It was my first time visiting Rival Coffee, and upon first glance, I was really excited about the spacious seating and big parking lot. We parked our car right in front, and walked into the coffee shop without seeing a line of customers. We saw the menu and there wasn't a top list of drinks. It was lattes with a list of syrups and dark coffee. They truly have a list of syrups for you to add to your latte. I was a bit caught off guard by that. They also had food, but we didn't look at that menu at all. We ordered a Hannah banana latte and a vanilla hazelnut latte. Both drinks were very milky. There was definitely coffee, because I was very caffeinated half way through my small size. The syrup you choose is definitely an after thought in every sip. Yes. There is spacious seating for anyone who wants to hangout or study. Beware to those coming here to work or study; it's so loud in here, I can't hear the person next to me. They are blasting country and soul music. It caused the groups hanging out to speak very loudly, and I just couldn't do work at all. On a positive note, they have free, strong WiFi. I don't think I'll be back. The coffee wasn't memorable and the space isn't suited for studying. I'd rather go to a quieter space with good brews.

The food and coffee are reasonably priced. Service is quick and friendly. They even have an in-house coffee grinder. Coffee is smooth. They have a good variety of options for breakfast or brunch. Very spacious inside with WiFi access. I saw many patrons using the areas for computer access. They also have outside seating with umbrella shades. I am curious to try something new in the future. They also have a drive-thru.

The employees are always nice. Aside from that, I'm always disappointed with my order. If I order online and come in to pick it up, I will be waiting forever and it's up sitting somewhere, making me late for work and the food cold. The last time I went, I came through the drive-through and I ordered an iced coffee. They gave it to me hot and not even close to being a full cup of coffee. Which sounds like first world problems. But at the price of the drinks and food, you would expect it to at least be correct and what I wanted. My burrito was mostly egg with a few pieces of meat. I've come back several times, as it's very convenient location, but I'm always disappointed.

CHILL COFFEE & STUDY ZONE! I spent two hours chilling on a table at Rival's outdoor patio. They had an amazing playlist and quiet atmosphere. I was able to read a manuscript while I was there without interruption. Rival's patio is shaded and has plenty of seating. I ordered a cold brew with a splash of oat milk to taste test the brew, I can confirm it was amazing coffee! I definitely want to dedicate more time coming to Rival, it's worth the buzz! I stepped inside and the coffee shop had a cool aesthetic with large coffee bags lining the shop and great use of natural lighting. The barista at the counter was decent, he was a little somber. However, the service was super FAST and efficient. I was so happy I got my coffee in less than 5 mins! I also want to visit for poetry night, my Mom and I haven't been able to make it but I drove by one night and it was hoping! Lots of folks came by for an evening of caffeinated joy and spoken word.

I think I walked into a coffee lover's heaven . This place has that fresh ground coffee smell but next level aroma . Stopped by while visiting my sister and it was worth the drive . The coffee was a build your own coffee with a lot to choose from I settled on a cookie butter cold brew . The cashier was super helpful since it was my first time and my drink came out fast . It was 7.00 for a 16oz which is pretty good for a cold brew with cold foam and specialty flavor . The coffee was well balanced and not too sweet . Give this place a try you won't regret it . The coffee was delicious! The staff was kind and we talked their roasting process. The atmosphere was clean and large. Many seats and tables so that you don't feel like you're sitting on top of someone else. Love that they have free stickers for people that get a coffee! My only hesitation is the music is all different kinds. So if you watch what your kids listen to, think about what may be played.

The first few times I came here, the service and food were terrible and made me stop coming for a while. But recently came back in with my mom and there were definitely some improvements. An employee stopped mid task to help us out and he was extremely kind and helpful. I also really liked how our drinks and food came out at the same time. Shoutout to whoever was on aux because their music taste is impeccable! Overall, a really nice experience this time around. I hope that they can keep this up and not lose current and future customers.

Rival Coffee is located right beside Holiday Inn Express behind the Murrieta Mesa High School Ram Stadium. Rival has great coffee and tea options. Service was helpful and friendly. The place is huge!! Upon walking in, you'll notice that there are a lot of students on their laptops studying. Several outlets to plug your devices in. You will also notice sacks of coffee beans: Odyssey Pacamara from El Salvador Tracon from Ethiopia La Cumbre from Costa Rica Arabica Green Coffee from Honduras Service is fast and friendly. Drinks are delicious. Once you taste the coffee, you'll notice that they use high quality coffee beans!! Some of them will give you the caffeine kick you'll need to pull an all-nighter to study for that final!! Great place for coffee/tea. Check em out if you're in the area!!

RIVAL NEVER LEAVES ME WITH REGRETS. I always go back and forth if I will use mobile order via the app or drive thru, but I always find myself in drive thru lol. Service is always quick and the servers are super nice. They always have a smile and you always leave with a smile. I never have been inside. Every item I have ordered was always fresh. Even though I get the half sizes, they do not skip on the portions. One day, I will make it inside to order but having kiddos the drive-thru makes everything easier for mom life.

Delicious donuts and coffee! Friendly service at the cashiers and the lemon blueberry donut was to die for. I loved the open texture of the donuts, which makes them very light and airy. Coffee,according to my friend, was excellent. Very casual coffee house seating. There's a drive thru as well.

From the friendly and quick customer service to the yummy "sips and eats," this place won me and my husband over right away. The space is incredible too. Lots of indoor seating with a modern, industrial vibe. Hubs got the rival breakfast sandwich. They didn't skimp on the bacon -- the way to his heart! I ordered the brioche avo toast and added a fried egg. Fresh, tasty ingredients and just the right amount of food. We shared a cinnamon roll too. I'm not a big icing person but I could eat spoonfuls of this stuff. Light and not too sweet. We'll definitely be back! read more

I love all things breakfast but I'm never usually up until most places stop serving it. Glad I found this little place that serves THE BESTTT breakfast sandwich I've ever had!! Loved how the yolk isn't cooked thoroughly so it gives it a little more flavor when it pops. Don't get me started on the tomato sauce they added on to it. Surprisingly it beats plain old ketchup. Had to get one of their specialty iced lattes on the side which was pretty okay. Love how they have a drive thru. Very convenient during this time read more

I was just there 5 min ago, ordered a iced chai latte and then headed back to work from my lunch break. My drink tastes like whoever made it had a heavy hand. It literally taste more like chemicals than chai. This was my first time there and I am so disgusted. It's so sad because the hype about this place seemed like everything would be good. Very great local Christian coffee shop with drinks that don't disappoint. I got the matcha latte and my friend got the creme brulee latte and we both loved our drinks. We also tried the donuts and they were super tasty. Will definitely come back again! read more

Ok, tried again cause a friend wanted to try it out. Sadly, soooo disappointed. In the early months of opening, I could at least count on friendly customer service. Not the case the last two visits. The coffee is awful, like it's been over roasted and then burnt. The music is terribly loud and inappropriate for a mid day coffee experience. And, almost $8 for soggy avocado bread (not even toast). Ughhhh That will definitely be my last try. read more

Everyone who works at Rival is great. My favorites Eli and Sophia. The black coffee is OK, but the vanilla latte is amazing. The fries, The Rival, and The Anaheim are the best food items period. Great atmosphere, and I would definitely recommend this place!!! read more

Amazing atmosphere and FANTASTIC food! The staff was pleasant and welcoming! It was my first time going and wanted to check it out since it was mentioned in a FB group. I can honestly say that you won't be disappointed, and if you have questions about anything on the menu, the wait staff will answer them! I'm just impressed that it's not only a coffee shop but it also has a full bar! Who would've thought?!?! I came for the coffee but will definitely come back to drink some of those "later in the day" adult beverages and sample more of their delicious foods on the menu! read more

I was having a really hard day last week and went to Rival for a pick me up. I never remember my favorite drink, I call it the Sophie special. I think Sophia stirs it with her sweet finger. She always makes it so good. I love going here. The employees are always so nice. Gordon has a welcoming smile and goes out of his way to say hello, Sophia stops what she's doing and makes sure I get my favorite drink. The chefs put extra lOVE into their Baller BLT, the new guy Christian is really trying. Thankfully, they have a super RAD manager, Eli, who really cares about his team mates. Next time I'm there, I hope he "hard throws" one of those stuffed donuts at me!! I kinda feel left out after reading the last review. This place is great for work lunches when you and your team are stuck in a conference room and need to order in, just door dash. You won't be disappointed. Also, for vegan options, try any salad and ask them to hold the meat. I recommend the pecan, strawberry spinach salad. The dressing is delicious!!! Don't forget to sign up for rewards. You'll get free coffee with your saved points. Lastly, super fast wifi if you need to get some work done and want to get out of the office! I love the Rival gang. What can I say... it was an overall great experience! The location is a little removed (not bad), but we'll worth it. You walk in and are greeted with a medium sized, open space. The staff and environment were extremely inviting. The only problem, I'd say, was that my wife wouldn't let me order more food! She didn't want my stomache to hurt, and I appreciate her, but I would've hurt for this place! Haha, in all seriousness, the food was delicious and filling, but didn't leave you feeling weighed down. The ingredients all seemed very fresh. My wife ordered the avocado toast and I ordered their breakfast sandwich and cinnamon roll. We will definitely be back for sure! read more

I want to change my rating to more stars but I was extremely annoyed by their drive thru service. I appreciate warm and welcoming workers but when I pulled up to the window to get our drinks I saw someone set all 4 of them right in front of the window but the cashier was no where to be found. We sat there for 3-4 mins (yes we timed it) watching our drinks. It's super frustrating because not only is the point of the drive thru suppose to be a quicker option, once the guy came up to the window he was so confused and was trying to read each of the labels to me and wasn't able to figure them out. They need to have a designated drive thru cashier on weekends and or busier times. I really like the product but service is just so dang lackadaisical! I really hope management has a talk with them and they can get it together because I am dying to share this place with people but don't like recommending places that are lacking in service. read more

We're at Rival every weekend, sometimes twice in a weekend. The food is delish, the coffee gets the job done, but more than anything, the staff and the vibe are great. We're that kind of annoying but hopefully very nice family with twin toddlers who try to run around like wild animals, and the staff and people are very good to us. It's a big, open space. Lots of room to study, catch up with a friend, or let your kids lose their minds. read more

Nice selection of food. Has coffee roasting equipment on site but no coffee products for sale. The breakfast burrito was good. Staff was attentive to the dining area. Tables were not being cleared or cleaned and the trash can was overflowing. read more

I love this coffee shop and the vibes. The drinks are always good and the food is good, just pricey in my opinion. I had a breakfast plate and thought I got a side of bacon but was charged for it. So I don't order food much. My last visit was disappointing. I thought the owner was there, but the girl that took my order just wasn't friendly and seemed annoyed. I didn't ask any questions and it was an easy order, so that was off putting. My main complaint was the cleanliness. There was food on the floor in many spots and just dirty tables. Everywhere I looked, I just saw a dirty environment. This was at like 12pm on Sunday and there were only two other people in the place. read more

Absolutely my favorite stop for amazing drinks and the most yummy food! They are always updating the menu with new delicious treats. They have vegan options that don't disappoint! The owners really go above and beyond to make you feel at home. And we're always greeted with friendly and helpful staff that ready to answer any questions that you might have. I've heard so many great things about their food so I was excited to try it, but I was pretty disappointed. I got the baked oatmeal bar, and was excited because the description said it had blueberries, bananas, and nuts on top. I opened the box to find this... It was really dry and the sauce didn't do much to help it. If I wasn't hungry I probably wouldn't eat it. On the other hand, I got a Crème Brûlée cold brew which was pretty good. read more

We used to love this place. The food is delicious (particularly the vegan hash and breakfast pasta), but unfortunately the place keeps getting worse and worse. When we started going here in May, it was just a coffee shop with food. Then they added Sips and Eats which was a sit down/full service concept. Food got even better but they seemed to have different chefs for breakfast and lunch. Then they nixed the full service part and you order at the counter, get a number, they deliver it to you on real plates with real silverware (no signs directing you, so we didn't know we had to order at the counter after they changed from the full service concept/this was frustrating). Until about 2 weeks ago, they were still delivering the food to the table. Today we went at about 12:55 and we learned that they stopped serving breakfast at 1pm. The people in front of us took longer than 5 minutes to order so we missed breakfast (seriously you can't make a little girl a pancake 5 minutes after you stop serving breakfast?). We ordered food, went to our table and waited for them to call our names. When we picked up our food, it was all in take home containers and plastic utensils. Super disappointed. The excuse may be that it's due to COVID, but then why were none of the staff wearing masks when the indoor mask mandate was put in place 2 days prior? Anyways, I've gone on too long but we're super bummed that one of our favorite places has changed so much that we will most likely not be returning. It's also super expensive. Last time my husband got the vegan hash and an iced tea and it ended up being $27. For one person. For counter service. read more

It was these 6 for $11.50 + tax = $11.96 total. Not a bad deal. Good value, and donuts were all good - the dough texture and flavor were perfect. Would recommend.

I did think it was strange that at noon they still had their displays completely full. I'm used to going to popular donut shops having to fight crowds that are trying to clear out the store. My husband's theory is they aren't that good? My theory is they are in a bad location with a bad parking situation. Who knows, maybe they keep baking fresh donuts throughout the day? Rival has really gone downhill & it shows. After closing their Rival2 location, the original location seems to hire only rude attitude teenagers that really don't know a whole lot about good coffee or customer service. They simply lack the experience & if I'm paying $8 for a latte, I expect it to taste stellar & to be treated like my patronage is valued. Nothing of what I have ordered for years is available all of the sudden. They don't allow you to customize sandwiches anymore, no chocolate cold crème & the girls taking your order treat you like they are better than their customers. Today, I had snotty Emma actually cut me off & chime into me ordering breakfast on the speaker! She proceeded to tell me that they no longer customize & that everything has changed in their kitchen. As a paying customer, I don't care about you cutting corners & being unable to give customers what they want, but I do care when I am talked down to by a teenager. I won't ever come back here again. The drink I always order too, had bitter espresso in it... just like the girls attitudes at rival. I miss the old crew who cared. If you feel like being treated poorly & drinking a half asked coffee... give Rival your hard earned money. read more

Took my kids after school to grab lunch and I must say the experience was horrible. I had been numerous times before but hadn't tried some of the food so I didn't know what to expect but it was completely inedible. First I ordered the chicken strips with fries with the sauce on the side for my children and they were COMPLETELY BURNED. Not even edible. You could see on the color alone that it was burnt and they still boxed it like this. Then I ordered the BLT sandwich for myself and opted for the extra avocado smash on it which you could see was brown and hanging out the sandwich. Now I get avocado turns colors- I get it, but when its sour and has a smell to it, its time to throw it away not stick it on a sandwich. I went through the drive through so clearly I was not aware of the horrible food ill I got home but paying $28 for this was not what I expected. This coffee shop is hands-down, amazing. The second you walk in you're greeted with an amazing vibe with their music and the big TV playing on your immediate right as you walk in the door. The employees are all amazing and they make me feel right at home consistently. For me, their honey cinnamon latte (with oat milk of course) and their avocado toast is my go-to; their avocado toast is legendary in my book :).. I recently visited Rival Coffee in Murrieta and had an outstanding experience! I ordered the Electric Lemonade, which was simply phenomenal. It was refreshing and had the perfect balance of flavors. My wife went for the Maple Brown Espresso Shaken, and she absolutely loved it. It's light but delivers a wonderful coffee taste. We both decided to try the sausage breakfast burrito, and it has quickly become our favorite. The burrito was delicious and packed with flavor. Rival Coffee totally impressed me! The coffee is seriously great--bold, smooth, and perfectly brewed. I also tried the breakfast burrito and it was absolutely delicious--fresh ingredients and super satisfying. They offer a first responder discount, which is such a thoughtful touch. Tons of parking available (huge bonus), and the place was spotless. The staff were sooo friendly and welcoming--it really made the whole experience feel warm and personal. Definitely coming back. This is my favorite coffee shop! After having a not so great experience at a different coffee shop, I still needed to get some studying done and decided to stop here and I'm so happy I did. The food is great and most drinks are! It depends on what you like but I've tried a few different things here and I've liked all of them but some beverages (like the lavender vanilla latte) are better than others. It's a bit pricey like the press but it goes towards keeping this place amazing! read more

I originally came with my girlfriend for a specialty donut which was amazing! I got the churro donut and a shaken cold brew. The cold brew was PERFECT. I've ditched my Starbucks runs and now come to rival for all my husband & I's coffees. The ambiance is very trendy and I love that they have a patio and drive through! The breakfast burrito with bacon was very fuego Adding avocado and green salsa will make your morning even better. I also have loved the iced crème brûlée latte and iced cookie butter latte. They place great music , and overall it's a great place to get work done or just meet a friend. I liked how there was still a strong coffee flavor, and the sesame added a nice touch. The coffee was not overpowered by the sesame. However, I found it to be a little overly sweet. The next time, I'd definitely ask for it to be less sweet if at all possible. I'd make sure to mix the cup around because the sesame had settled to the bottom. read more

My husband and I LOVE Rival!! The inside of their locations are always so clean and organized. My favorite food is the Anaheim Breakfast sandwich, and their donuts are delightful. Customer service was great; smiles and acknowledgment while waiting . Vibe inside is nice , big area to socialize and do work. Maybe a little loud with music, but overall feels welcoming . Great coffee, breakfast burritos are insane with the salsa. Very fast at making your orders. Solid coffee shop. It's a place I hit up on the way out of down if I'm heading that direction. Not a good place for me to conduct business as the music is very loud. read more
