You'll feel at home sitting in this cafe. Every order is hand crafted with personal attention so please know this in advance. I've popped in twice now and each time my order was ready within 5 minutes so I could enjoy. They've got vegan sweet treats if that's your thing. You can sit at a classroom table in a chair that reminds you of grandmas house

A little disappointed. Came in expecting a cortado to be about 4-5 dollars, menu said 4.69 which isn't terrible. I asked for a cortado with normal milk, 2% or whatever they had. Then the price popped up and said $5.80, it ended up being over 7$ with tip which I think is kind of insane for a double shot with some milk. After some looking at other pictures on Yelp and Google it turns out they charge extra for normal dairy milk and oat milk is no extra charge. I feel like this should've been mentioned to me at the register, the standard for most cafes I've been to is to charge extra for plant based options. I love oat milk in my coffee but not enough to be charged extra so I normally just go for dairy milk. The cortado was ok. I think espresso shot could've been pulled a little better but I'm picky, price aside I would get it again. I just wish the milk pricing thing would be made more clear. I liked the vibe of the place it smelled pretty nice.

I keep coming back here!! Service is definitely great. I like to explore with different latte flavors at times and it always hits. Drinks are definitely great and the place has lots of sitting, they have WiFi and plenty of parking too. Ambiance is just perfect. I could focus on doing my stuff comfortably. They have a construction going on so that can be too loud but overall experience it's still a nice place to hang around

Melissa is a café alchemist. She's always making new and delicious drinks and snacks and is truly becoming a pillar in the community. The vibe is unmatched, the lattes are ridiculously good, everything is super intentional, and she is constantly partnering with and elevating community. She has vegan and non-vegan snacks, something for everyone. Not sure what you want or have flavors/a vibe in mind? She'll make new things on the spot with what she has, pays incredible attention to community and details, and will leave you satisfied every single time. I'm so impressed by Melissa and Ritual Cafe. She even has a Toro Discount for folxs from CSUDH! The coffee is mostly Black-owned and always brewed fresh. Literally cannot say enough, this isn't just a café- it is an experience, and for so many it is becoming a ritualistic home away from home. Go see for yourself!

If I could be here everyday. I would!!! The owner is amazing and carefully crafts the drinks. I have tried almost every flavor. New flavors happen often. I am obsessed!!

My little sister and I made a coffee stop after leaving CSUDH and saw this right around the corner ! soooo close to the school which is great for a caffeine break haha. I got the butter pecan latte ( i always take advantage of a seasonal drink ) It was sweet but strong ! I need to come back and try more of the menu. They have pastries as well that I didn't have a chance to grab but maybe next time. They don't charge extra for non dairy milk which is a HUGE plus as someone who is lactose intolerant!! Ambience was quaint, lots of paintings and plenty of seating with tables if you need to get some homework/work done.

Service was amazing, whenever I asked questions about the menu the barista(s) gave in depth answers and showed patience! I got the House Tea Iced & it was refreshing, sweet and a myriad of great flavors mixed together!

Almost done and i just made it to the car it is so delicious i didn't need to add a thing

Melissa is a gem! My butter pecan latte is simply amazing! All the joy she's bringing into the community is exactly what we need in this day and age! I'll be back no doubt! Ask her suggestions and i promise you will not be disappointed!

I got the soursop drink and a vegan chocolate donut absolutely delicious

Love this place! I randomly drove by and saw the sign and had to check it out. Since I don't support Starbucks it's been hard to grab a coffee locally. I love that the owner makes her own syrup, milk alternatives are free, and she uses black and brown owned coffee brands! I've been raving about ritual, the service, and the delicious latte and fresh juices!

I think the tea flavor could have been stronger, but the texture of the boba was good. I did think it was a bit odd that my iced drink was served in a paper cup while my friend got the usual plastic cup. The croissant was delicious. It had a nice guava filling, but the cream cheese was thinner, more like a condensed milk consistency. Still very good, just different from what I was expecting. My friend got the iced cheese coffee with biscoff, which was pretty strong and tasty. The restroom was not terrible, but could have been cleaner.

Great Demand, But Poor Convenience for Working Customers…read more I've had The Nook's mushroom coffee before. My best friend took me here on a weekend afternoon, and even then there was a line, although it was manageable and mostly stayed inside the shop. Because of that experience, I knew The Nook was popular, but I wasn't prepared for what I encountered on a weekday morning. I wanted to pick up a coffee before work, so I actually planned ahead. Before leaving home, I checked the mobile website expecting that, given the obvious demand, there might be an order-ahead option. Unfortunately, there isn't one. So I gave myself an additional 30 minutes specifically for parking, waiting in line, ordering, and waiting for the drink to be prepared. I figured that should be more than enough for a morning coffee pickup. I arrived around 7:30 AM, and as I walked toward The Nook from the south side of The Enclave, I could already see the line stretching out of the door and into the courtyard. I was honestly shocked. There were easily 15-20 people ahead of me. I decided to give it a fair chance and got in line. After 10 minutes, the line had barely moved. At that point, I walked out. I understand that popular businesses get busy, especially in the morning. But there is a difference between being busy and having a customer wait in a line of 15-20 people with virtually no movement at 7:30 AM, particularly when there is no mobile ordering or order-ahead option. For a coffee shop with this level of demand, I find the lack of an ordering system especially frustrating. If you're going to consistently have lines extending outside the business during the morning rush, there should be some way for customers who are trying to grab a drink on their way to work to order ahead. And that's really my issue: the customer experience doesn't seem designed for people who need coffee efficiently. If you're coming here on a weekend, have nowhere to be, or are willing to dedicate an unpredictable amount of time to waiting, you may have a completely different experience. But if you're trying to get coffee before work, I would strongly recommend accounting for significantly more time than you think you'll need -- or having a backup plan. I no longer work as close to The Nook, and I don't drink coffee after noon, so I don't have much reason to make a special trip. Unless I'm conveniently nearby and see little to no line, I won't be making another attempt anytime soon. The Nook clearly has a loyal following, but popularity shouldn't come at the expense of basic convenience. If the demand is consistently this high, the ordering process needs to catch up with it.

I especially love their matcha selection they offer so many unique flavors to choose from. On my most recent visit, they were unfortunately out of the banana cream matcha even though it was still listed on the menu . They also offer food, which I haven't tried yet, but I've heard great things especially about their waffle dessert that everyone seems to love. Definitely planning to try that next time! I also ended up going about 10 minutes before closing, which I normally try to avoid, but I didn't realize they closed at 9 PM. Ordering was super easy thanks to the self-service kiosk, and my drink was ready in less than two minutes. I ordered the crème brûlée brown sugar boba latte, and the crème brûlée topping was thick, creamy, and absolutely delicious. The brown sugar milk latte itself was definitely on the sweeter side. I think I would've preferred it if it had been made with milk tea instead of just milk, since the tea would've helped balance out the richness and sweetness from both the brown sugar and the crème brûlée. Even so, it was still a tasty drink. The inside of the shop is really cute and very clean. I noticed a few people working on their laptops while I was there, and it seemed like a nice place to hang out for a while. They also don't blast music in the background, so it's easy to have a conversation or get some work done. I'd definitely come back to try some of their other drinks because several of them looked really good.

Parking was easy, and when we walked in, there was only one occupied table. Three employees were chatting in the back. We were greeted, but it felt more like, "What would you like?" than "Welcome in." No smile, no conversation, no thank you--just a transaction. After taking our order, the employee returned to chatting with coworkers. When our order was ready, our name was called, the halo-halo was placed on the counter, and that was the end of the interaction. As for the halo-halo itself, my partner rated it a 2/10. It was overwhelmingly sweet and overpriced for what we received. We were hoping for layers of flavor and nostalgia but got a sugar rush that could probably power a small city. As a business owner myself, I understand that customer service is one of the biggest drivers of customer retention. Great products can bring people in once, but great service brings them back. Unfortunately, this visit missed the mark on both. The good news? These issues are fixable. A little more warmth, engagement, and hospitality would go a long way. Until then, we'll continue our search for our next favorite halo-halo spot.
