Service was great. We were seated a few minutes earlier than our reservation. Drinks came quickly. Appetizers were amazing. Mains were even better. Food was fresh, well seasoned, and everyone was pleased. Great ambience. Highly recommend.

    Fresh cannoli.

Fantastic food and service. Beautiful restaurant. Fresh ingredients, homemade desserts.

Ambiance is great. Food was really great too! Service is 7/10, but still okay tho. Would definitely go back again!

This restaurant was recommended by our Airbnb host and it did not disappoint! It was a spontaneous decision to try the restaurant as we got off the cruise from visiting Heart Island. Due to our last minute decision, we weren't able to make a reservation online so we tried walking in. There weren't any tables available inside but we were able to get seated right away at their outdoors patio near the back of the restaurant. The food took a while to come but we went on a weekend so the kitchen must have been busy during dinner time. Overall a great experience and decent food. Would come again if we visit Gananoque again in the future :)

We had high expectations for this location. The ambiance is lovely. Coat check is a nice touch and close free parking. Window seats were a bit cool to sit beside...server was very friendly. Gluten free noodles were done well. Salads were terrific! The main was a bit cool when it arrived and took some time to be served even though not very crowded. Outdoor patios would be lovely and nice bar area that is more intimate.

The seafood stew was good and the caprice salad was good too. Margarita pizza was ok because the crust was thin but not crunchy and Bucatini Amatricana was a little one the sour side for us.

Pizza was good. The server was not as warm as one would expect for a server in an Italian restaurant.

Jaw drop. This place is NYC/SF league. Brio Chinotto. Spiced green olives, four flavors, in tubs…read more Italian groceries packed into the tiny place. Fresh figs. That's just the weirds stuff that I like... the FOCACCIA -- they're baking it right there! There's only two sandwiches. This is a GOOD THING... meat or veggie. Apart from amazing -- small detail: romaine, crispy, super fresh... the meats and veggie patty: great recipe. This all before mentioning their namesake dish... pasta... six feet away from the baking, a lady pulling noodles out of a pasta machine, which I'll have to experience next time.

Since moving to Toronto, I miss Pasta Genova deeply…read more They have some of the very best focaccia anywhere, which alone is enough to recommend them. But they also have nearly peerless homemade pastas (of which the smoked paprika linguine is my favourite, though they often only make it by request), spectacular prepared sauces, and regular specials on essentials that will get you things like premium olive oil or balsamic vinegar* at supermarket prices. * Genova is one of the few places I've regularly found a variety of pure, aged balsamic vinegar free from sulphites. AWESOME. So, here's some tips: 1) They ONLY TAKE CASH, no exceptions. I once witnessed a woman curse them out for this fact and declare she'd tell all her friends not to shop there; when she left, everyone in the tiny shop, myself included, burst out laughing, and one of the guys declared "we can barely keep up with the customers we have, we don't need her!". Very jovial, and they took her bitch-fest so perfectly in-stride they could give lessons on how to turn the other cheek. 2) If you need a quick lunch, pick up a focaccia sandwich -- they're about $4 if memory serves, with salami, lettuce, tomato, and mustard, and they're fantastic! If you want to suddenly realize you're hungry, walk down Wellington around 11:00am for the wafting glory of baking focaccia and just try to resist the pull. 3) When ordering pasta instead of ordering by weight, order by serving size. Say things like "I'm having a dinner party for six, four big eaters and two regular", and they'll give you an incredibly accurate amount of what you need, plus a little extra (because people WILL want seconds, believe me!). 4) Their homemade calabrese olives are out of this world good. They use a puree of oil-marinated chilis, oregano, fennel (I think), and oil, and very, very good sun cured olives... and damn, these things are so good I eat them until I hurt. 5) Ask what's on special, or if they have any leftovers. I've scored half servings of pasta, day old (but still delicious) focaccia, and nearly expired but still awesome cheese for cheap. Finally, I'll also mention that the staff here are fabulous -- very nice people who greet with a smile, always bid a good day, and work diligently to help provide you with exactly what you need to hit a homerun with whatever it is you're cooking. Only downside: Toronto Maple Leaf fans. Egads!

Half of my family went in to grab our table while my dad and I spent some time searching for parking which probably took roughly 15 minutes. When we got in, there was already water on our table which was nice however after that moment it took 20 minutes for our server to come to our table. I have a lot higher expectations for this place as I have been a couple times and it is a higher end restaurant so I was kinda disappointed. Mind you our reso was at 8pm so we were pretty hungry at this point. The server didn't really say much or apologize for not coming by so it was overall a bit strange. Besides that the food was pretty good, I got the seafood linguine which tasted pretty fresh but I probably wouldn't order it again as there are other things on the menu I like better. My dad ordered the braised lamb shank and my mom and grandma shared the penne pomodoro. Overall the lamb was definitely the best dish out of them all. Not sure if I would come back here, if I was ever visiting Kingston again as there are just so many great restaurants to choose from and I was not satisfied with the service which I think is important especially for a high end place.

Firstly, I do want to give a nod to their cocktails, that were boozy and had interesting combinations. There was also complimentary bread with olive oil. As for the rest of our meal...we ordered the FRITTO MISTO DI MARE to share and it was just OK, I felt the batter could've been better. Our main dishes took almost an hour to come after our appetizer. My friend got the PESTO LINGUINE (pasta was overdone but the pesto was delicious) while I got the BEEF RAGU GNOCCHI WITH ADDED RAPINI (gnocchi was oddly huge and on the denser side, the addition of rapini was barely a few leaves which was disappointing, sauce was salty). Wish I had a better experience here...probably won't go out of my way to dine at Olivea again.

First time would have been ok, but we were seated by the exterior patio door, which was extremely loud and jarring every time it closed, which was every 10 seconds. It was very hard to enjoy our dinner with that banging that echoed throughout the exposed ductwork. Second experience started out fine, we were there for drinks and dessert, asked to be seated outside and they put us at a high top in the corner. We were sitting there about 10 minutes when a teenaged boy very loudly told us they made a mistake and that we had to move....literally everyone around us stopped their conversations and stared. So we moved to where we were instructed to go. THEN we were told to move AGAIN. Come on. We told the boy that he was embarrassingly loud and he immediately got defensive and wanted to go "ask everyone" if he was loud. Unreal. When we left we told the manager that this was inappropriate and she blamed us. We told her about the obnoxious loud door and she said that it's been that way for 8 years Overall, the food and drinks are fine, atmosphere would be great except the noise of the exposed ducts, and the service is despicable.

When seated I was a table on the edge. The space looked accustomed for larger groups and had many large and small parties. The light in the space was a bit low in comparison to the bright sun outside coming through the windows. My server was very attentive and I was quickly able to order. The home made loaf of italian bread came out warm and was light and fluffy. I ordered the Utica Greens and Shrimp Riggies.
