Instead of typically searching Yelp or Google, I asked Gemini AI who was the best in the area to replace my glass based off of the style home we own and it recommend me Dick's Rancho Glass and Blomberg. After reading the stellar reviews, I decided to reach out to both companies even though it was very close to 5 PM (closing hours). My first instinct was to call Blomberg since they were the original makers of this glass sliding door but Blomberg was closed so I called Dick's. Thankfully, Jay answered - he knew exactly what type of door I had and graciously got me an appointment for Wednesday afternoon which was only 2 days after the incident. All I had to do was measure the sides and he said they could replace it the same day. I couldn't believe it, I thought I'd have to live with this broken glass for much longer. He was kind enough to suggest setting a drop cloth to collect the glass incase it fell to the ground and caused a big mess so I did that the same evening.On Wednesday, Nathan (Nate) gave me a courtesy call before showing up on time and was very friendly and professional. He was ready to install the glass and realized that the border didn't match my current colors which was more of a dark brown instead of the chrome one they had in stock. I really appreciated the disclaimer because even though it was as a minor detail, it would have definitely been noticeable especially since the other side didn't match. They didn't know what color mine was because it was somewhat of an urgent request so everything was done over the phone. Nate said it would take about 1-2 weeks to get a custom order and they could come out and install it same-day. I opted to wait and he gave me the ETA as soon as got back in his van. I was worried about my glass falling and Nate offered to break it down for me and clean it up. I got to watch the whole process and it was very fascinating. Thank you for cleaning that up for me Nate!Nate called me this morning and arrived with a very nice gentleman by the name of Ivan. They arrived at 9:25 AM and were done the job by 10 AM. They cleaned all the nasty gunk and dirt that built up over the many years of the sliding door collecting and and were both so nice and fun to chat with. I can't tell you how much this stressed me out but I couldn't have asked for a faster and more professional glass replacement experience. Definitely, a two thumbs up for Nate, Ivan and Jay for the all-star job!If you need your glass replaced, I would highly recommend these guys. In front of my neighbors house was their truck! I asked Nate if he would come and measure for a mirror over my fireplace. He came right over. He was so helpful and so nice! The price was $2,253.77. I was very disappointed in the quality of the work and the performance of the employees. The phone representative stated the whole door had to be replaced because they were pre-hung. The installer was sent to measure the door. At that appointment I emphasized to the installer that I wanted to inspect the door frame after he had removed the door. When he returned with the new door I reminded him I wanted to inspect the frame after he removed the door. I was home and he knocked on the door to ask if he could use an electrical outlet. The next time he knocked on the door was after he had installed the new door and frame. He stated that he "decided not" to show me the underlying wood, that he "had looked at it". I called the company. The boss sent the installer back out to remove the door so I could inspect the frame and there was dry rot, so the installer had to replace that also. Another phone representative called me a week later stating that I owed $1,540.70. I had paid $730.00, and $810.67 and still owed $713.10. I wrote a letter to the boss and sent it with a check for $713.10. The phone representative called me again 5 days later and said I still owed $730.00. I spoke to the boss, who claimed not to have seen the letter. After some discussion, the boss said he just wanted me to be happy. The attached photos are of the dry rot that remained after the door was installed. It was exposed when he removed the new door so I could see the frame. It has now been replaced. I am disappointed that the BBB does not publish negative reviews, and will not rely on BBB again.

The following week two other guys came out spent 10 minutes discussing how to remove the door to fix it, after calling their boss or owner of the company they stated we can't fix it, you will have to replace the whole sliding door with a new one for $3,500 dollars. I told the manager I would not be paying for a new door when it doesn't needs to be replaced. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!! I called Neighborhood Glass they came out fixed the door within 30 minutes for $339. They were very professional and stated you do not need a new door, we'll just lift the door out of the frame and replace it back. I will always refer Neighborhood Glass to all my friends and neighbors if they need any windows or patio doors fixed.

We have made several attempts to work with their office to get glass pros to fix but they barely return emails and phone calls. I would not recommend buying a home from them unless you want to be paying another vendor to come fix it. Be very careful of thinking of buying the new homes they are building in folsom. I may have to resort to legal action as a lawyer if this isn't resolved immediately. Wish I had went with another builder for my new home.
