The food however was honestly meh (in my opinion). I got a creole dish and to be fair my dish looked beautiful. The plating was 10/10 but the taste for me left something to be desired. After eating this dish I questioned if I even like creole sauce because it really just wasn't that good. If this is a preference issue, I honestly don't know. I also thought the charcuterie appetizer had a weird mix of items on it from club crackers, to meat and cheese, and random veggies. Not bad but just kind of a weird mix. My husband ordered the salmon and he said it was good, not the best he's had but it was good. Other friends of ours got the white fish among the many other dishes. I did have a salad with these apples on it which was incredibly yummy. I will say though my dish looked amazing some of the other dishes were not plated well. Not to nitpick but to want to be considered a more upscale restaurant which means charging guest more money than say a local Applebee's then knowing how to appropriately garnish or drizzle sauce to elevate at plate is important (see my picture of the chicken dish). All and all not my favorite restaurant but definitely not the worst!!

It's like if Cousin Eddie opened a place on the inside. I am not hating. I am just saying. Hell, I kind of dig it if I am being honest. It's like a flea market blew up in there in a way. I hope I am painting a good picture for you. I am not going to be a complete asshole and talk too bad about the unfortunate dental situation with the server we had both times, but it's less than ideal to say the least. It has to be painful. Poor thing. I do realize it's Old Towne Olive Branch and you only have places like SSB, OBPC, AIP, and a Sonic to really choose from. Taco truck used to be great, but it's not the same now that it's in the Gin. So it's almost a food desert, C had told the place sucked when she tried it with her Mom when it first opened. I kept telling her that it was getting 5 star reviews over and over. So I convinced her to give it another try. My first, her second, visit was actually promising and I had some pretty high hopes of finding a local place to come grab a meal without driving to Collierville or Memphis. We started with the Eggroll/Wings combo. Forget the name now, but it was funny. The wings were pretty damn good. Fried well. Spicy buffalo was all too common, but good nonetheless. The Eggrolls were ok. Basic Reliance brand type stuff. We both had smoked meats on that visit. I had the ribs, and C had the smoked chicken. My ribs were fantastic! Chicken was good too. Beans were not for me, too sweet and thick. Corn Nugz were fried hard and perfect. I am a sucker for corn nuggets man. Slaw was out of a bucket. Baked potato was hard, cold, and old. Meats were either the star of the show here, or I was extremely high already. I don't remember. They did have Killer Hogs white sauce, even though it had expired unopened. Ugh. My second visit was terrible. Everything sucked. My food, C's food, all disgusting. I am pretty sure that what they are serving is NOT catfish. The Hushpuppies were cold and hard and the corn nuggets were underdone and sucked too. The cheesesteak thing was bad too. Just clumped up nasty. Server said the turnip greens were "great", but they were not. No seasoning to speak of, no meat or fat of any kind, just kind "soulless" if you will. We could not leave fast enough. Then our server disappeared like forever. We went to the front and stood at the registers for close to 10 minutes before another server comes and lets us pay for the food we did not eat. Two stars for the smoked meats. Won't be back though. Have fun in OB. Pack a sack lunch. '25 99/111

Local Bar with Massive Rib-eyes…read more Mcadoo's is an experience, and one you should explore if you are in the Blytheville area. I have, over the years, wanted to go and check the place out, but a combination of not being able to find it and not having enough time has always kept me from a visit. During my last visit to Blytheville, a business colleague and I decided to check this infamous establishment out and have a business dinner, beers, and rib-eyes. Mcadoo's is located in central Blytheville, across from the fire station, and it is in a simple metal shack, which can make it hard to find. There are no signs on the building, just the name written on the entrance door. Inside, you find a fully functioning bar with pool tables and plenty of tables to sit at. Mcadoo's has an old-school vibe as the inside is lit up by old-school red lights. Like bars of old, you can smoke inside; keep this in mind if you are a non-smoker or have allergies to smoke. Mcadoo's has a fully stocked bar, but it's mostly known for its rib-eye steaks. Our server came to our table and informed us that they had no apps and that our only options were rib-eye with salad, baked potato, and toast, or rib-eye with toast, as nothing else was available on the menu. The rib-eyes took about twenty minutes to arrive, and they were massive and cooked to perfection. The salad and the baked potato were fresh and okay, but the focus was on the steak. The steaks were juicy and tender, and they were also very affordable. The allure of Mcadoo's is the experience, the full bar and the affordable rib-eyes. It is also a favourite place for locals to hang out. Overall, a good experience and a great rib-eye dinner.

A friend and I recently ate lunch here together. It's a great soul food restaurant, located in the…read moretype of neighborhood that I'm only comfortable frequenting during the daylight hours. On this day of the week (Wednesday), the restaurant featured their fried chicken. A local resident had strongly and repeatedly recommended Mae's food. My friend and I both ordered the fried chicken. I'm sure glad that I did! It was perfectly breaded, seasoned, and cooked. We were given our choice of cut, and we both chose chicken breasts. It was nicely-sized and fresh. I would definitely recommend it, and I would order it again. For side items, the collard greens, sweet potatoes, and blackeye(d) peas were all delicious and properly prepared. I ate every last bit, especially since the portion sizes were a bit too small. I would suppose that tiny portions dramatically reduce food waste. The square of cornbread was quite welcomed. I had also heard that Mae's cooks up some delicious pork chops (on Thursdays) and meatloaf (some Fridays). I look forward to trying those as well. The building doesn't have central air conditioning, but rather a series of window units. During the height of summer, it can get uncomfortably hot inside the restaurant, so they do a lot of take out business. If you want to eat inside, be sure to pick a cool/cloudy day. Also, the parking situation is a bit chaotic, with no designated spaces marked out. It's kind of a free-for-all. The safest bet is to backup into an open spot, just for better visibility when you leave. I made the mistake of parking head-in. It took me forever to back out. The street that runs in front of the restaurant is full of fast and careless drivers. Be sure to take some cash with you, because this place doesn't accept any credit or debit cards.

Livingston's Soda Fountain & Grill delivered with a nice side of nostalgia. We started with an appetizer of Cheese Sticks. We then followed that up with some burgers. I got the Livingston's Burger, which was delicious, while my brother got the Ole Tyme Burger. And as if the burgers weren't enough, these burgers were served with a mountain of delicious fresh-cut fries. But the best part of our meal was at the end, when we were convinced to get two milkshakes, one for each of us. And I'm glad we did, as these were the most delicious milkshakes we had in quite a while, and I was sipping on mine all the way back to our hotel. In short, if you find yourselves traveling through Brownsville and have the time for a proper meal, I strongly recommend you take the detour away from the Interstate to stop at Livingston's Soda Fountain & Grill, and don't forget dessert, because it is the best part here. And if we find ourselves traveling through Brownsville around lunch or dinner time again, we will definitely come back to Livingston's Soda Fountain & Grill again.
