Used to love this place, but so sad that the last few months here, things have changed for the worst. Prices have gotten much higher (I understand, food, employment, everything has gone up) but for a latte and breakfast burrito costing $21, that's just crazy! Cleanliness has gone down hill as the place is not as clean as it used to be. The outside patio was filthy with dried stains of drinks and dirty tables. Pressure wash out there please. Lots of different staff coming and going so the food and drinks are not always tasting the same from previously ordered. I'm so bummed because we loved this place too. I'm really surprised this place isn't closer to a five star rating. My family and I discovered this place last week and we've been here 3 separate times so far and have had consistent great service! We've been through both inside the store and drive thru and they have always been great. I love the vibe of the place inside. It's so much different than other coffee shops I've been to. Their coffee is literally so amazing! It's heavier on the coffee taste and lighter on the syrups (complete opposite of big corp coffee places) which I LOVE about them. Their fries are seriously so delicious and their donuts are amazing as well!!! I'm glad to be done with other coffee shops, I'll be coming here with my family every time we need a pick me up. read more

This cafe is one of the very view social cafes we desperately need in our cities. A wonderful place for people to come sit down, chill, meet people, work on projects, and eat great food along with the fantastic coffee choices. Their tea selection just as good. Honestly I will not be coming back. Our server was not nice but the tall male working on 9/10/2023 was very welcoming. What I do not like is how unsustainable this place is. Why are we eating out of togo cups and containers at a sit down place instead of plates and mugs. The ambiance screams gentrification with a Nipsey Hussle quote on the wall . The Spiced chai is alright but better buzz is better in every aspect. read more

First of all, the coffee is mediocre at best. Went here based on recommendations of good breakfast. The pastry I had was good but it's kind of hard to mess up a chocolate croissant. Second, the guy just took his sweet time packaging the pastries. Third, if you don't want to wear a mask then that's your choice and it's fine. But don't stare at me (a nurse in scrubs) and make me feel awkward for the 15 minutes I was stuck in there watching my food being packaged up. I was the only one in a mask at an indoor place that had about 30 or so ppl in it. It's my choice to wear a mask so why should I be stared at? Never coming back here. I tried Rival Coffee for the 2nd time this past weekend. Their coffee is quite good and overall I had a positive experience but it would be remiss if I didn't write about the bagel/cream cheese I purchased. First off, it is by far the most expensive bagel I've purchased locally. For what I paid, I could have easily bought a bag of bagels and a tub of cream cheese at the grocery store. Secondly, I ordered jalapeño cream cheese, which the menu reads as house made. Now let me preface by saying, I've been in the foodservice industry for almost 15 years and lead a culinary agenda. The "jalapeños" were 100% not jalapeños but rather green bell peppers. I suggest whoever makes the next batch be educated on the difference between the two. read more

Soooo disappointed!!!!! I came here 3-4 months ago and thought I found my favorite breakfast place. The food and service was amazing. It was hands down the best breakfast place so fresh light and presentation was amazing. Just came today and it's no longer a sit down type restaurant and I was hoping the food was going to be the same but nope!! The taste was completely different and lacked in presentation. So disappointed I raved about this place to my family and brought them today only for it to be nothing to what I had before. The food wasn't horrible but definitely didn't compare to how it was. Honestly disappointed after today's visit. The menu is even smaller than before. No more kids breakfast. The burrito my husband ordered was still just as delicious as before. No more bringing food out to your table. Everything was in to go. My peppermint white mocha didn't even have peppermint in it. My son's chocolate milk with no ice had ice in it. After they called out burrito was ready I had to ask about the danish and cinnamon roll which they had forgot to pull from the case and warm up. $40 after adding a tip I thought we'd get better service for 3 drinks, 1 burrito, and 2 bakery items. I would of given this place 5 stars but the fact that they do not tell their customers to put their masks on when there is a sign on their door makes me feel uncomfortable. I understand that we want everyone to feel comfortable but people should be respecting the health of the workers in this establishment. Their coffee and food are delicious! I don't live local but love shopping small especially small chain coffee! Rival did NOT disappoint. Cute and photo ready for lots of selfies. The inside was not busy. I let the barista know it was my 1st time dropping by. She welcomed me and showed me the menu. I came at 1 pm between lunch and dinner. So I got a breakfast sandwich because BREAKFAST IS SERVED ALL DAY! They are known to have an amazing breakfast sandwich...and believe me it did not disappoint. The oat milk latte was good too. Some grounds on the bottom of the latte but good foam and espresso pull. They have a bar so it feels like a nightclub/coffee shop.*This is across a street from a high school and holiday express. We ordered our meal & drinks at 9:45, the drinks were quick, but we waited 40 minutes for food. When I inquired of the food delay (kindly) they said it'll be another minute and offered a free drink coupon, a brief explanation & apology would have been valued as well. The food came 10 minutes after and the order was missing a side; we went up to the drink counter and waited 5 minutes and were not even acknowledged. We decided the matter wasn't worth waiting for and we were over the "experience." Mind you we got there when it wasn't "busy." Food was good, but all in all a let down. read more

Food was decent, banana coffee was different. Nice decorations/atmosphere but very relaxed on masks. The majority of people did not have any masks, coughing etc and the employees were cool with it. Love that this spot has a variety of good drinks and everything I've ordered as been good, BUT I don't love the choice of music/entertainment played on the large screens. I want to bring my kids here with me, but run the risk of them seeing/hearing something inappropriate. Visited here on Sunday and unfortunately was disappointed with service and atmosphere. I ordered a Chi Tea latte with low-fat milk and it came made with oat milk and I was charged $1 more for the oat milk. Why the girl decided to give me oat milk I really don't know (I don't care for oat milk so I wouldn't order it with oat milk). The music/video was very loud and it was playing on the four screen TVs. Much to my surprise I look up at the screen and it has two girls in g-strings twerking to the music...really! I drove across town to try it out and I should have saved my gas/time. Maybe the owner needs to rethink the time of day to what station they set it to. There were families with young children present as well. Not planning on visiting again real soon. read more
