River City Revival House is located in the basement of the same business that houses The Starlite Room. In addition to a great selection of drinks, there is a small food menu with music-inspired names from bands or songs. We had the "Risky Brisket" which was smoked brisket piled high in a bun with lettuce, tomato, crispy fried onions, BBQ mustard sauce, and horseradish sauce. The brisket was juicy and delicious. On the side we shared an order of "Fries Against" - a large portion of house-cut, skin-on fries with a garlic aioli. Service was helpful and friendly, and prices are reasonable. There is also live entertainment and jams on some evenings. A really fun spot. read more

Came to see my friend's band play on a Friday night, and had no idea what to expect. Turns out they have a great food menu, in addition to beers and various drinks. The menu is hilarious riffs on rock and roll names. I ordered a bottle of Cerveza Sol and a Creedence Cubano Revival. The sandwich was amazing. Pulled pork with ham, Swiss, pickles, mustard BBQ sauce, and garlic aioli on sourdough. The music was good, but unfortunately, the rave upstairs kind of drowned out some of it. There were legions of raving, furry-dressed youngsters filing in and out. We started off with 80s/90s music videos on the multiple TV screens, but they switched over to the playoff game when it started. Service was super friendly, attentive, and nice. Had a great time. Our family went here for Edmonton Dining Week before the Coronvirus shut it down. Minors can be here until 8 PM I think. Really liked the vibe inside, hipster cool without being hipster cool. It impressed my 16 year old who is really hard to impress. Loved the punny menu. They also have a fun die that you role to determine what shot you get. I rolled and got a Tupac which was Gin with Lime and Soda. To eat we decided to do a few things. We started with the The Tragically Dip (Vegan) - Medley of three house-made mouth-watering dips, beet hummus, black bean and corn salsa, and pico de gallo. Served with a bed of homemade tortilla chips, and veggies. I went with the The Smokey Robinson Club - Savoury smoked chicken breast served on 'Vienna Bakery' sourdough bread with a roasted garlic aioli, bacon, lettuce, and tomato. My husband went with the Creedence Cubano Revival - Cubano sandwich served on 'Vienna Bakery' sourdough bread with black forest ham, smoked pulled pork, swiss cheese, pickles, mustard bbq, and roasted garlic aioli. My kiddo went with the Taking Care of Brisket Sandwich Smoked brisket finished in a Sea Change braise and topped with ancho barbeque sauce, sauteed mushrooms, caramelized onions, and Swiss cheese. All of them were delicious but I think I liked the Cubano the best. Fries were decent, but I think next time I will order soup. Actually the trio dip was my favourite. The beet hummus was so delicious. Service was decent but considering the was us and one other person in the restaurant, it could have been better. I would be nervous to be here when it is busy I will definitely give it another shot. read more

Came here with some friends on a Sunday, we just wanted to get some dinner and drinks and catch up. The themed menu filled with puns on rock n' roll names was hilarious, and the service was prompt and friendly. All was going well until.... it turned out that Sundays are open mic music nights, and the volume is not just 11, it was about 15 (where 10 would be too loud to talk over). The music wasn't necessarily bad, it was just a ridiculous volume - even the server said the volume was really really loud on these nights. Honestly I'm amazed the bar staff don't have hearing loss, having to listen to it all night - or maybe they do. Food and drinks were fine, not amazing just quite acceptable for a bar like this. But I'm never going to return because I want to be able to at least communicate with my dinner companions, and this was well past normal shouting-at-each-other bar volume. And, seeing us all talking to each other and ordering food, I do think the wait staff should have warned us that the incoming volume apocalypse was about to overlap our meal and make any kind of socializing impossible. Sorry, I go out with friends to spend time with friends, not to stare silently at random people playing variable quality music at a painful volume. Come here to have drinks and listen to strangers playing music, but definitely do not come here for a meal or to talk to anybody you're with, at least not on a Sunday night. read more

We had excellent meals here last week. The menu is fun. The items are all spoofy Rock and Roll themed names. Try the 3 dips. Fantastic. Beet hummus, babaganoush and tomato. It comes with carrots, celery and big corn chips. Lovely service. The beers on tap were to my liking. The Coors light tapneas out of order, so hubs had to order a bottle. It's not real cheap, but we could live with that. The concert venue is just up the stairs. Very convenient. I wish they'd close the inside double doors. It gets very cold. The bathrooms are well maintained. read more

This was a little hard to find on Google maps - let's just way we got our exercise walking around the block. The sign outside is a bit subtle. But we were glad we found it! The server was friendly, and let us try a couple of beers before we ordered. I had the Cuban sandwich - delicious. My brother had an unreasonable number of chicken wings, but I did help him with a few. They were really good too. The menu is very punny and clever, which I liked. But also, I'm a dad. Overall a fun pub with nice service and good food! If I'm back in Edmonton, I'll go to River City again. read more

We went to river city revival house on a Monday for trivia and had a blast. The food was absolutely insane - we had poutine with thanksgiving stuffing and bacon gravy (omg), suicide wings (awesome) and 3 cheese grilled cheese (so good). They also had a variety of cocktails including 5 or so kombucha cocktails in big mason jars. We noticed there was a sign for $3 brunch mimosas and $4 brunch on the weekends so we will definitely be back to try that. The food was 100% five stars. read more

First of all, the dish names were all hilarious! I wanted to try all the dishes, just because of thier names! I went during downtown dining week, so I tried those items. The deep fried green tomatoes were amazing and reminded me of New Orleans. The risotto with ribs were really filling and had amazing flavour. The ribs were fall off the bone, super meaty and paired amazing with the risotto! My friend had the smoke on the Lager brisket which she thought was mediocre. She said it was lacking in flavour and some parts being a bit dry. The potatoes it was paired with were also raw. Lastly for dessert, I had the strawberry and Rhubarb Parfait, which I would say was the most disappointing dish. The Parfait used cream cheese, but the mixture was not mixed smooth enough. While eating, there would be chunks of cream cheese which made the parfait not only feel too creamy and heavy but also create a very unpleasant texture in your mouth. Overall, some dishes were better than others, but I would go back to try some more! read more

This is a great spot! The food was delicious and they had some good happy hour drink specials (until 7). The nachos were some of the best we've ever had and I loved the Kombucha cocktails. Service was great, and we appreciated that the music was a nice volume so a group of us could chat easily. We had a lot of fun playing darts too! read more

Checked out this restaurant for the first time as part of a group of 5 ladies celebrating Edmonton Dining Week. First, the menu. Their interesting & eclectic menu for EDW had us hooked enough that we chose this restaurant out of the 49 that were participating. We loved our appies: curried cauliflower soup & fried green tomatoes. And our dinner: risotto with spareribs. And our desserts: cream puffs, berry cobbler & parfaits. The servings of all 3 courses were very generous! This hole-in-the-wall type restaurant has a cool vibe inside & outside (LOVE the brick building). But I would be remiss if I didn't mention how odd it was that at 6:00 pm on a Friday night, at the very beginning of the weekend, they had already completely run out of one of 3 of their main courses they were offering for EDW. And this, on Day 1 of this 10 day event. But other than that oddity, we give this place a big thumb's up! Cool place to grab a drink below The Starlight Room. Don't know if I would make a special trip to come here but it was super convenient and the menu was superior to your typical bar food. We had the nachos and they were outstanding. Home made pita chips made for extra crunchy nachos without overwhelming grease. And good cheese to chip ratio which is always important. They have a few dart boards set up and there was a DJ on Saturday night. We had a bad experience with one of the bartenders which is why I didn't give this place a five star. read more

Wow! What incredible food! There was 8 of us and we all were so impressed with the food. This place is a hidden gem in downtown. They deserve to be much busier!! Not just for people who work downtown either- everyone would enjoy this place, brunch lunch or dinner. If you do work downtown, I highly recommend coming for lunch. It was not at all busy and the food is delicious! Highly recommend! And the food names on the menu were very entertaining! Great service too. Our server was super friendly and helpful. read more
