last time. Try Nandos on Power. Let's start with the reason I chose this restaurant to take my mother to for lunch on her 85th birthday. It's absolutely beautiful inside!! My mom was just in love with it. Truly a wonderful experience for her. Very authentic looking!! The food was so bland for Mexican food. Very disappointing. I can make better Mexican food and I'm German. The prices I thought were pricey. Wouldn't have minded paying that if the food was delicious. My brother snuck in before us and gave the server a cheesecake with candles to bring out when we were finished eating for my mom. We had to wait a while for anyone to even check on us, and they weren't busy, it being 1pm on a Monday. Finally my brother had to wave another server down and ask to bring the cheesecake. After a while our server finally came over to check on us and remembered about the cheesecake. Well he finally brought it, candles lit, and just handed it to my brother and left. So my brother and I sang happy birthday to our mom then sat there...they didn't even bring plates or utensils. Horrible service. Finally we had to flag down another server for our check, because we just wanted to leave and eat her cake at home. We did not leave a good tip. Ok, so the cheese crisp was great! Crispy and cheesy. When we got there there was 1 table with 4 people occupied and us. The manager spent more time discussing with 2 staff members where to put some tables vs. making sure we had napkins plates utensils or water.....we've been there 15 mins by then got our chips and menus. The fish tasted like dirt/mud/ bottom feeling fish taste vs quality fish . The tacos were $6 each and maybe had a teaspoon of fish in the filling. Very disappointing. How do you NOT make fresh salsa? No Hispanic patrons! That should have been my clue. By the time we were leaving all the tables were filled with elderly Caucasians only.
