I felt like the wall was just too high to surmount as I had been out of shape for so long. Linda not only helped me get back into the rhythm of working out, she brought me to feel joy about my body again. She knows the body so well - during pilates sessions, she would have me move my toe a 1/2 inch or make a slight adjustment that had such a huge impact - she can look at you and know exactly where your out of alignment and what you need to adjust to correct it. She knows how to motivate, how to care, how to shift when you need stretching instead of strengthening - all with grace and strength - a great motivator. Both styles are very easy on the joints and less intense than Vinyasa, so good if you are looking for stretching and/or coming back from injury. I liked the classes as you do positions that other schools tend to not get to (such as extended cobra, threading the shoulders, etc.). I also LOVE the fact that you get blankets to use - makes final Savasana position so comfy and relaxed. Irene is a great instructor with a soothing voice. Parking in the neighborhoods is super easy even on street cleaning days (Wednesday/Thursday) and you have plenty of space to move around in the studio. She's conveniently located just outside of the main PB area and has ample parking in the parking lot. If you're in PB and need a massage, check her out. She won't disappoint!
