Extremely disappointing. Sales staff basically a bunch of "kids" more interested in their cell phones and vaping then helping customers. Every time I stepped foot in the showroom I literally spent hours there. Was grossly overcharged on used vehicle I purchased. I came in to purchase my vehicle as the lease was expiring. At first I was told that I could not do it at the location I then told them what I was advised to do by Nissan. They looked in to it and then said I was correct. Then when I can back with a certified bank check they told me because the registration was expiring soon they could not do it. I told them the vehicle was registered as of today and as of a week ago it was registered in New York State DMV web site. I was very confused because since I was purchasing the car and I'd already given them a bank check for over $26,000 I didn't know why the car had to be registered for me to purchase it out right although it was registered I kept on being met with opposition of why it couldn't be done an extreme attitude being told that I should just go to another dealership it'll cost me over $3,000.00 to do the process. I can advise them that their policy is $300 through the other dealerships same as theirs. I also advised them that the car was just inspected less than two hours ago and if it wasn't registered DMV would not allow that process to occur again I was still confused why the car has had to be registered because technically I could have it parked at my house in a garage with no license plates on it I'm purchasing a vehicle not the rights to drive a vehicle. Recently my mother who is a senior citizen and the wife of a WWII VET went to this dealership to purchase a car. She came home with a 2015 car worth $10K with a payment of $464.00. Do not allow any loved ones to go to this dealership if they are a senior citizen because they will be taken advantage of. They gave her a choice of only 3 cars to purchase a car at the rate she was getting and then added items to the contract to beef it up. Usually I don't have a problem here. Never had to deal with the rude manager Ken. I went in to have an oil change and to find out why my check engine light was on. I forgot my coupon for a free check engine scan and I told them that. Regardless, I was made to pay 129.00 for diagnostic. Went by the very next day with my coupon asking for reimbursement and was denied. Ken, the manager wouldnt even consider it and was not at all nice about it. Won't be going back there. read more

I bought a 2013 Nissan Rogue there back in May and was told the car was in near perfect condition with no problems at all. Well less than 5,000 miles later my rear tires are completely bald and it is dangerous to drive. It turns out that the rear wheel alignment is way off. The tires are inverted and the rear toe needs to be adjusted. I went to the dealership today to ask them to do a wheel alignment for free since it was a pre-existing issue from when I bought it and they refused even though the car is under warranty. The manager was kind of rude and gave off this "how dare I ask for something for free" attitude and told me that if he did it for free he would be out of a job. It's just ridiculous. He did offer to do it for $100 for me. That's right, $100 for a 10 minute job. I declined and I will go somewhere else, even if it means I have to pay more money. I would rather pay more money to someone who is friendly and courteous than give any more money to Riverhead Nissan. I will never buy another car from them again and I will be letting all my friends and family know how they do business. read more

I already called consumer affaird and I intend on calling every possible entity to put in a complaint of how I was treated in the last 24 hours by the service department. The service department is horrible. Beware. They will try and get one over on you and if you are not aware of what you're entitled too then you will be giving your money away for things that should be covered under warranty. Leased a vehicle and paid for 20,000 more miles then was used and was still over charged in the end for an inferior product that busted due to poor manufacturing. Service was appalling. Waited 2 hours after scheduled appointment for a tailgate malfunction and seen after all the walk ins were serviced only to be berated by the service manager for a small piece of mulch in the trunk area as they tried to insist that was to blame for the tailgate malfunctioning. Then they tried to charge us to fix it after it was clearly a defect. Us and friends have bought 4 cars there before and after the horrible treatment and service we have gone elsewhere. Went to this dealership back in August to lease a new Morano Platinum which was a nightmare from the get go. Waited for an hour just to see a salesman and 2 hours to finally test ride this car. Salesman Jay and owner Ray were RUDE throughout the whole process. We were surrendering a leased Hyundai and since Hyundai is their business partner located in the same lot next door the salesman insisted on taking the surrendered vehicle as a courtesy. Ok, fast forward a month later. Service was an issue right from the get go and then I get a letter from Hyundai with a bill for 150.00 for a second key that was never mailed in. (both keys were given to the dealership the same day I purchased the new vehicle) So I call and ask for my salesman and he was fired a couple of weeks prior. Asked to speak to anyone about the problem and was told to come down with the letter. I travel 30 minutes to the dealership and was treated rudely by the staff. They took my info down and assured me the problem would be fixed. Spoke to Hyundai and told them the problem was being addressed and they would hear from Riverhead Nissan. NOTHING was done and I get calls from Hyundai asking for the key or 150 dollars. Back I go to the Riverbed Nissan dealership in which no one knows anything !! I ask to speak to the owner Ray who treats me rudely and blows me off and sends me to speak to a floor manager. I was assured the key would be found and the problem solved. Nothing has been done to help me. Endless calls to Nissan where no one answers or returns calls. Have left messages for Ray the owner and Paris & Frances the "managers". My husband and I purchased a 2009 Chevy Silverado. The only positive thing that I can say is that the salesman approached my husband when he first saw him, unlike many dealers that wait for you to look for help. Unfortunately it went downhill rapidly. A fast talking salesman, a sales manager that could care less, and a service department that needs to learn what "quality work" really means all create a recipe for disaster. Believe it or not, the one person that seemed decent was the finance person, but he gave us completely different information than the salesman. Problems with the truck that needed to be fixed were done poorly, to say the least. The lock on the rear passenger door was broken, and the truck had to go back twice. After it still wasn't fixed (at all), we brought it to another dealer who fixed the problem correctly in about 15 minutes. The dealer said that they would reimburse our cost... yes, it's in writing... but, still waiting. We have had issues waiting for the original title so that the registration could be completed. But they were in a big rush to sell that truck (before Christmas, per the salesman, so he could get his bonus), so my husband has been driving around with Dealer Plates for the last month. Unfortunately this has now caused issues with DMV, and the dealership is giving us the "its not our problem" line. Typical of the shyster used car salesman mentality, they don't care once the paper is signed. The one thing that I did do was get everything in writing that they said they would fix, which was like pulling teeth, because they didn't want to do that. Some might say, "Well, its a used car, what do you expect?" I expect to know that the dealer has all of their paperwork (like the car's title!) in line so that there are no hassles, make sure that the car is in 100% working condition, and treat customers like intelligent, educated people, not idiots. At that point, you may get more than one star on a review. BUYER BEWARE. Learn from our mistake. read more

We have been using Nissan Riverhead Service to have our car worked on for the past year with no major issues. Last week Sunday our car's battery had died so we left the vehicle at the dealership and threw the keys in their night lock box. The keys vanished and were never found. Supposedly they only have cameras on the outside of the building not the inside so we will never find out what happened to the keys. The most infuriating part was their approach to the situation which was to blame us for 'probably not leaving the keys in the lock box 'and 'the keys are probably in the car,or in one of your pockets'. They offered no help nor did they offer to give us a new set of keys to avoid anything happening to the car. Needless to say we filed a police report. Extremely poor customer service and will never use them again in the future. read more

I was recently in a car accident (toyota Corolla) and decided for my daily workhorse car, to go for an Altima. I like how Altima's look and drive. I was a little leery of purchasing from a private seller and opted to look for large local dealerships that offer certified pre-owned vehicles. I have a few choices for Nissan, and went for Riverhead. The sales experience was pleasant. Our sales woman was nice, energetic and took time to figure out what we were looking for. In fact, the first car she showed us was the one we went for. She offered an aggressive price and after minimal bargaining, agreed on an excellent sale price. I was able to knock off some pointless scam fees. Then I started asking questions about their certified pre-owned warranties. She seemed new at the game and kept leaving to ask questions. My understanding has always been, the standard CPO deal is 1 year bumper to bumper and 7 years power train from date of original sale. She flippantly said yes yes that's all covered. I wish I had gotten this in writing I came back the following day with my bank check to pick up the car . Now I had to deal with the financing people and this is where it got ugly. The sales people don't communicate to the finance people. Finance guy had no idea what I was talking about re: guaranteed 1 year bumper to bumper. He insisted that wasn't part of the sale price and tried to sell me extra coverage plans. I was furious! And alas, the "used car salesman" stereotype reared it's ugly head. I got screwed. I refused to pay extra for coverage I thought I was guaranteed. A not so helpful manager came, pseudo apologized but refused to give me what the sales girl had promised. What started as a positive experience rapidly turned south. I needed a car and decided I couldn't wait any longer. I took the car without the coverage I was promised. In summary, I got a good car at a good price, but still got screwed. Never take the word of a car salesman/dealership/finance person. Everything you want and expect , get it in writing. The salespeople (man) are very unprofessional, eating at their desk, congregating by the main , talking desk (including the Sales Manager, Ray) about their weekend escapades. I give this dealer a one star because this is the lowest rating. I suggest that you bring your car any place but to this dealer. They charged over $2,000.00 to update a car. They said it was the thing to do. Replace the timing chain. I asked if they had a mechanic able to replace a timing chain. They said they had the best. When the car was picked up, it was not running well. Call dealer 15 minutes after driving the car. They said, "bring it back the next day" It did not run another 35 miles and quit. They then said that the car was old. The engine froze. This was after they looked at the car. It was on their lot. I checked the engine and it was not frozen. I told them and they insisted that it was frozen. It was on their lot to look over. Very dis-honest dealer. They took money and broke the car engine. The salesperson was very personable and agreed that we would finance the purchase through our own bank. This was the first lie! Everything changed the minute we met with the Finance person. He tried to slip in financing with a different bank at a much, much higher rate. They refused to change it to my bank, so we said "no thank you" and began to leave. That's when the Sales Manager came in to resolve the issue. He said he would "throw in a 5 bumper to bumper warranty" if that would make it worth our while. My wife happened to notice that that payment went up after he "threw in" the warranty. The lying Manager implied he was giving us something free to compensate for the higher interest rate, and in fact was underhandedly trying to up-sell us! After we had enough of their shenanigans, we decided to leave. I asked for my $100 deposit back and that's when they told me "It's already in the safe and we can't retrieve it. You'll have to wait for the corporate office to mail you a refund!" Honestly if I could give zero stars I would. I have been going to this dealership for 6 years now for my Nissan Sentra. Of course whenever I went for just oil changes you got the normal "this is broken, this needs to be changed, your battery is running low" even though my dad does everything else and I always know everything is up to date BUT normal deal BS. Now, I brought a 2014 Nissan Rouge two weeks ago. Yay! NOT. I dealt with Vinny on the Hyundai side. This car was perfect. Perfect price, barely any miles. Great. All except for a rusted paint chip on the back bumper. Well, I asked for it to be fixed BEFORE I picked the car up and it it would be Peal White like the car. He said yes it would be done and BACK TO FACTORY LOOKS. The day comes to pick it up, paint is not done. Mind you, I signed papers in a Thursday and didn't come to get it until 4:30 pm on that following Monday. I did not receive a call stating it was not finished so I walk in and he tells me then. Ok. If I was told I would've asked for them to keep it and do it. But no I wasn't told anything or called that day. He tells me to call the next day to make an appointment so the "guys could come and get my car to fix the paint the right way". Those exact words. Make it the next day and the service manager on the nissan side tells me to bring it in the following Tuesday at 9am. Funny thing, not sure why he would tell me that when he went on vacation and wouldn't be back until that Wednesday so no one at the desk knew why I was there until I explained it 18 times. I'm told one to two days for this spot to get done. Ok. Nope. A WEEK later the spot is fixed. I finally pick it up after arguing with them because this should've been done and no one gives a crap about you at this place so they waited until a week to do it. When I pick it up the paint is just a white touch up! I could've gotten a freaken paint marker and did it myself! I was to PEARL WHITE IT WOULD BE THE SAME COLOR AS THE FACTORY PAINT. Nope it wasn't and please explain why it took a WEEK to do the shitty paint spot. Oh I could go on and on how shitty their service is and they're a bunch of crooks. But I already wasted time for people to read this long post. Long story short, I WOULD NEVER BUY A CAR HERE EVER AGAIN. I've been a loyal customer for six years and even had my parents but a car here. Screw that. Save yourself a shitty experience and never go to this place.
