The traditional omelet was the star of the visit, specifically the jalapeño wrapped in bacon that comes with it. It was exceptional and the kind of detail that shows real kitchen creativity. We were charged an additional $1.50 for each add-on, yet my salad arrived with zero goat cheese, only four tiny slices of red beets, and five tiny slices of gold beets. Cubby's has always been notoriously stingy with the beets, which is exactly why I paid extra for additional toppings. Instead, I ended up with even less than the standard portion. In the end, I paid $18 for what was essentially a bowl of spring mix with two slices of avocado, three orange segments, no goat cheese, and nine paper-thin slices of beets. That's unacceptable. To make matters worse, we tried calling to speak with a manager, but the phones were turned off at 8:15 p.m., even though the restaurant advertises that it's open until 9:00 p.m. This was the last straw with Cubby's. The night shift clearly needs better training and quality control. Charging customers for extras and then not including them is not okay.
