Had an awesome experience here for Mother's Day! I brought my mom and fiancée, and the food was absolutely delicious. The waitress was incredibly friendly and provided great service the entire time. My mom and I both ordered the House Burger, and it was fantastic. My fiancée got the boneless wings and loved them as well. The fries were fresh, hot, and seriously some of the best we've had. I went on a Sunday around 3:15pm and it was not busy at all so I got to chat with my lovely waitress Grace about the place! Got the Reuben and it was super good. $2.50 to upgrade to fries which I think is not a deal so I went with the chips. They were crispy and tasty. The sandwich itself was fine, if you like meat you'll love it- they do 2 layers of corned beef! I would have done half the meat and added more sauerkraut but that's just me. I also ordered a mocktail and loved the flavor but was disappointed that they charged me for a cocktail when it didn't include any alcohol- $9.00 for a fruity soda... the ambiance is great and the decor is rock n roll and fun. Went into the place wasn't busy it was very clean BUT.... The food was horrible. We had a steak sandwich which was covered in tomato paste no flavor. I took two bites and told the waitress it wasn't any good she didn't seem to care. The other was a Reuben sandwich and chips. It was horrible. Also two bites and that's it. Took it home to the dog. Once again... found on Aadvantage Dining, cross-referenced with YELP! and here we go.,.. We went on a rainy Thursday evening for an early dinner. River Rock was on a corner, and a little difficult to find. There were a few people, but not too packed so it was nice. It's primarily a sports bar with a dining area from what I saw, which made it fun and casual. It seemed like a great place for after-work drinks! The walls are covered in old concert posters, which was really cool! After reading reviews it came down to the ribs and the reuben... and the ribs won! And it was a FANTASTIC choice! Tender flavorful meat that slid right off the bone, and came with a sweet and tangy bbq sauce... but not too sweet (which I don't like). The fries that come with have got to be a full potatoe... they are double fried, seasoned and delicious... like fries were meant to be. I also had the grilled cheese (I'd been craving one, okay?). It was large! On homemade Texas Toast! Dripping in Cheese! Perfect buttered bread! Grilled to pefection! This is the Grilled Cheese that every bowl of Tomato Soup dreams about! And at $4.95 the price was perfect too! the kid next to me had one (which is really why I NEEDED my own)... and I've never seen a kid enjoy a grilled cheese that way before! Excellent service at very affordable prices. We stopped here by chance after the other place we were going to stop at changed owners and our gift card was no longer good. So glad that we stopped by. The service was quick the food was delicious and very affordable. The day we stopped (Sunday) was $1.75 cheeseburger 1/4 lb and $1 fry day. Drafts were only $1 too. The nachos were large and flavorful. We are coming back for sure. They have a smaller inside seating area but also have outdoor seating. The walls are decorated with the bands from the past and tour dates. Makes for a nice conversation. The men's bathroom had little privacy for anyone wanting to use the sit down stall. read more

This is my go to breakfast spot in Bay City. Breakfast is served seven days a week starting at 7am. Decent beer selection, they have about 15-20 beers on tap and they're licensed to serve that at 7am too. I live in Bay City, but if you're traveling I would highly recommend. They're located about 3 miles from i75 and us10. I always get the southern stack up, which is a mess of biscuits and gravy, eggs, and potatoes. The portion is definitely big enough for two. They have a good lunch and dinner menu too. Sandwiches are huge, French fries are really good, and you can't go wrong with their $1 burgers on Sundays! Service is excellent, the ladies always remember my order. I've been there with toddlers and younger kids a few times and the waitresses usually bring them a candy/toy after the meal, it's really sweet. read more

They tried - it was really slow and the waitress was like she had a hangover. Not impressed - but the food was fair and cheap. The atmosphere was retro awesome. It would be good for a group - again if the staff was a little lively. They had some good specials and they have a couple televisions. Little ticked when the waitress walked up inthemiddle if a basketball game and changed the channel - she didn't even ask and their were 10 people In the place. Really love the look and feel to this place! Bar and restaurant friendly, the walls are plastered with band and celebrities which is so exciting to look around and pick out your favorite ones. We went on a Sunday. It rib special 6.95 half 10.95 full. It comes with fries or baked potato. Coleslaw or salad, these came in Styrofoam bowls. Well the ribs were very tender. My daughter just slid them out of the meat. Sauce was very tasty. I totally enjoyed the meal. The reason for only 4 stars. My wife and son had the wet burrito. Both were not impressed and wont have it again. My wife did finsh my ribs and would get these next time. As mentioned in previous reviews. The place is noisy. NFL football playing on all the TVs. A little hidden place in Downtown Bay City, it has a decor of a 50's diner (or dive). Rather loud, but that may have just been us going late on a Saturday Night. The menu is a basic Bar & Grill, but they have taken the time to make some of the descriptions fun and funny. We started the night with an order of Onion Rings, good taste, served fast, not greasy. Good Food We've only stopped there for a light dinner but their wet burritos are the best and HUGE! (One can serve two folks our you can take home the leftovers for the next day.) On Mondays (I think it's Monday but better call to be sure) they have a second one for half price feature. We love their beef burritos. Cheap and really good! Atmosphere isn't great and once we got a burrito which wasn't totally hot all the way through.... if not for that, they'd get a 5 from us. But I can imagine that at night, with a large crowd it would be intolerably noisy. It's definitely our favorite spot for wet burritos. read more

It was freezing inside of the place, and when I got my food it was very cold, like it had been sitting around , and burnt. Also, couldn't track down a waitress to have it taken back. I can only speak on my breakfast experience, but it was good. I had left a relatively poor review prior to this about their dinner, and someone (who I believe to be the owner) sent me a message via Yelp! to check out breakfast. The fare was quite good, prices were great (cheaper than other breakfast spots in the area), and menu was simple and everything a breakfast menu should be. Decent breakfast at a decent price. Bloody Mary a touch weak, but they offer them regardless. Downside? Breakfast only offered Thurs - Sun. Who could ask for anything more for breakfast? I'll be back. read more

The atmosphere was good, the food was fast food caliber, and the service was less than impressive. I ordered the "River Rock Classic" burger with fries. The burger is advertised to be made with high quality sirloin, but fell short on flavor and was undercooked. I had to ask the server for my fries after my burger was brought out, because he "couldn't remember if I'd ordered fries". The server is a bartender who also waits tables and was none too friendly. My husband and I decided to try it because my husband is a HUGE fan of ribs. I had a coupon for buy one dinner, get one free (a 10.00 limit). I had a corned beef Rueben special and my husband had, of course, half rack of ribs. My sandwich was on special, and wasn't eligible for the coupon. But after some clarity from my British waitress, we cleared it all up. Anyway, my Rueben had a great flavor, but could of had more corned beef because it was GREAT! And getting back to the ribs, the sauce was terrific, sweet but some tang to it! We have been there before just for drinks, so we took advantage of the summer time weather and sat outside. The noise level in the bar influenced us to go outside. The entrance provided a nice atmosphere and cover in case of rain. While visiting dear friends who live in Bay City, they took me to River Rock because it is their favorite place to eat. It was a Thursday, and the special was steak sandwiches for $5.25. It was delicious. They serve it on buttered Napalitano bread - a local favorite. The sandwich was the size of a platter and came with a simple tomato dipping sauce and an abundant portion of yummy seasoned fries. I especially liked the atmosphere of the restaurant. It felt like we had been transported to another town in another state. I will definitely be back. read more
