Neither item was ever turned in by housekeeping or recovered. What makes this especially disturbing is that BOTH items disappeared after being left behind in the same room. Guests should be able to trust that employees entering their room after checkout will demonstrate basic integrity and morals and turn forgotten property in--not take advantage of someone's mistake. Just as disappointing was management's response. I expected genuine concern, accountability, and at minimum some level of contrition that a guest's belongings could disappear under these circumstances. Instead, I felt there was very little meaningful engagement or urgency about what happened. Hotels depend on trust. Guests leave their belongings, valuables, and personal property in rooms every day with the expectation that staff will act with integrity. My experience has left me feeling like never staying at any Hyatt hotel again. Losing the items was bad enough. Feeling like management wasn't particularly troubled by how they disappeared made it worse. I would strongly caution guests to double and triple-check their rooms before leaving, because my experience gave me absolutely no confidence that something accidentally left behind will make its way to Lost & Found.

So when it was my turn to check in, I confirmed what I heard and asked for a room on 2 as well. She said there was nothing available on 2... I'm like WTF. Maybe it was an upgrade or something but still... she could have made an exception. So obviously, I'm in my room and have an important call to be on and they start working in the room directly above me. I actually had to take my laptop to the lobby to take the call. What a pain in the rear. With all that stuff aside, the property was pretty good. Breakfast was nice and they even had half-avocados wrapped up in the fridge. I have never seen that in a hotel. The room was big, but odd shaped. And the parking was ample for the property, even with the construction vehicles and dumpsters. There was a plaza within walking distance that had a few restaurants and there was a convenience store across the street for late night indulgences (or bottles of water). The hotel bar was a complete joke though. Why even have it? Hopefully it's part of the remodel plan. I'd stay here again if I was heading to Tampa as it's on the "Orlando" side of Tampa so it was a little easier getting in and leaving. Tampa traffic sucks so there's no good way to do it, but this wasn't a bad option. It wasn't in a "trendy" area, which means the price wasn't bad at all.

Upon arrival, they were told that the only available room was on the third floor and that the elevator was not working. The hotel claimed they had called me to inform me of this in advance, but I have no missed calls or emails from them. When I spoke with the manager, Kelly, she stated that there was a note on the hotel website advising guests that the elevator was out of service--this was also not true. The hotel showed no concern that they left an 80-year-old and an 85-year-old couple, both with mobility limitations, without accommodations on New Year's Eve. They repeatedly said there was nothing they could do. To make matters worse, the manager, Kelly, was extremely unhelpful and even laughed during our conversation as I tried to find a solution for my grandparents, who also face a language barrier. This level of disregard, lack of empathy, and unprofessional behavior was shocking and unacceptable

The Best check in ladies Vanessa and Elvie were fabulous and amazing a seriously awesome team and a great representative for the Besso Del Sol. We won't stay here again…read more The photos look nice and, in general, it's okay. Here's what you should know: There is still musty carpet in the rooms. The A/C takes hours to cool the room down. There was a loud leak behind the walls in our bathroom. The toilet was not sealed to the ground so it rocked if you sat on it. The A/C had a loud constant rattle when it was on. The bathroom had no fan so anyone in the room can hear you using the bathroom. It also had no dimmable or soft light options so if you use the bathroom in the middle of the night you only have a bright light to turn on. If you look over the balcony you can see the rectangular pool, but when you sit on the chairs you only see townhouses across the street. If you can overlook those things, then here are the positives: The bed was comfortable. There was a mini fridge. The parking garage was small, but well-lit & you must use your room key to use the elevator, which is a nice safety feature. The room doors have a peep hole, but you also get a peephole cover so no one can look into your room. Once the room was cooled, it was nice to rest on their comfy bed. They have breakfast & a little shopette. Here is why we won't stay here again: The manager never called me about our terrible last night's stay. The last night of our stay, the next room over had a screaming kid & baby. All.night.long. I mean nonstop & it was impossible to sleep. By 3:30am we called the front desk & they said they would check on them. At 4am we called again because it didn't stop. I called & spoke with Kylie. She wasn't helpful & instead of apologizing or offering to move us, she only said "alright" before hanging up when I let her know that I would call back if it continues. When we shared our experience at the front desk the next day, the lady apologized, but that was it. I asked if they could do something for us, so she retrieved an older lady. That lady said that she can't offer anything but the general manager would be in on Monday & would call me then. Never received a call.

Of course, there's been times where I've had to wipe a countertop off that got overlooked, but generally speaking, they're on it here. They're also in a great location when it comes to visiting from out of town. They're less than 5 minutes from Honeymoon Island State Park, 10 minutes from downtown Dunedin & they're surrounded by delicious restaurants. In fact, they practically share a parking lot with one of the best seafood joints in all of Clearwater. You get free parking here, there's a nice pool, the gym is solid (but currently being renovated) & they have a pretty good complimentary breakfast. Coffee & hot tea is offered in the lobby 24/7. Honors members also get 2 bottles of water upon check-in which is always one of my favorite freebies. Overall, this hotel makes visiting a treat every time. After staying at another hotel nearby, the difference was obvious. This property delivers significantly better customer service than the Hampton Inn a short drive away, and the staff deserves credit for that. The Middling 1) Location The hotel is only a short walk from the restaurants, bars, and nightlife on 7th Avenue, which is a definite plus. The food scene that is walkable during daylight is amazing. The downside is that the immediate area isn't particularly inviting. There is a large homeless population nearby, and it's common to be approached or yelled at while walking to and from the hotel. The nearby police station is reassuring, but it tells you something about the neighborhood. During the day, the walk is fine. Late at night after a few drinks? I'd probably call an Uber for what amounts to a three-minute drive. The Cons 1) The Property Feels Worn Out This hotel is showing its age, and not in a charming, historic way. It often felt more tired than maintained. The carpets gave off serious The Shining vibes--if the Overlook Hotel had been relocated to humid Florida. The elevator moved at a pace that suggested it was reconsidering every floor. The fitness room was about as basic as it gets, and the pool had all the ambiance of a roadside motel somewhere off an Alabama highway. The excellent staff does a lot to make up for the property's shortcomings, but they can't renovate the building. If management invested in updating the hotel, it would be a much more competitive place to stay.

The only issue I will say about this place before saying more positive things is that it is valet parking only, AND you have to park yourself. They give you a QR code to park in the garage then pay using the code. It's an area of town with little parking right by the highway so all parking is temporary and they will tow if you stay overnight. Back to the good. It's very esthetic. The free breakfast in the morning runs from 6:30-9:30 and has so many options. They had gluten free bread! There was a lady cooking eggs and building avocado toast with tomatoes and cheese. MMMM. They had an adorable chobani yogurt bar. The pool is on the top floor. You have to walk through their very pretty restaurant to get to it. It's a basic pool but has an area to wade in the water with bubble jets. Plus there's a seat all around the pool for you to sit at with a drink because you can drink in the pool! There was a DJ playing at the restaurant playing fun 90s and 00s hits, but I would have loved if he played BTS since it was a huge weekend for them being in Tampa. The town was lit up purple for them. Every employee was so nice, so I'm not really that upset about it. The hotel is also a sustainable hotel, so they have refillable water bottles and water at the end of each hall. They had adorable messaged on the pillows teaching you how to relax and meditate. They had microwaves, a decent sized fridge, and a sink with a sponge and soap to clean dishes. I was so impressed and had a wonderful time.

I got in a bit earlier than the posted check-in time on my confirmation because I had to attend a wedding rehearsal & there were no issues. They didn't even bring up the fact I was a couple hours earlier than what was stated. The room was very clean, the bed was comfortable & most importantly (to me) the A/C worked great. The open layout of the room made it feel spacious which was nice. The water pressure & temperature were great in the shower. Overall, there's not a single thing I found wrong with my room. Room service came while I was out to clean out the trash cans, make the bed & restock the towels. There were some complimentary coffees & a water inside the room but they also have a small snack bar in the lobby that's open 24/7. It's a little pricey but that's kind of expected from a hotel in a downtown area. Definitely helps you scratch that itch if you're craving something at a random time but don't want to go out. The only negative thing I could say about the hotel is that it's valet only. They make it very clear when you book the room but it's the only option you have if you take your car. The biggest downside is the steep price they charge you daily. It'll add up quickly if you're there for a long stay. However, the valet employees were also very friendly so that's not an issue. They do a good job at getting the cars quickly so you're not waiting around for long. In all, this is a great place to choose if you're looking to stay at a nice, clean, safe hotel near downtown Tampa. It's conveniently located off the interstate which makes getting to it easy, as well. I'll definitely stay here again when I come back to visit.
