Sugar Donut & Vanilla Cream?
Dexter D.

Somehow, when I made our hotel reservations, I failed to notice that they did not offer a free breakfast. When we checked in, we noticed the breakfast area, but when we went down in the morning, we discovered that the menu was very limited. We went back up to our room and packed and checked out and headed toward our morning destination. I found River Vine on Yelp and because it was mostly on the way to where we were going, I headed there. The River Vine is the restaurant for the Vintner's Resort. From the parking lot, the signage to the restaurant was a bit confusing but we managed to find an open door and from there, it was a straight shot to the dining room. We appeared to be the first guests. I checked with our server to make sure that we could get service in the short amount of time that we had. He assured me that he would get the kitchen right on our order. Since she had had leftovers in our room from the night before, all she ordered were some mini sugar donuts and a latte. She ate one donut and was thoroughly satisfied. I needed something a bit more substantial, so I ordered Huevos Rancheros. Their presentation was a little different from what I'm used to. Everything was stacked. Tortillas, beans, eggs, salsa, shredded cheese. Pop the entire plate under a salamander, remove and top with sour cream, avocado slices and cilantro. It was hot and delicious! With it, I had a decent cup of coffee. I would have liked to stay and have a couple more, but we were in a rush and the place we were going to didn't have easily accessible restrooms. We're thinking that the next time we need to spend the night in Santa Rosa, we just might consider staying at the Vintner's Resort. It looked calming and peaceful.

Quesadilla

Food was so-so: it filled the belly but was uninspiring. My pulled pork quesadilla didn't have much flavor, as both the cheese and pork were bland. Salsa, sour cream, and guacamole were included, but the portions were insufficient to smear around the entire quesadilla. My S.O ordered the Huevos Rancheros, which were relatively tasty, but perhaps on the smaller side, and again, the amount of salsa was a bit modest. The place feels like it's primarily there for guests of the inn to grab a bite before going wine tasting; and that's probably all I'd recommend it for. If you're intent on coming to the Vintners Inn for a bite, stick with the John Ash restaurant (for dinner); it's a much better (albeit more pricey) choice.

Despite being just a short drive from home, arriving at Vinter's Resort felt like stepping into vacation mode. Nestled among stunning redwood trees and gardens, this property exudes charm and intimacy. I was very impressed. I came for the bottomless brunch at River Vine which they have available on Saturdays and Sundays. It's $49 for bottomless drinks and an entree selection. I'm a sucker for a good bottomless brunch. If you choose this option, you choose from a limited entree menu with decent selections. The food was delicious. We ordered the steak and eggs and the pacific eggs benedict. The server initially brought out the wrong entree (the corned beef benedict, pictured), however, they handled the situation gracefully. They apologized and let us keep the meal, free of charge. The mimosas were generously flowing. They also have a variety of flavors aside from the standard orange juice, including strawberry and peach, which I appreciated. Overall, I enjoyed my experience and I will keep coming back.

We did a girls' weekend in California at the end of October and wanted a brunch place that met the vibe check on winery day. I came across their reviews, and we did a quick change to check them out instead of our original choices. I'm so glad we did. There is an inn/hotel and spa on the grounds, and there is a beautiful serene esthetic to everything. Take a picture by the beautiful fountain if you go.(My friends are in that photo, so I left it out.) Their landscaping is top tier, so make sure you have time to roam the grounds. Our waitress was very friendly and had great suggestions. We tried the mini donuts, and they were very good. Though the Apple jack flavor in the sauce was verrrry muted. I loved the huevos rancheros, though I wish I'd just ordered the sauce on them not on the side. Another patron said the sauce was spicy, but what I got was not. All in all I would 100% visit this restaurant again if I found myself in wine country.

Smoked Salmon Benedict, bacon, corned beef and hash with eggs.

My bff and I started our girls day with breakfast here. We were warmly greeted and chose a seat outside. We began with mimosas, I chose peach and she chose strawberry. The mimosas were so fresh and crisp, the flavors weren't too sweet, they were just right. For our meals I ordered the Smoked Salmon Eggs Benedict and she had their special which was corned beef and hash with eggs. I believe our server's name was Vicki, that's what was listed on the receipt, but she was spectacular. My friend is a mom of three under three, so this was special for her to enjoy this time and our server made sure we had the best experience. My breakfast was delish, the hollandaise sauce was flavored with Myer lemon which paired perfectly with the smoked salmon. The Cajun potatoes were cooked with the perfect crisp. My friend loved her dish, the meat was tender and full of flavor. I can't wait to visit our friends again and plan another day here. I highly recommend you dine here for the best brunch experience.

Wow wow wow! This place is absolutely breathtaking! We went for breakfast and all I can say is everything was DELICIOUS! The food was cooked to perfection and it came out fairly quickly. My honey and I had the grapefruit and peach mimosas! The staff was very friendly and the view was absolutely beautiful. I recommend this place to anyone who finds themselves at John Ash! The best part is you don't even have to stay at the hotel in order to enjoy their food or ambiance

This was a beautiful start to a birthday. From time of check in to the bill it was great. The service was wonderful, the relaxed ambience outside was so peaceful and the food was just as good. The Bellinis topped it off. The landscape around the grounds is immaculate.

We were very excited to each have our own rooms with attached bathrooms, and felt like QUEENS... I personally was in Room #6 upstairs with a cute little balcony. The bed was so luxurious and ridiculously comfortable that it made it really hard to get out of bed and face the day (side note: they are clearly brand-new beds and incorrectly spoken about on that negative review, so take that one with a grain of salt, SMH); Some had deep jetted tubs, some had ADA walk-in showers, something to accommodate everyone's needs! Each bathroom even had extra amenities you wouldn't expect like make-up remover and cotton balls - such a nice touch! One thing I was worried about was the traffic noise at night, but it was not an issue at all, which just shows that the insulation renovations that were completed really were impeccable and every last comfort was thought of for their guests. Access to the kitchen and laundry facilities was also a huge plus as well for last minute weather needs! I highly recommend this gem in Sonoma County when you book your next wine country adventure! =)

This place is, by far, the most uncomfortable stay at any place, ever. History be damned. We were in a room RIGHT next to a main road that provided road and car noise all night long. It was LOUD. For myself, I experienced the worst two nights of 'sleep' that I can remember because of the noise and a mattress that should have been discarded YEARS ago. The gas fireplace didn't work. Zero instructions on how to get it lit. YouTubed how to get it lit, still didn't work. The condiment on this shit sandwich of a stay was the veranda outside our room having a security camera pointed directly toward the outside furniture where you'd sit. Zero chance of having ANY privacy. Its creepy and total bullshit. We can tell the place is owned by people that could not care less about the comfort of the guests, you're just income for them. Who puts cameras in private areas? We couldn't have disliked the place any more than we did. The place is a joke. It sure made a rough stay in Santa Rosa.

We're local and continue to come back because the setting, location, and overall experience are…read moreconsistently great. My husband and I have visited 2+ times a year for the past 7 years or so. When you book a massage, you also get a few hours to enjoy the spa amenities, which is a huge perk. This includes the outdoor pool and hot tub, indoor warm pool, relaxation room, steam room, showers, and vanity area. The vanity area is stocked with anything you could need. Brushes, toothbrushes, ear swabs, lotion, and showers, have great shampoo, conditioner, and body wash. The outdoor pool area is fairly new and the addition of the outdoor bar was a great touch. The therapists are always friendly, professional, and do an excellent job. The relaxation room includes light snacks, flavored water, and tea, which makes the experience feel even more relaxing and luxurious. Overall, we've consistently had stellar experiences. My one complaint is that the administrative staff can be very rigid and inflexible. We've experienced this twice over the years: 1. I woke up extremely sick with an upper respiratory infection and laryngitis and could barely speak. I called as soon as they opened and was told I would still be charged the full cost of the treatment if I didn't come in. Later they offer to cancel for a $50 fee, I was disappointed that they were not able to waive the fee given how sick I was. 2. During one visit, there was significant construction noise while they were building the pool area. It's all I could hear during my massage that was probably the worst experience I've had there. They didn't give me a heads up to the construction, I almost didn't go back after. One pro tip: don't book the 4 p.m. treatment slot. The spa closes at 5, and amenities start shutting down right at closing, even if you're just finishing your massage. Since they typically bring you to the relaxation room afterward, you won't get the full post-treatment experience with a later appointment. They shut off the fireplace, and steam room, and give you a time limit to exit. It all makes sense, because they have to close at some point, but it's helpful to know if you're looking for that post massage experience.

Before this trip, my husband sent me screenshots of two hotels and I actually chose a different one…read morebecause I thought it had the better gym. He ended up booking Vinarosa Resort & Spa because he felt it looked more immersed in nature. Let me just say... the universe absolutely knew what it was doing. From the moment we arrived, I was in love. Everyone was incredibly kind, starting with Edgar at check-in. He made us feel so welcome and at ease. While we were standing there, I looked at my husband and said, "Do you think we can stay another night?" I already didn't want to leave. We stayed in room 121, which had a beautiful balcony overlooking the property. You could hear birds chirping constantly. We immediately poured a glass of wine and sat outside soaking it all in. It truly felt like being in a foreign country, tucked into a peaceful vineyard paradise. I had assumed it would feel like winter and didn't pack a bathing suit. That quickly changed. I visited the spa boutique and bought a Bromelia bathing suit that is now my favorite. It's made in California with ethically sourced materials and fit perfectly. While there, I met Chelle, the spa director, who was warm, welcoming, and knowledgeable. She told me about spa openings for the next day, which led to one of the most incredible experiences of the trip. The next day, I spent the entire day at the pool. Completely alone. It felt surreal and magical to have that peaceful space all to myself. Later that afternoon, I went to the spa and enjoyed the amenities and snacks before having one of the most fabulous massages I've ever experienced. It was deeply relaxing and restorative. And afterward, they brought out a lemon lavender drink that can only be described as a magic elixir. It was light, refreshing, and somehow made me feel enlightened. It was the perfect finishing touch to an already transformative experience. The room itself was fully remodeled and beautifully designed. The floor lights in the bathroom automatically turn on when you walk in. The cozy vibe, the fountain outside, the mirrors in the shower -- every detail felt intentional and elevated. The bed was extremely comfortable. Each morning, I grabbed coffee and the barista, Collin, was so sweet and thoughtful. She even offered to fill my water bottle before I headed to the gym. And here's the funny part. I originally chose the other hotel because of the gym. But this gym ended up being exactly what I needed -- aesthetic, clean, and crisp. I got two great workouts in and felt completely supported in my routine. Overall, I could easily spend two weeks here without hesitation. The staff is warm and accommodating, the property is stunning, and the entire experience feels like a peaceful retreat in nature. This place is truly special.

First of all, renting this hall in the winter was absolutely the right decision. The space is beautiful, spacious, and perfectly maintained, and our guests were comfortable the entire time. The event ran from 4:00 PM to 11:00 PM, and everything flowed seamlessly from start to finish. One of the best decisions we made was paying for the kids' room. It was completely worth it. The kids absolutely loved having their own space and, honestly, they barely left it the entire night! It allowed them to have fun in their own way while the adults enjoyed the celebration. I would highly recommend adding this option. We also chose to pay for the extra services, including serving and busing, and I am so glad we did. The staff was attentive, professional, and incredibly efficient. There were a few small things that happened during the event -- like a plate of food that was accidentally spilled on the floor -- and it was cleaned up so quickly that we didn't even realize it had happened until after the event. That level of attention to detail made such a difference. David does an amazing job managing everything. He handled the timeline so smoothly that I was truly able to be present and enjoy my daughter's special day instead of worrying about logistics. That alone was priceless. His crew even helped us pack up all the linens we brought at the end of the night, which saved us so much time and energy. Another highlight was the covered outdoor space, which gave guests even more room to gather and enjoy the evening. The lighting inside the hall was stunning -- they were able to match the wall lighting perfectly to our color theme, which made everything look cohesive and beautiful. Every single person commented on how amazing the event was and how much they loved the venue. It truly was an unforgettable night, and Ellington Hall played a huge role in that. I would absolutely recommend this venue to anyone planning a special event. It was organized, beautiful, well-managed, and completely worth the investment.
