The cafe was walking distance from our VRBO cottage on the Cumberland waterfront. We dropped in for lunch and took advantage of their great Greek focused menu. My wife had the Greek salad with gyro meat, and I had the gyro sandwich. It was a lovely meal. Great porch seating and lots of indoor seating with large windows overlooking the beautiful waterfront. Our waittress Kailey was fantastic. She gave us extra sauces and cokes to go when we asked for them. Lots of families with young children were everywhere, as well as all age groups.

This restaurant is directly across the street from where you'd catch the ferry to go over to Cumberland ferry . It has a nice view of the river with its outside tables. It's a Greek restaurant even though it's name doesn't imply that . The food was great . We started with the taziki and hummus appetizer. The pita was nice and toasty and the dips were excellent. I had the gyro deluxe with fries which was huge . It was delicious . The chicken on the platter was moist and seasoned perfectly. Husband had a Reuben , the only non Greek item on the menu. It looked delicious and he said it was great . The only minus was the service . While the service was good and prompt , our server had a flat affect . It was odd and robot like . She responded to no niceties at all . But overall still a very good meal and I wouldn't hesitate to go again.

So this was a wonderful yelp find. Everyone who gave this restaurant 5 stars was correct. The greek plate with grilled chicken and chicken lemon rice soup were sooooo good. My hubby had the Reuben sandwich. Highly recommend if in or near St. Mary's Georgia to make a stop here. .

A great location overlooking the river and the ferry. A local spot with Greek fare. We had a deluxe gyro and a regular gyro (w/o shipping de salad and fries). Everything was tasty!

Save up your money for the short drive to St. Mary's, GA to this humble dining experience. The menu has variety of options for you to try. I have very little to non-existent Greek dining experience so when I saw words I couldn't pronounce on the menu, I said, YEP, I'll try that! What a great decision. 1st, Mozzarella Caprese, a great appetizers. 2nd, Bifteki, key components, lamb, pork and beef! Key reactions, mmm, MMM, MMM-Damn Good! This patty is so good, ketchup will actually ruin it. Bite after bite, it's simplicity makes it a standout patty you'll enjoy. Again, Do Not Add Ketchup! Or you'll be eating "another burger", snore boring. The waitress was an original Southern Belle delight. Indoor and outdoor seating options that look out on water. Not if but when you go, definitely try this restaurant!

Took a slight detour off 95 to stop in for lunch. Right across the street from the water so there is a great view. It was early so plenty of seats. Ethan our server was great. Got our drinks and told us all the specials for today. So many good choices! We started with a couple bowls of soup. The Clam chowder. Delicious! Not thick but full of flavor with pronounced rosemary flavor Also had the Traditional lemon rice soup. Really tasty. I landed on the bifteki. Sounds like a Greek meatloaf. Very tasty with interesting flavors. Large plate of food! Deb had the gyro. Big portion as well! Very good flavors all around. Really great food and service. Would like to come back when the weather is nice and sit outside.

This restaurant occupies part of the first floor of an across-the-street from the water setting in downtown St. Mary's. Across the street from the restaurant, you'll find the pier-port waiting area for tours to Cumberland Island via tour boat. Public parking for tours to Cumberland Island is about 50-yards away from the pier port. Thus, this restaurant is in an ideal location to attract customers before and after tours. Menu offerings are sparse and entrees pricey. See the menu below. Cuisine orientation is Greek. We've spent a lot of time in Greece since 1970. We speak the language and know much about the culture and food. We travel the world all year long as food, wine, and travel writers (before COVID). If we may assume our dishes here represent the quality of offerings, the best we can say is they are OK. Our entrees missed the mark in terms of taste. Serving sizes were adequate. Prices were too high. Our entrees were Pasticcio and Stuffed Eggplant, both priced at $18. When you consider the costs of making these dishes by the tray size, these prices per square are just too high. Think this is an exaggeration? Look at our review on Yelp for Fox's Pizza Den in downtown Brunswick, in Coastal Georgia. They offer similar foodstuffs for much less and of higher quality in our view. Our total bill here was $62.00, $52.00 before tip. This represents the cost of delivery of two entrees ($36), a salad ($7), and two drinks ($3 each). You'll note signs at the entrance that prices increases are due to COVID supply chain consequence costs. There's no doubt all businesses feel the impact during the COVID supply chain crisis. But the price-performance ratio here is off for an adequate but unexceptional dining experience, if our experience is any measure of the quality of offerings. Any restaurant can have an off-day with the delivery of a singular experience and we hope this was the case during our visit. For many of us, dining out is an opportunity to embark on a novel or unique experience in terms of quality and diversity -- an experience we may not discover at home. One would hope most eateries would offer some better-than-at-home value. The offerings at this restaurant are perfectly acceptable, and the ingredients are fresh. We hope your experience here is exceptional.

I was up in the area for work today and it had been awhile, so I decided to go to the waterfront to look for a local late lunch spot. It has been years since I was here so some of the places I remembered were no longer open. I found a spot that got pretty good reviews and one I thought I had eaten at before. It was almost 3:45 so it was not that crowded when I arrived. Greeted quickly and told to choose my table. She took my drink order and gave me a few minutes to look over the menu. Their fare is focused on Greek food but also definitely American choices. However, not many vegetarian choices. I inquired about the seafood being local and sadly it is not. They are on the waterfront and don't serve fresh seafood? That is a sin in my book. Because the options for me were so limited, I chose hummus and pita bread and a salad with no protein. They do not offer a side salad so I had to order a $10 entree salad. The pita and hummus were OK, but not great. The pita had garlic on it and I hate garlic and the menu said nothing about that. The salad was fresh but primarily tons of lettuce with very few toppings. A few olives, tomatoes and cucumbers and no cheese. The prices are high for what you get. I am accustomed to paying higher prices for quality food but this is not it. My appetizer and very basic salad with a Diet Coke was $21 before tip. The service was OK but toward the end of the meal, I was left waiting for over 15 minutes for my check as there was one server on the floor and they did start getting busy. Place is tired. Floors worn, furniture spartan, they do have a few tables outside that have a view. Very odd menu and again not fresh seafood. I don't think I will be coming back here.

This restaurant is located right along the water across from the Cumberland ferry. They have some outdoor seating, but not a lot. Our stop was impromptu but the local reviews seemed to be pretty good. Based on the interior and the professionalism of the wait staff, we were shocked to see the prices once we picked up the menu. Even more so shocked when we got the food. It was much lower quality than we anticipated and in small, not well dressed, portions. The food tasted okay, but we were just too hung up on what we paid for a deli like experience.

A mainly Greek menu. The food is mostly homemade and tasty. You can try Greek soup, salads, seafod, and sandwiches. The lemon soup is delicious. Lots of gorgeous temptations in the dessert case. We didn't have any, but the neighboring table was raving. Service is solid and friendly. Riverside Cafe serves local beer and wine. We've eaten here twice and left satisfied. Sit on the patio or by the window to enjoy the waterview.

It was a little bit of a drive away, near the beach, and there was absolutely no parking on a Friday night. My husband dropped me off and circled while I placed a few to go orders. It was a cute little shop with donuts, shakes, and ice cream. The donuts are not traditional donuts; more like deep fried donut holes that are covered with all kinds of yummy toppings. They're also served nice and hot and in 10 packs. They had lots of cool donut flavors like: Dark Delight, Maple Bacon, , White Tella, and Love U Matcha, The prices range from $8.75 to $9.50 per box. They all sounded yummy; but we decided on Twix Fix, drizzled with caramel, melted chocolate, and cookies, and Lotus Crunch, which was topped with melted Biscoff cookies. Our order was ready in about 5 minutes and the bag of donuts was nice and warm. We ate them when we got back home. They were more chewy and heavier than regular donut holes, but rich and delicious. You could really only eat a few; so a box of 10 is a decent sized dessert for 2 people to share. Lukumades is definitely a very unique donut experience and worth supporting because they're not a huge chain. You'll be glad you tried them....and its worth the drive.

The food is great, fresh and the serving size is awesome. They have $15 specials with an appetizer which is a good value. My husband and my MIL almost always order the small salad with gyro meat. Susan and I visited The Great Greek Mediterranean Grill expecting a traditional sit down restaurant…read moreand instead discovered a counter service spot that completely won us over. From the moment we walked in, the space felt clean, bright, and welcoming, with a simple Mediterranean style that made it comfortable to dine in. There was a steady stream of customers coming and going, both dining in and picking up takeout, which immediately told us this place has built a loyal following. The food is where The Great Greek really shines. We started with the four dip combo, and honestly, that alone is worth the visit. The hummus was smooth, creamy, and full of flavor without being heavy. The tirokafteri had a bold kick that built just enough heat to keep things interesting. Paired with plenty of warm, soft pita, it is an easy dish to share and one we would happily order every time. For our main dishes, I ordered the gyro, which I often use as a benchmark when trying a Greek restaurant. The meat was flavorful, the pita was fresh, and the tzatziki sauce really stood out, tying everything together beautifully. The feta fries were another highlight and were hard to stop eating. Susan ordered the Atlantic salmon, and it ended up being the biggest surprise of the meal. It was cooked perfectly, well seasoned, and paired with sides that complemented the fish rather than overpowering it. Portion sizes are generous, pricing feels very fair for the quality and amount of food, and service was friendly and efficient throughout our visit. Even though this is a counter service restaurant, staff brought the food to the table and checked in to make sure everything was just right. We even left with leftovers and dessert to enjoy later, which is always a good sign. What we thought would be a quick meal turned into a really enjoyable dining experience. This is a restaurant we will absolutely be returning to and one we are happy to recommend to anyone looking for great Greek food done well.
