When we insisted that both a temporary brace and header were essential, his bid increased by about 50%. Grant also told us that the only window manufacturer he used could NOT make a window with the coating we desired. He refused to even call and ask them, so we did, finding they were more than happy to meet our request, at no additional cost. We were relieved to have someone else do the install. BEWARE.

Remembered Glassman to the Rescue when I was doing windows research in the past. They had tons of 5 star Yelp reviews, which is why they were at the top of my contact list. Texted Nancy (the "glass girl" and wife of the Glassman) and she responded very quickly. Carlos the Glassman was able to stop by the same day (within the hour!) and taught me about how to keep the older windows lubricated. He sprayed on some magic stuff and wow, they were like brand new! He could have easily replaced parts and suggested new valances to make more money but he was honest with me and said that new valances would have issues in the future too. I've already been waiting quite a while for this, which makes the no-call/no-show twice even more frustrating. At this point, I've had to follow up myself just to get answers, which shouldn't be the customer's responsibility. I've requested a confirmed reschedule date, but the lack of urgency on their end is concerning. I would prefer not to escalate this issue to the contractor , but I absolutely will if this continues to be a problem. Honestly, if installation is too much to handle, they could at least deliver the door to my front porch. The bare minimum would be communication and accountability--both of which are clearly lacking here. Would not recommend based on this experience.

RCW is a certified Milgard dealer. Starting with the receptionist in their sales office, Geoff the sales guy, David and his brother who demo'd and installed the new windows...all were very professional and very helpful along the way. I seeked out 3 companies to bid my project. River City Windows and one other were the only ones to respond. River City's bid was the lowest quote for a model window one up from a competitor. It was a now brainer for me to decide who to go with. Once on the job, David and his team ensured everything was tarped off to capture all the debri, very methodical in their demo and installation process, and ensured everything was cleaned up to my satisfaction. A phrase David told me "we treat your property as if it was our own". Love this! Had to wait about a week for the stucco guy to come out and restucco around the windows.
